Mike talks about Andre Reed and buyer's remorse

    jake scott found at 12:28

discovered pretty early on in the process of collecting MVPs. Is that Jake Scott . Who was the MVP of Super Bowl 74. Miami he is not an especially. -- difficult signature. I was told the beginning that he was he didn't do very many shows but guess there's there's. And a thought that he isn't as much around the Miami reunions in the does 72 Dalton. Type stuff that -- out there that he may be more difficult on that front but it seems to -- Jake Scott . Does plenty of shows. And that's all you need for -- these retired guys. Is for them to do card shows and then. Their autographs obviously with that are out there another possible misconception. Is that the old guys are tougher. I was asked recently about my collection and and I was asked will you seem to have all the old guys but not so much newer guys and that's that's exactly right. The newer guys who were still playing the Manning's Brady Aaron Rodgers . These guys don't to as many shows. And if if they do wedding. And done with that their autographs or tougher usually

Hi everybody good morning it is Saturday January 14 I'm Mike show this is the hobby on WGR. I'm glad to have some baseball news two to play away. Here don't mean this this hour a insure anybody. Here up top knows. This exists so I'm pretty sure I could contrive a baseball topic by cared to and I might have when it gets cold. And across past you know the beloved bowl season. I get I get ready I'm ready for baseball February 19 for pitchers and catchers met you collar the producer of the show lined up. A professional baseball pitcher for today's show and a car collector a guy Matt knows about through a mutual friend. His name is Ryan to going pitches for Syracuse in the Washington organization. And the way I'm told is what I'm told is that he is a collector and also is someone that. Likes to try to get other people into it and that's all I that was one of the reasons for doing this a few years ago was to hopefully. And convince people that I know and mostly people but I don't just happen to be the station that collecting is still very much alive and and well. It's different than it used to be and I've. You know I think I've illustrated that almost every week through a phone call or some other thing. That I've been here since I labor day of 2008. Was our first our first show of the hobby but one thing I saw this week that was really exciting and also baffling to me. And I I'd encourage anybody who. Is in the collecting all the I don't most of our callers are are not people who. Are avid collectors now it's it may be half as around with that but people who collected along time ago wanna know what to do with things either way I would love to talk to. From people might it might have noticed this and have an opinion about it I'd be very curious to hear what you have to say. If if you track sales of cards. And you happen to track sales of the Michael Jordan. 1986. We your rookie one of the biggest cards. Of last. I don't know forty years mean certainly one of the biggest if not the biggest of the 1980s Jordan rookie. In a grade of PSA eight which common sense scale of one to 108 close to but not quite That card has sold for around 600 dollars. And I I looked up sales of this card that sold on eBay and auctions. And I happen to actually I bought two but I didn't mean to buy two which is. Happened and I sold one quickly away so say I've bought one of these cards either way it was around 600 dollars that I spent. And is something that I had thought about buying for a long time and I've I've had just sold some things I had the money needed to play with. And I bought the Jordan Carter and felt good about it all the other people like I've talked to the collect like the idea that card and why why wouldn't you. As an investment I mean it's an iconic. Sports card from the eighties and what I've noticed in the last. Two or three weeks. Is that sales of that card have shot up. It's all about 45%. In a month. And that's not just because one or two cards sold for 700 or slower 800 dollars but about a dozen of them. Mostly if not all of them on eBay. And that is a big jump for a card that I don't know it's a big card but why would that happen now. Any ideas I I don't really know are are the Charlotte Bobcats good or something. I'm kidding me that doesn't even matter. Com. What are these PSA eight Jordan sold for 999 dollars that's about a 625 dollar card that shot up like that. In in like no time at all. So. I I see something like this aren't eager to mention it because. The hobby. It's kinda like I don't need this it's like buffalo though and certain ways you know it it's a lot of a lot of a lot about the past. And how it used to be and with with collecting. As. Sure a lot of you know. Up until the mid eighties. Well in the mid eighties in the late eighties mass production started. And everybody got wind of the the notion that you could get rich through baseball cards and in turn started buying them. So pretty much by 19911992. Everybody had everything. And what happens in you know what happens in the economy to it is something. Like that it just the the bottom falls out and that's what we know that's what explains. A very simple level why. Cards from those years are all but worthless not all of the Marta got an example for you today as well. Of what kinds of cards aren't which I think might Tom be useful to many of but. We know that late eighties or early ninety's you know you've got almost nothing there. But prior to that there's still a lot of lot of money and a lot certainly. And a lot of fun to have and I think this card which is not an old card for this 1986. For a jump like that that I myself really can't explain. I'd love to tell you about it because what it what it. Also says among other things may be about Jordan or whatever. That collecting is still alive and well. And and people are throwing money like that at at at a card like this. And what what I also has happened from from this surge in the sales of Mac card is that now. You see people who do pay close attention to what things are selling for. You know dealers probably that have this card immediately go listing them on eBay for 800. Or 850 or 900 dollars because they've noticed that discard a shot up and I think that obviously they think that you'll you'll jump on that but you never knew your smarter than that. And I would think come they'll just end up sitting these cars sitting on eBay like a lot of stuff does. Without without being sold. 8030550. Is the phone number if you have a comment on that everything else related to collecting the Michael Jordan rookie has taken a big jump. A friend of mine told me that the Gretzky rookie also has I haven't noticed that and I didn't see that. And on a website that I used it to track prices I didn't see a jump in the in the Gretzky but maybe it happened a little bit earlier. Maybe you've noticed that yourself the Gretzky rookie is is a hole in my collection for sure I've never had a really nice one. Tops peachy peachy is a much bigger card than the tops card if ever. You become upon somebody who's got both. Audio PG cart is is much more words that. Lines are open for if you wanna chat I have a guest as mentioned coming up in the middle to show for a natural mention the time but. That the pitcher right to telescope beyond in the in the second segment today at around 83825. Every thirty. I I alluded to. A card from the dark days of collecting the the early ninety's that Tom has some value in this might be interesting to you. Because many many people. You have have these collections these big amounts of cards from those years and they always wanna know what to do with them. And I give them the quick bad news which is. It is very little value in it and you you probably. And you probably could do well to donate them or give them to have a youngster who might like that really not a lot of money to be made. One. Exception to that is if you have a rookie card of hall of Famer that's perfect. Bad grammar all famers and perfect the hardest. If if you have a perfect. Example. Of hall of Famer 1989199091. You know those years. You still have you have a little bit of money there now here's the trick though. To to considerate perfect. You probably need the degrade on it which means sending in a card that otherwise. You know might be worth fifty cents if that. You know spending five to ten dollars on getting a grade for that and then hoping that you get a ten. And you end up turning that into I don't know thirty boxer so the example and thinking of which I should have told you first. Is a pro set football card of John It might be 1990 I don't even know which right around there. And this John rainbow card was selling on eBay. The auction was over and I sought for 47 dollars in PSA ten. Now those pros sent cards are everywhere. But the the tough part with a great in mind is that the corners are colored. They're not port in the corners I'm sorry the borders the edges. They're not white. Bordered cards and white border cards are going to be in better condition generally. Then ones with you know that are different colors because the the caller can chip. So you have orange and purple on these different colors of those pro stick cars getting a PSA ten is no sure thing. Because of this this chipping the can happen and of course always other factors like corners and and so on so this John card was selling pretty well now what do you do if you've got a lot of these cards from those years I don't know maybe you seldom. To somebody who wants to take that chance for you and you know the they get the rewards in that case. But. That I just wanted to pass along that there is the potential. That certain cards from those years. Will do well and you know there are going to be hall of famers in in those years Brett Favre is from. From those years and I think maybe what does it action packed or some. That's and sharp what's the Favre. Rookie and who my asking what they're they're all kinds of different variations in my mind disputes modeled by all of them but you've got. And that and Randall McDaniel is another one. Marshall fall. It is another one of these guys are all from those years in the role in the football in their baseball guys to. And you know if you find those cards in great. Perfect condition than you might have something otherwise you know you you still don't unfortunately. Paul has called an and is on WGR Paul. I don't today. Yeah I got a brother mine east large collector I kinda got into it over the last few years what have. Happen here it always is my brother goal and searching grabbed and dub I think. Keep it not a ball thirty Michael Jordan. You know rookie. Cards and like that industry artificially inflate to. Also guided sit not a bunch of bombs those other people that are not a bunch of them keep Michael by its lack three like you said 950. Dollars. It artificially inflate itself. The next thing you know the industry standard that night. So it's really just a few people manipulating at all. Not being in the stock market interest and yeah I guess that makes sense. I hadn't thought that there were people with them much to be able to do that but if it's if it's ten or twelve Jordan's these are all being traded among the same people you're suggesting. Or like it'll play a vibrant I've 1516. And I got a chance that you grabbed three more those. And you know I mean all the nice goal and 3950 am talking to a dealer down in Denver. He should not oblige all the side we've manipulated the market. The sixteen that I had a fifteen and I had previous combined might lack streak at an artificially inflated inflated price. I'm get you know I'm getting the goods on fifteen an ready. makes cents or races in your brother has about thirty of them. Dirty regret that bad. Yet. The thing right and don't do I don't put the Wayne Gretzky rookie card to might spoke to when I was when abdicated on my fight I wish I didn't. Yeah I guess. Yeah I think the thing about that Jordan sat Paul is that it's those that your recent set. There's plenty of it out there but you know a lot of people didn't take basketball cards seriously at the time they did the or years were they weren't made. And so I think I think with that that the leaders that a lot of it's hidden in a few people's hands. Fluid you know that may actually think it occurred. Just just one more point this is gonna sound really trade your listeners but my Brothers already starting to grab cricket cards. From Pakistan and you see emerging populations come and into North America. From Pakistan from India. You watch it's gonna sound absurd but in one year cricket cards will be huge big and I like it you have you know thinking thinking about that the distribution among the population ethnically. did are you to thank you Paul. Soccer cricket. Well that is that's a long term vision right there I I think the Jordan point he makes you might be right. Don't just assume it's right it's not my nature to do that but I think makes sense. And I have not figured out any other better explanation for there there are there are enough people who have. Enough of those cards. That can the and they can make that kind of difference. In the prices. Interest in our 8030550. Is the number that's. To some places up for the time being is an explanation for that. Last night after the hockey game. I was just flipping around figure to be awake for another little while so I as I often do I go right to MLB network what are they doing. And at 10 o'clock last night for another half an hour was one of there twenty greatest games shows Bob Costas to number Gucci they're on them. And it was about the Kirk Gibson game. Dodgers and days and Gibson was the only guest player who was on and he was you know just. He was somewhere else like maybe with Diamondbacks or something they were interviewing him electronically. And playing. You know the ninth inning of that game talking to give senate caught a just right just the right time. Talking to him that he was talking about his day you know he woke up that morning in 1988. How we felt bad how bad he felt physically. How sure he was he wouldn't play you know Sat in the clubhouse through that game game one of the 88 World Series Dodgers a news. Listening to Vin Scully and NBC. Repeatedly say how Gibson was on available that night and Gibson. Said Howard started to burn him he is started to get mad listening to that and even though he knew he was in no shape to do it physically. He started to get warm up to the idea. Of of getting in the in the game pinch hitting at some point. So he was talking about that and Gibson I was never as a kid a Gibson fan but. Men now listening to him talk and him and tell that that story that day. He could not agree with what I like about sports any more than he does it was it was great. Watching him relive that day and he said something that. After I thought about it I I decided it was my favorite tree in an athlete. They're showing. Gibson home to bat. For that in 1988 and he's talking about. The experience. And he says that you know a lot of people ask me if I was nervous or just what I was feeling at this moment walking up to the plate. That night and and Gibson went on to say I was nervous I was so excited there's just nothing better. Then being in this this spot it's what you live for. We also thinking like what what does the guy say who did feel that way but struck out. In in that kind of a situation and how it later in life he comes to think about the the pressure of all that I wonder if it would be different but I. I shouldn't even said that that's not that's not my point the focus is on. What Gibson set about pressure he just said there's no there's no being nervous. This is what this is why you do it. There's this clip I think about NFL films from a long time ago ourselves and this is why we run all those laps. And I just I just loved it I think one thing about athletes that just is so. Awesome. Is how they in pressure like that respond to when they respond to a well and I think. For me and all I AM and I think a lot of fans are the same way this is something that sets them apart from us because. Most of us would get really nervous and not be able to function as highly as we need to. But athletes who don't and look at it that way I think that's beautiful I think that the it's it's one of the few common traits maybe not it's a common trait that the greats have. Is that they they love the pressure I think they really do I don't think it's phony I think you know they they have a it on attitude about it and Gibson. Came across that way to me and I just I just loved him for it. I decided that's my single favorite tree in an athlete is to hear that that kind of things said. And by the way his on his since this is his rookie cars are super cheap not a hall of Famer Bob what a great place in baseball history he has. 1981. Tops with a little hats. There's a Gibson cards get a jacket on the tigers and super cheap caution offering. All right. Ryan to telescope coming up a pitcher for the Washington Nationals and their organization. Was with Syracuse. Last year AAA card collector will talk to him all talked about a few things. What it's like to be a collector and a ball player at the same time they'll be plenty of time to for calls for your opinions or questions 8030550. Is the number I might show opened this is hobby on WGR. OK here is Ryan to telescope the morning Ryan nice to talk to you have my name's Mike show. Are good morning drab and you're welcome where were you these days I am. I am on the back end of it doesn't get out our driver and now Miami this in Indiana which arm problem right out side you know. We're just a sightseeing trip I know I'm my girlfriend parents live data is good so I'll while Iowa is kind of shut it down after planting a bomb and We're visiting her apparent now that I'm going to start ramping up my off season training or. During training arm and back to Indianapolis to train now with the pitching coach in America where where. Okay clear in the the nationals organization and just becoming. Familiar with you this week since Matthew got in touch with you about coming on here while Venezuela what was that like. It will a lot of fun you know it really. Prepared me you know middle and I can expect open this year I get a chance in the big you know it. And just. And you know extreme and there are so many people well it can mean weird aren't 2030000. People are you know on some night and cheering him into it there's trillion make between eight European soccer matches that. And a good college football rivalry and that was just. The band Mercury hit band were intent and the coaches the players you know. top notch I was able to play. Look such names you know are pretty good cockroach and brawn no I got. Henry go. And Carlos Gonzales so I mean you know Derek and there are a lot of big games down their Israeli and let. Very nice for you well of course the reason we're in touch with the used to talk about your collecting it says on Twitter for people who want to follow Ryan. Ryan to telescope of course would be that the handle there it says aspiring baseball card. Autograph collector how how did you what what what got you started. Congress started literally my dead you know it it was the thing that kinda bonded him and I totally I totally yeah you know Monty discussion or nearly 2% should say to Becky you know from Earth Day and of course immediately I would bet there are room in you know looked at baseball cards is that gone up and iron got about you know I baseball players and every. Every couple monsters so my dad let me Italian baseball show that would be around the be about it. Our guys I'm you know when I was younger we go to the card does look around we we couldn't afford it. Maybe I would try to bank and you know in and get to guard. Didn't have so I really. Really got into it and. I kind of stopped collecting. All college and. Does this year. Was very. Indeed indeed mean first Bowman cars so I kind of sparked my interest. What did it right away and and Cindy need gated me or how it very fortunate to deal autographs and baseball card though. You have really been able don't want them the cards and get out to my family and strand. Want to know mechanic got me back in the look like there's so to speak in credit running out of these cards like you know and not black Very nice trying to go with me here on the hobby on WGR. So what are some of your your best things are best autographs. On my best autograph. I think they have right now. Is to doubt today. World Series Jersey from the they gallery the Longoria the autocrat that got a World Series patch on it. It's. Authenticated PS DNA in it even got Adam Longoria has hologram on that I was able to work on that. Com through trade and I would give my best baseball card would be. A graded Nolan Ryan rookie card Nolan Ryan probably the one person and I collect. Just as he did. I love watching them play on TV and I was is the one purse I want to emulate whenever on the mound and though he was kind of a one card that I always try to collect it now that I collect it start ramp a little bit ease kind of the one that around. And try to come first a question back up again. That is a great card Ryan as you would know of course. Want out of his era he's to me he's the top guy for collectors mean Ryan. Obviously also had a great career needless to say but there's something extra about him he also pitched for so long so a lot. Lot of kids at different at different times along the way it would have been exposed and you know in a 22 year career something so maybe longer. So I'm really and that's the one painted I'm getting back into collecting been able to talk to some of these side and on super collectors just. Listening to you know their hundred people showed me pictures of their collection just being able. shared make new friends over you know just one player you know in kind of see what they have just talking about getting back in two in the being. Right how how well how good is your rookie card. Integrate. A good grade eight. Right now I'm you know it really good but it is currently the one that or depressed elaborate. We'll check back at an eight Ryan rookies very nice. Okay right to just go with me I'm Mike show opened this is the hobby on WGR. Ryan what kind of interest have you found that there is among baseball players in collecting. You know it kind of hit it in Ahmad. I'm not quite sure I know that. He checked. It probably super collector in the terms of you know the player world I think some people do extra actually with their own cards you know when they get released. You know sometimes the companies will give if you your own but obviously don't you go out autograph and or maybe that are the special hologram or things like that were more on the market as well you know looking because the card companies just don't. Kinda the promotional because that would take away you know from the around so we're on the market look at as well you know especially are aliens and com you know one sound usually. And outlooks or or things like that but. I think in terms just kind of collect and our players are really not quite sure but I know I know he's check is it he had that in the cart like. I've heard that too and also a couple of guys I've had on the show Dmitri Young with a famously great. Hall of fame rookie card collection. Why one of the best in existence Brad Ziegler from the days ago these on the really yeah Ziegler Diamondbacks may be. Arm he he's been on with me he is a big collector. Craig Rabach is another one although I think he might be out of baseball a player. So I'd like to find out about these guys that that are into it and of course you know. The access you have. Is so is so excellent here you are in the Washington organization what better. Organization would there be to be in for four you know if you're a collector right with Strasburg and Bryce Harper. Oh absolutely I mean you know there as soon as their cards are coming out there are being carved out by by people that they got out there. Tomorrow must you know I've played cards so bad and being able to watch them play on the field and also watching the value you know what their cars street. And what are your prospects this year Ryan you said you're open to make the big club. you know obviously that every cut every baseball player stream are much you're in the year and AAA. Eric New York with an affiliate and I'm very fortunate that the national that I did and they'll like that it kind of work on things and situations so. I think in the I'm I'm partly gonna start again as Eric Houston. Oakley at the scene and go to the I want I hope that you know the national TV champ and The nationals look better than ever right. You know what they're they're just getting better you know hopefully that. We can work got to deal copper Prince Fielder at being you know bring in that lineup would be. You know incredible and just bolster really strong. irritation and I think you know with the addition amount GO Gonzales starting look at national. You know there at that rotation going to be deadly you know and that they're able to that big bat that they wanted. and actually going to be a team to be reckoned. And I agree with that Orion maybe if if you're and you're going to be in Syracuse are spending more time there meet we will meet it's about two hours from here. And of course lots of games with buffalo and Rochester that the Syracuse. Plays every hour. And relish that not just about military is trying to plan now. On the I've enjoyed meeting you volley on Twitter hopefully my listeners will too and good luck this year. Appreciate their grammar or you're welcome to Tesco Washington. Nationals and I just abruptly cut them off without meaning to who was looking for the hold button and I hit the seal later but there sorry about that. I should apologize that was abrupt not on the air but you know behind the scenes here. very interesting baseball trade last night. Love it for the Yankees. The Yankees traded. Jesus Montero big catching prospect who did spend some time with them last year and did all right. To the Mariners for Michael Pineda there was more to the deal but neither is just I mean fears this guy right handed pitcher what do great pickup for the Yankees. I I won't I'm not on the inside when it's on the giving anything you can't get anywhere else by a lot of people. Love this trade for the Yankees to needed just huge upside for a four for him. And Montero was you know a good prospect but not like a sure thing in most minds any thoughts on this Matthew. Well the biggest thing is Montero is that he can't catch so he was probably gonna end up being DH. Which the Yankees don't really need one they have a couple players who need that DH spot give Jeter days off giving Iran days off. And they really need to fix up the rotation the sky 67260. Amazing first half. Right second half he fell off a little bit but that happens with some young pitchers when they. Throw Major League sells huge talent. Yeah yeah I think I think overall. You're getting back something better than you giving away there because there's no guarantee if if Montero becomes a catcher. And he can hit thirty home runs that's big value but he's a first baseman DH you can find those all over the place guys thirty home run. Very sneaky good move by Cashman just an NC north saw coming. A great trade for the yanks. All right some final thoughts here including one on some typing on eBay coming up call me feel like 8030550. I'm show and this is the hobby on WGR. Ryan to telescope Washington Nationals organization pitcher against him for being on. Double things I wanna get to in the last few minutes but feel free to erupts and supersede me because I'm always. I always want that eagle 30550. Is the phone number beyond this is the hobby on WGR every Saturday morning from eight to nine. Today run to the NFL playoffs start starts rather. And both teams will be on WB yen as we have the sabres tonight at the islanders pre game it's six. Saints at niners. Near record high temperatures for San Francisco on this possible mid sixties. And there's whether there are also perfect day the game tonight that I had a chance to go to I talked a little bit about it. Broncos patriots of looking at wind chills in the single digits little bit like our weather or a lot like it. Tonight for a new England and then pretty warm tomorrow the Green Bay game decent for the Baltimore game to you know mid thirties but. Nothing wacky that I read would be would be happening there. I got some last night. It's not as jargon that is losing. In in a bidding war on eBay at the last second. I've talked about my. Collecting Super Bowl MVP signed mini helmets and the right Aaron Rodgers helmet. Was sitting their last night in would be expensive. I decided with. Five seconds to go to bid eighty dollars above the leading and I got beat. I got the bid in Bristol got beat snipes are hard to. Hard to deal with. And I guess that means I should. Be one of those guys that you know you you set. A bid to go automatically right before the auction is over those are different programs you can use for that. And I don't know like maybe that's not why I lost like I did the same thing always I was watching the auction. But it's frustrating to lose that way you don't know that people are sitting by their computers bidding at the last second like you are and if you're like me feel like you know. Your superior to those people who just set a program to do their dirty work for them I was didn't like losing that Rogers it was a 200 dollar helmet a big ticket item and it had the inscription on it had the JS a certificate. I'm I'm I'm very particular about these not gonna. You know by any fakes. And I thought I had that I was bummed out here is bill on WG RI bill. out when I was younger I used you know collect cards and collect them you know every year or not put him in a shoe box and I'd like I have before choice. You know my house my little brother would always get and myself. But over the course of the years you know you're not collect them and put them up there and and I got older you know you did you really care about collecting cards anymore and I just you know let them up there and course and I want it to the army and went stationed in Korea you know about how truthful because. Home. And and just being given thought it really didn't care so that it at all anymore sibling you know. Get my card and probably up hit fairly well before choice in the attic. Yeah I was just wondering that they'd be where They sure. I'm in Korea we're talking you know these these are about a half century old these cards. There probably aren't they are very collect probably what they when we could walk up to the store and you know they won't like a nickel package and like so that checklist that check everything off tonight rubber band of not put them in. You know like old shoe boxes vitamin a poor choice so that my brother couldn't find them like a just forgot probably 62 through. Probably 68. On yeah that's that's a can be big money. if there in rubber bands. They know there are probably there's probably some damage. Older definitely damage confirming we we're always going to rule on trade numbers hold my friend because we are welcome we all had our favorite teams. let me say that and the derby there probably be some money and it if there's big money. The condition would be that the the key factor there. Like all they're not in good condition they wouldn't be worked very much them. It would be worth less but just how much less really it's it's just totally about what kind of shape the rim and yeah it's proportional so what are we get into this house. I don't know but the the request of the kind of wait for it to go up for sale but you know. For the flip rhetoric around the corner from it you might still visit it'll be old neighbors. From time to time and early mentioned that anybody else. This of this of this is puzzle a puzzle are here and whether another and it's it's it's it's definitely not your property anymore. Exactly know that the legally they're not the president not mine because you know obviously they. They're part of politics though. But if you knew with the people who live there. And you said to them look I I think there's something valuable in there that I I know where it is and you don't let's make a deal. Think about it that. What do you think about that. While maybe I'll just try that. I'll tell you all all all tell you where this is and show you how to get that it and will split the it will split the cause or the profits 5050. Maybe some like work let's interstate and let me know this plays out bill okay. All right thank you. Thought that's out what do think about that meant you better approach. I don't think he's in back. Known. I think it would be really weird if someone came to me and said hey there's Mike crap in your house from a 4050 years ago and I. Paul your floorboards and I dig in there and you know but it's just it's an alluring prospect these things sitting in there and wondering if they're still there and how much they might be worth super cool. That guy wants to write me so I can follow along in the store be thinking about them like what exact what I wanna do in that situation what would you what would you do it's a good one. Well I mean if the cut was picking up the potential cut then maybe it eleventh there the if it's my house and someone says that's a whole other matter. Minutes are what are you gonna pay for the damage. That's done that you'd pay for the repairs. Very interest in the to go lot of different ways that one. And only has Ricky bones cars. If he's got. Mean if he's got 62 in mint condition he's got big money no mint condition that's a but still there's potential there interest thing. I like that one I'll be asking my friends this weekend. What they would do in that situation hey Ryan gets left four assists last night don't get your hopes up. Have a great weekend I'm Mike show this is the hobby on WGR.

that was then and this is now card collecting his big business now cards have your heroes that your mom tossed are still out there and sometimes they fixed six figures you can spend hundreds -- new products and still make -- how does it all works these days welcome to -- hobby. WG yards in new show created to keep collectors up to speed on the latest trends and let everyone else -- just held fast in lucrative collecting still can beat peers WG yards most avid collector Mike show.

Thanks -- along this morning everybody I am lake show this is the hobby that guy just said that. I am live in studio today hopefully some of you might wanna give me -- we can talk about collecting cards memorabilia what have you. 8030515. I have really been excited about how in the last. It's a ten weeks or so we've had a few callers. Mentioned. Things that they have that are super big mean just stuff that. I and Italian I am superficial. Someday maybe hopefully all of a long life and someday maybe I will get to a point with my collection. That it's actually things that I really like. And not just things that have certain book value. I've got bit of the big picture big picture in my TV room. Probably the biggest. Photo that I have and it's signed. Is -- I love this picture -- me wrong but it's the it's the first pitch at the picture of the first pitch of Larson's perfect game 1956. World Series and it's signed by Don Larsen pitcher in Yogi Berra. The catcher. And I think it's really cool I love to look at this picture the clock in right field at the time is one note to. It's a World Series game that starts not only in the afternoon but. Like 1 o'clock not a 127. Or some nonsense like that you've you've got the batting order on the on the scoreboard in right field with the numbers of the batter's. You've got the crowd the fans are all there and everybody's in their C like it's 1 o'clock. And this is when exposed to be here this when the game starts it's beautiful. The problem is I don't like the Yankees. So the picture like that ought to belong to someone who is a big Yankee fan and also has the same appreciation. For. Are that for the nuances of the picture for. The momentous. Nature of that game one have you. Under any -- what am I doing with this. So maybe someday I will get to a point where my collection is actually things that mean. Special. Things to -- Memories. Players. I was thinking about it I'll tell you why just the second thing about a green card today. I think about different topics what's your dream card. And out again and tell you why I only got this idea I think you'll like this little story. But I thought I -- I thought about this before I really don't have one. Because I can't pin down like a favorite player or -- favorite team and a certain part with that it's hard to attain or obtain. But Tom that would be great to have. Like if it's like as a kid for example I was dale Murphy -- As was read costs -- who join me some times in the show from David Adams I was a big dale Murphy fan I was not a braves fan but. Like many people my age I'm 37. You get home from school the Braves are on 5 o'clock every day on TBS. My friend Jake would always joke about how Zane Smith seemed to pitch every game for them. Rick mailer those guys I mean you solve every day and Murphy that's how I came to really love dale Murphy but. If I want the best dale Murphy card with -- cost me ten box. So I guess I have that I don't really have my collection a place where it's things that are really special to me. I've had an opportunity to pick up some autographed jerseys along the way but are not like the latest one I have his Ken stabler. Because I love the signature or look the look at the Jersey. Seventies era of football is really cool I mean I just there were things about it the price was right there are things about it that appealed to me. I was never really been steeler fan or raiders fan so my collection is scattershot. And maybe someday I'll do better with that. Number why -- I think the idea. I got an email from a listener named Joshua. The other day maybe decade was here working with me today on the board -- and play along to be my Guinea pig here for a second then you've you've had as I've worked with you a little bit on the show is. You you seem to have a a basic interest in a lot of the things that we talk about but you're not a collector right. I I don't really collect a human beings that might be considered. Valuable or at least you know interesting -- like a lot of people I know you'll you'll listen to it if you find it interesting -- like sports but you're not going to buy boxes a card that's right. Joshua wrote me an email the other day and I'm grateful to him this was on Thursday I'm not sure you take ideas for topics but I pulled the cardinal local card store. It was -- sports cards Niagara Falls boulevard near grape vine restaurant here were near where we are. And he writes it's created some buzz in the local market and on message boards. So I thought you know all right. Basically you -- you sent me an email that has the words message boards -- it and I'm. I'm already you know snubbing by no little bit so I clicked on the link and then here's the card and ask you what you think you might be worth. It is it is the upper deck spokesman. That name doesn't mean anything to your right it doesn't even to me. Upper -- spokesman Tiger Woods Michael Jordan. Dual all dole. Swatch. Number to five. So you've got I only -- turned the monitor you can you always know they need to the price can't do that it's it's a regular card. Sticker autographs like the the cards and the use the card itself was not signed by the two men. But these stickers were and they stick the stickers on the cards you've got Tiger Woods autographed Michael Jordan's. With a piece of a short. That tiger what woods Warren a tournament. And a piece of -- Jersey that Jordan -- an NBA game numbered five. And he bought this from he opened it. And in selling it. That there are five of them that exist. And I'm gonna tell you after you -- tell you what the current leading bid is. Everybody should also know there are three and a half days before this auction and that's on me today. So what's that. Tuesday night. Tuesday night maybe around 715 when the auction and I'll be watching a.

Like that I would quit -- oh enter her no interest but no knowledge whatsoever. I -- gas right now. -- it is. -- 450 dollars us. I was thinking you might guess for a 500 dollars that's really funny thank you. Three and a half days left in the auction you're your 10% of the actual leading -- little less real right now the leading -- is 4949. Dollars. -- Atlanta advertisement for them right it can happen anywhere by. I don't even know what to say. They -- inside the -- to -- mr. stickers. It's tiger and Michael Jordan the way I thought what limited knowledge. With spotlight. -- where you mash worlds such as Michael Jordan yeah it would spell it. It came out and -- that -- Well let's not cut and dried I mean that this is an example obviously by its price. Of a card that mean you've got to iconic. Players and autograph seekers who autographed stickers good point. That card might get 67000 dollars for this guy that's you know disorder car. And you still have a car. Is this older car and you get to keep it.

Wow. I can't I cannot even tell you what I think of that I I didn't even know -- just love collecting what the big minutes. Green and 67 grand for that card tiger and -- What you've done here I mean to your to your question in which you've got here I guess. Is tiger collectors NJ collectors both. Battling. I mean in the highest of high rent districts. For that for that card. So. Good luck with forfeit the -- 494900. I'm sure a lot of people listening are bidding on this car right now and don't appreciate my upping the ante here. I know you're driving around like I have the highest bid. Five grand for this card thanks Mike now everybody else is going to go bid on --

Auckland. Under the -- to those just you you and I are gonna and a big. Head to head. So let's not bad for Josh is right there.

Thank you Josh for letting me know congratulations. That is. Incredible. 8030550. Is the phone number if you've got a comment question about collecting I'd love to hear from him I'll be here until 9 o'clock. I wanna spend a little time they just let me let you don't have a couple things and then we'll get to some calls. One is I mentioned last week I have a woman on today from an insurance company talking I don't. Well I've -- it on the right day you're thinking no it's cool. And a company that specializes. In ensuring collections. And a topic I think Israeli interest they wanna get into some some. Different topics here a year to of the show. And but things that are gonna be useful and that to me is something that's useful. Public she wasn't feeling well so we don't have and marine on from a company in Maryland will try to talk to her next week. Also. I wanna spend some time on. The ninety's early ninety's here and just have some fun looking back for those of you that remember. What card collecting was like twenty years ago I'm always talking about what it was like thirty years ago. When I was little or before. Like with you know some of you can remember collecting cards in the fifties and sixties and how he didn't really think they would be worth any thing and everybody's got that story. In the eighties even early eighties it was like that mean to me I am nineteen years old I'm not really worried about that too much but. Values really weren't the main thing was just want to do it and trade and a look at the backs and everything. By 1990 was out of control there was a card store and every corner you've heard people talk about this perhaps I wonder if and some of you might be enjoyed. I'm gonna talk about that a little bit maybe you have particular memories like means of sets and everything I've got a story about. About. Action packed member action packed I was thinking about this. Because of Brett Favre Brett Favre had that amazing game on Monday night by the way for those of you wondering you listen to the show before mine I'm just talking out. You're not we're not legally. Allowed to just call him far. By his last name like we do every other athlete in sports you have to -- Coleman. That's why we do that Brett Favre what is Brett Favre that's rookie card it is from star picks. Mean that's one of the many sets the just. Sprouted up. In the late eighties early ninety's that -- to be found -- united got a half dozen or so. Manufacturers of cards and yet you might have had comedy one a year thirty different companies that got in the game. A star picks. The best Favre card you could have rookie wise is a star picks autographed. Not it's not a common -- it's hard to find those little. -- six boxes may be -- I opened a few of those I was in the business of I was struck trying to get into dealing man. And drugs card dealing that and I would I despite everything I bought some of -- the crappy just stuff. Thinking that I was gonna get rich doing it. Says Tom analyst at Pacific classic action packed. Broad set of course. All this stuff almost all of this stuff is all worthless now I mean no value start a fire with it. Let's you have this. Brett Favre autographed Carter about ten other cards from the zillions are so that were made in those years. If you've got a funny memory of collecting in about 1990 or 91. Give me call 8030550. Is the phone number let's talk today and now hi Dan.

I don't Michael. It's. Really. Art collector like somebody other people might call war like Q but I can't collection.

early ninety's I took a jab more traveled around the country and a.

To kill time output card shops what I ended up doing was built a complete set of bills cards just just teams cents -- carts from 1960. To make it 9394. At every single -- make it right at its books and I think every hard it was every ever -- treat -- air tremendous 394. That all the sudden so many different our -- Companies like you mentioned the plastic so I'll -- these pro set all these other ones came out right it was just too much to keep up. But he bought wondered how to value that I mean I've got like monster Andy Williams Willie Evans these guys from the sixties that -- What a weird and eager Chandler tired they came out -- that of 1970 to 1973. Yeah. Apps to produce many bright and -- you know I I've always wondered I mean I would whistle would have more value here. In this area just because what it is -- and there's even like some inserts like -- got these like it look like little photo albums that came with these. Like punch out trying -- stamps be put in him.

I wish I could tell you what that was I don't -- I don't know a lot of those insert sets late sixties early seventy's a lot of sets came with. And on the 68 baseball set -- recently bought as this game set that came with it like one per -- or something so. -- anyway Tom. You wanna know what what you have.

I -- sent me an EBI would like.

I mean that's Portugal Drupal can find out that this one charge worth three cents and that's what we're -- that's the -- get the camps you OJ Simpson.

You have the you have to a poll 65 tall pink ones.

While those -- along those. Long ones will know what. What's you even -- and insert in fact it would probably have to be worth a lot of money because for example one of the pages of dot. Insert elbows it comes with a tired it's like -- George and lance allred.

Because of the -- let me try to give -- an answer here because of all the yes. Dan Dan. Dan. -- my god let me try to get your answer -- You need. Find somebody if you can because of all those little extra insert things are talking about try to find somebody. That can help you. Analyze all those cards but not a dealer. Find a friend who would know. A great demeanor out there you go to a card show try to get to know somebody that can help view assess the value of that stuff. I'm not sure I'm even qualified to do and I mean I'm in the despite a lot of those sixty's and seventy's insert sets are tough and honestly like there are dealers in the area that I trust to very very much. But if you went into certain places and you had all that stuff there might be big stop there. And I don't know that you would feel like a 100%. Trusting that. You get. I I I don't say too much. What you wanna do is find somebody who can tell you exactly what you have there in terms of that the top sets through all the years. What you said you could do is what you should do which is just go through a book. And Panama. Then you wanna consider condition as far as those cards go with me if you send me a couple of scans like the 65. You have them if you have pictures though I can help you. Advising their because with with cards like that even may -- your -- stuff but certainly just basic issue Topps cards from the sixties. If you have great conditions stuff that may be grating would be an option free to consider. But Tom generally. To put a number on what you've got. I would say find a friend who really knows it. And to find someone like that I would suggest going to a card show -- just striking up conversations with people. Go to would go to tables. And find a table where you see a lot of that stuff up and maybe you can. Strike a chord with someone who's working there. And get get an idea I mean I are not given the dealers and that meaning give dealers a bad name here you could also. Go into a store I mean I mentioned bases loaded a lot David Adams you could go into a place and take your chances. But when you talk about that rare possibly rare kind of insert stuff. I'm I'm just a little bit reluctant to just flat out tell you to do that. Because I don't know how big that stuff might be I mentioned last week. Talking with Gary neutrino local dealer at a card show when he's talking about these milk carton. Bills pins -- cards or something from the early sixties super rare Gary's got everything he's he doesn't even have these and you know hundreds if not more dollars -- thing and I'm like okay. -- this is just. I'm gonna go to move on now I I don't know anything about this stuff. Hope -- helped. 8030550. We'll get to some calls on some different subjects and looking forward that that'll be right after sports I'm Mike show let's go to Dan now with the up.

Welcome back to the hobby I might show I'll be here tomorrow with post game coverage of that game the bills and browns. For those -- and it's a good number I'm really proud of that that listen to the show on line from other parts of the country. We've been talking pretty much all week about the status of the bills coach and whether or not he'll be fired soon. That -- is not a one period that you wanna go to work I mean when when that's the topic -- Yesterday last couple days we've talked a lot about. Whether or not the bills will make that change and whether or not they should. And I'm I'm in thinking like in on not a fan of the coach but. What do they really gain by firing on the have to pay him all the money anyway or that won't they really game right now by doing that. But some of they would I would gain I'll be able to like enjoy my job more because talking about.

The coach getting fired every day. Is just it's monotonous it's kind of boring. And -- I would like to hope for better so I'm you know but if I'm allowed to. Interject some like personal. Labor into it there's one reason my kind of hope they do it just end the whole conversation. I'll be here tonight to actually about -- just get a get a place here I mean get a place to sleep. I'll be here tonight for hockey pre and post game sabres are in Nashville all right back to the hobby let's go to Scott now hi Scott.

Are you doing mark okay. I -- hysterical. Story. From the ninety's early nineties for a good card collecting. At the time baseball's Kris was this guy named R&B and topple us. He was supposed to be the next -- Lawrence. There's medic urged them because. Like I can you -- could constitute a port -- and plastic -- cover you know. I thought I was regular net investment it turned out to be the biggest postal card collecting history.

Yeah up pretty much he's he's on that list Brian Taylor another picture from. From back then the Yankees drafted them and he was supposed to be great and you know with pitchers you learned your lesson right I mean with pitchers he can't predict. With sports you can't predict with pitchers especially high school league pitchers. So.

You I was just going to ask you you still have all of it. You do. Did you you might have heard a few weeks ago I had a friend in here who has a met no -- collection like that. And he's just got everything you could have I mean -- pants. He went all go away on met no oaks and he still got element. All right thank you Scott Todd van topple the ninety's. Here's how and I I don't know if you can really appreciate. How much this sad news. But I'll do my best year my father is not a sports fan at all. Not a sportsman. At all.

And he knew that by the time I was in my high school years. Not only was I avidly into collecting cards and oftentimes it was he or my mother usually who was paying for them. From my -- Nice of them do that but. He knew also that it was more than just a habit for me like I was obsessed with them and I was starting to think about. The idea of making money off of you know he came home from one from work one day and sort of arrived at that that this is more than just you know buying got I mean this is about. Maybe this could be about making money. That appeals to him he's not sportsmen but making money appeals to him of course so. We started like bond with that how do we make money at this and one night this might have been like 88 or 89. One night we were watching just flipping through the channels. By then you had to -- had fifty channels it was just mind blowing. You had three all those years or four or five and then now the now you have cable and while like I've got fifty channels. They were just flipping through and we stopped when we saw cards being shown on the home shopping network. If it was called that I don't know but the home shopping network and you have these you know these guys. And they're just they're just. Telling you how incredible this value is -- it was for classic -- classic. Like by chance. Classic cards they were at yellow ones read I think different colors and they're just you know of a new baseball set that came out. Just like all these other ones were talking about earlier star picks and these different -- These classic cards came out 8089 maybe. And I just remember my father lighting up.

Please. You've got that we've got to do this we've got to buy these and he just. It was never like this in my house we've got the bodies -- Baseball cards. Okay that. Chirac -- I mean -- I -- like my tongue is hanging out at this yes you're right we. You'd need to buy these guards absolutely. You're so right that you're so right. So we did I mean we ordered that right there on QVC maybe it was QVC. We -- these classic cards and they came in the mail it was all exciting in the but okay and then he would -- door open them whatever you do keep -- do not open these are. Okay dad. You're right.

So. I'd probably still have those somewhere I might have opened them along the way I probably that still limos there totally worthless. I mean they could they could be. I could go into I could go a -- hundred card shops. I could spend an entire month. Driving the card shops with -- had a thousand album I don't but let's say I had a thousand of these classic archer 2000. I could drive I could spend an entire month. Looking for a place that would give me a quarter. -- I would fail. And in 1989 we had it all figured out mean everything was going to make us rich you are there right some of you remember these these moments ago Todd -- topple. I had another guy. But I didn't really know is a friend of of -- and I was in college and he knew I was in the collecting I was still in this mode by ninety. Or 91. Mean we're still like everybody was gonna get rich. So. He had these for some reason he had these Syracuse basketball cents. And they were like twelve cards each Jim -- time in the players Derrick Coleman. 1215 cards each and he said you know he says I've got twenty of these Syracuse basketball sets do you want them. You know for yourself I'm thinking to myself on the body -- these basketball sets to borrow money. To buy these are these basketball set and sell them to my friends who like Syracuse order collectors and I'm gonna get rich. Richard gonna make 100 dollars in mobile so I was never very savvy business but yes. These it'll how many do you want to I want a ball spoke I. I did like a might have even got my first credit card for this reason and bought all these basketball sets Syracuse basketball. Derrick Coleman. Sherman Douglas. There were some some other guys are just. I want them all. So got a totally worthless. I think. Here's Kevin with -- is now hi Kevin.

Well hi there to get old Jim sorry. -- Well you're -- you. I'd vote a couple of weeks ago that it found the atom my out there and it he would probably tired enough. We have to find you know yeah. I'm at a couple quick questions for you wanted out. -- I'd better. Write down. Under the -- went to crack the street from my uncle. And it's a quandary -- dedicated to --

I want I'd recommend you go to PSA card dot com it's the biggest company for that. If you ever were to sell them try to sell them on line you would need authentication. To be able do it so they'll be some information for -- there.

It's great and I actually like -- aimed -- big.

The prom night at eight.

Cool and -- and it is like taking when I was five years without any partner -- in my press. Or whatever. Well.

But some know -- email -- more questions show as CH OPP. At WGR 550 dot com or can also write to the hobby at WGR 550. Dot com frank is next -- frank.

Ago. Remotely that QB accretive by a router or. Like law apply now that are like -- do you know or. That I can remember that -- rebel belt but well. It all rise in. Abilities we all be coal and oil yet. I'd -- will do you. Predict the hard. -- Do you. Like corporate powers Specter and.

Why wouldn't I wouldn't be surprised if some of that stuff held up I don't know I don't know -- I know that there are certain those kind of cards that are out there and if you're dealing with the very beginning of of a phenomenon. That those their there's a chance of that but I'm really I'm speaking out of -- I don't really know but oh yeah like you're saying thank you frank a lot of those baseball cards you know. I just remember classic Pacific Dan -- mentioned pro set. And you just remember thinking this is the so easy. Look at look what happens you buy cards and then. -- in five years they're worth triple this is just so we easy.

It's considered -- cream cry oh yeah. Sent -- ten point 991 the one thing about prose that is they were very good looking cards I thought I mean that the photography filled out the card. It was an adventure he writes I like those cards a lot agreed Lebanese -- IJ.

They might get really -- it was sincere thank you. I just wanted to say. I shared a special bond with my dad grownup. And really meant a lot to. Collect cards and he taught me to collect cards tops. Was normally the brand that we choose. Go to baseball card chose. And just out by a few. Cards of players that we liked not necessarily that they were. You know any greater. Or better high priced. He was a Dennis Miki anger or not. And -- future of Iowa and didn't speak it was kind of from his area. So. He and I would always look for -- baseball card chosen and I would be looking for. Willie McGee can see is my fair player ground -- and but the whole point it was. Special bar and that we had and and just to. You know look for certain cards that we like to doesn't necessarily -- to be opponents Wagner. Ever.

Yet it's a good point thank -- jail like that I like that angle it is. There there's value in a book. But then there are. Other kinds of values and that's a lot of what. Has made collecting fun for people through the years is the the relationships in the memories for share. Thank you 8030550. Is the number if you wanna be next I'm -- show this is the hobby on WGR. I might show welcome back to the hobby here on WGR Sports Radio 550 and WGR 550. Dot com. My friends that bases loaded in Cheektowaga have contacted me about -- the the guy who called up with all the bill sets. Sorry don't remember his name right now but he was talking about these certain kind of insert or special cards with bills players on them that aren't exactly from the sets the we remember like 69 for instance. Ike I've not going to be able to tell exactly the details here because I'm still not clear from the messages and getting but. One of my friends at bases loaded Jeff says he was on the show two weeks ago he says that a certain card that was mentioned does -- it is in a book. Night when we talk about book values. To things one. Although the based cards are the stars at least not all the based cards but all the stars are going to be in any given packet football magazine. That you -- Now they do with Beckett they have a a magazine for reeks of the big sports in the they have another. Called I think it's called sports card monthly. Which basically just updates the prices on them the recent cards last 234 years in each sport. If you had an old football collection you'd wanna get the -- football it'll have a price for commons. And it'll have a price for each big star player. A caller was mentioning. Cards that didn't sound to me like anything that would be. In the price guide but I might have been wrong so the guys -- bases are saying that 169 card with bland on it and -- be -- bills player also. Does actually show up in the in the book. With at least baseball and hockey but I imagine there's a football want to have just seen the ones for baseball hockey. There is what's called a manual that comes out Beckett makes. A bigger a bigger ball like an encyclopedia. Kind of size ball and it has. The listing for each -- all the commons are listed out and it's all also all those kind of wacky insert sets. So say if you had baseball cards from the seventies and you had some. Like from those cupcake boxes hostess cupcakes or -- coffee cakes and you caught a mile. Those would be listed in the big thick. Annuals but not in the regular magazines so. If you have a lot of stuff that is unusual. You might get lucky finding details about the camera prices more than details. In the in the big books the second thing is -- two things the second thing is. When you see those prices don't expect of course to be able to get that money for your part there are certain things you have to factor into it. And that will bring your value down if it's anything but perfectly may come down those are the prices that. A dealer. Hand if theoretically. Sell the card for. But nobody does that mean dealers don't. If a card is booked at ten dollars. You look at a magazine you'll see two columns of prices may be a card says four dollars and ten dollars I don't know who's working on to the the the prices on the left but if you go to the price on the right EC ten bucks. You go into a store. You see a card in a case they look it up ten dollars they're not gonna ask you for ten dollars probably they shouldn't. They might ask you for five or six so the dealer is probably selling for five or six. Now ask yourself. -- what -- the dealer paid to get the card.

Say the dealer paid. Three or four dollars for it to that there can be a mark up that they can make money on the deal. Now ask yourself what is the deal like that's the same thing is what is the dealer paying you. If you go into a dealer and try to sell your stuff. So you're you're still looking at a card. That you have that you might want to sell and it says ten dollars in the book you might think depending on condition as well you might be able to get two or three bucks for. So. Don't just you know it's naive to just add up all the cards in your collection and then figure out the values ago this is what. I could get from my collection might be able to get a quarter of that or third. Maybe you'll higher depending on how how extensive your collection is. And how how many big items there are. Let's kid -- here before we wrap it up I bill.

The more like are. You. I think I don't know this earlier appointment right direction I have remarked that actually years ten years ago I have a bunch of sporting books Sports Illustrated but producer excuse. Yankees magazines and some aren't very good condition most were very who should have but I don't. 78000. Magazines. One while I was wondering. Bring magazine which is no obligation or forties I'm a a lot of stuff like that you know market order. You ready please interest in besides outline.

Well you know I'm I'm not here to just plug for -- bases loaded but I will tell you that's that's a good option I would say. Bomb there -- protruding Cheektowaga. I would say you could also like I told a caller earlier to wait until the next card show comes up. And not the UD I expect it'll logged thousands of magazines into a card show -- you could maybe if you had it all in writing a basic idea what you had. You could get you could just ask around. And get some ideas about what to. What your stuff is worth but I would tell you that you have probably you have a pretty valuable collection. There there is a market for that.

Okay -- nobody locally no bases loaded is local currency to -- called me. Oh it's all.

Okay. Well then. In May be general David Adams would their cards.

That's the that's the best that's the place I would advise you to but if they if they were uninterested. I would say then take take my other advice bill and try and try to show route. Because there are people at the local shows and -- and they're not a lot of local shows but there are people at at the show is who won were selling old magazines. So. Be patient. And I would say beyond there there would be a good option for you there. Maybe maybe email me I'll think about that some more and see if I can come up with another idea for a lot of time out of time though for today. Thanks for listening we'll have another fun show -- on the hobby next Saturday morning Mike show have a great weekend.
