Welcome to the show. Are you know our order we're doing very well welcome the town Q belatedly congratulations on signing with the bills so what appealed to you. You're in for a visit just to and everybody when all is said and done what appealed to you about signing the buffalo. Amanda the great opportunity. The war and then goes goes bleeding and I want to Select to Gaza coast the actual long armed and they're great job with a lot of confidence. There must be an opportunity the direction that between the coroner. Especially from the defense side or anywhere from Korean well my office so are part of a great opportunity for me to in place. Do you you know any of the guys on the roster or did you talk to anybody at all who played in buffalo familiar with the buffalo at all in this whole process. There are dark. And some German and well there's. Regard. What are those guys have to tell you about buffalo when you talk to them. What I putting they look awful is related back great span. You know the biggest thing here there's you know just we wouldn't be working on certain others there are responsible if you're not so for each week. And we know we have support here at the The biggest thing here I mean we just stick together it's so. Others want a barrel and you know requiring a can barely erode and X you know being at least seven years now bring in my experience to work Arafat. And American. Vince what's this some what's your approach like for this job you've been in the league as you mentioned a lot of starts in this league after a very successful college career but the bills have told you. You're coming in to compete for the backup job not for the number one job what what did you think of first of all when they told you that. Prognosis. Out of respect somebody in Mexico area where I what they're standing right war and are you or somebody be be straightforward so you know I had to understand that this city's historic moment. Our respect that are going to be here to support him that's part for the the about the second out right now just taken a role the store and all of them in the terminology and try to get absolutely ready fiscal responsible for here. Is that hard to do that mentality everybody wants to be a starter you've been a starter is it hard to. Approaches season saying I gotta do everything I can't compete for the backup job. Yes that's your daughter certain I mean detonator Laurin you know and ask me better and make sure that I had in my so well. that there's no on the road and I have posters reading out of my mind right now. Some followed there there's not know mile rose artist wanna make sure don't think remote possibility this you know stand ready and make sure armour all brands. Or know a lot two to blunt right now Motorola to try to put a secretary. And then basically disarm and options right now. You know you mentioned you know some of the guys on this team you played against Mario Williams you talked about the direction to this franchise especially on defense and Vince obviously fans really pumped at the prospect of Mario Williams you had to worry about him coming in the division what was it like facing a guy like him. I didn't know you comment sort of got a Harley dealers know he's you know my memories he's charged with would you you might see him right. Might similar remarks in mortar rounds you got no worries that respect that. You know no alternates are also orders he number one and got Olympic not a purse 900 Victor on trucks are also. Under after come on the market from more on the same team announcement. Vince Young with this year on WGR. In town now of course is signing with the bills a one year contract we have details WGR 550 dot com Vince I thought was really lifting when you talked about yesterday you were asked about how you've changed as a person. Over the years and I'd love to hear you talk about a for the listeners because I thought it was a really instinct common about. Worrying less about what people are saying about you which I would think would allow you to concentrate more on football. Brighter than you know a lot going on my mark my years Smart so every year and now we're in the previous. Yeah a lot of it being local law parties try to you know let's consider the naysayers they're able to people span and and a lot more on all feel you know our issue up up to the people worker formula ordered its it's. No let him out of nowhere and it has filed a new routine that I'm pretty happy about. Social Laporte on and I'm pretty happy about the situation I would change the world you know you always are good and bad. And so my thing here is keep the popular event as well and confident and and Dermarr possibilities that's what I have been dawson's. From you know from system you know a lot of do come from. I'm good at bats are pretty have always parliament today and ready to move forward in my career. Vince you're one of the best college football players probably. Of all time what. What adjustments are there from the college game to that the the pro level what did you learn. From having so much success and the collegiate level and then coming the NFL or it I mean it's obviously got to be much much harder. Quarter they hear that there's you know are not sure there's make sure you got to write all the field. So you're out there were about a lot of issues. All the fear over the did you leave work in any article moment. You have to be made racially calendar basically agent not laughing at those brought on in my previous years where. You know rock and you know RG jury and Andrew Luck not a quarterback who drafted. Does make sure you have the opposite and Internet and tech and then you can just go and religious studies what gonna play the game will also. Right now certain things and are pretty happy about that so. Now put a lot of focus and a lot of talent their plans what brought about the whereabouts I'm pretty happy Obama mentioning that apple. Ops aren't. About the differences on the field and style of play too because you know obviously the success the you have while Texas they're probably some fans that wonder if an NFL team. Could do that if they ever committed to really trying to run that kind of offense you know you got wildcat here and there at the NFL seems to be. Still much more traditional work or college you see a lot of success of like the Texas style offense and and the often that you ran like you were there. Yeah yeah notably the barrier or you know have been learned you're not I don't learn how to part of president and a social. Morton well a lot of different respectful from you know Osama bigger you know I don't block him and traveling. As well as you know Andy Reid and Marty down and pension reductions. In carbon. Blessed to be around some real good you know coaches and not talked me. Different things about protections read coverages. And things like that as well here in buffalo now. Now are all either intact and happy about that part of what model came into next appearance it has Well on the pocket as well let it let me two more out of of some might let Monday. Argenbright at all other the other because I had these. The years of learning and have a lot of experience are pretty happy about little fortunate that market esta okay let out. So embargo altogether because there have parliament Siemens. how much have you been able to look at in terms of the playbook and what they do here offensively. What a lot that's probably don't assertions I got here a lot standard netbook and when I'll take that currently gave and and it's art you know Matlock and you know a lot of and relate back to the You know different concept that is you know that the biggest thing it doesn't mean on the charm and I'll let you know. Much like it that data center and opened a Larkin. You know start to move forward and into the playbook right now to take it slow and there are some are coming RT today I got. Half a week now to quote CA so right now take a lot of bears a veteran. Why does that connect curious then you know like how comfortable do you think this you'll you'll be in this offense if you're pressed into action because wanting Chan Gailey does and has talked about is creating different things for different guys not just jamming players into his offense do you anticipate. And creating some plays are some things for you. that's one thing I do respect of our earlier today because that he knows as Larry knows with like you have compensation what do you want to are you about certain place you can respect so. And I'll make sure that anywhere cancellation at what optional cup where. So the not you know our would definitely be studying and political law which it sort it to make sure on the same page as everybody else about to do a thing about you wanna take those challenges that a quarterback. And then when you get the opportunity and going to keep to sanction employers are seeing what a that was not there. Well look you know about you know got a lot of great and how much and foreigners and a lot of great interest and always so. Without being going on and back in them this you know multiple low orbit around very accurate but it's all on in my business world we're also possible that in the world. I see that there's a web that are that ranked the top ten athlete owned restaurants and you were number one ahead of bot. Even Wayne Gretzky you run him I know Brad since Ronald so number one Vince Young steakhouse what's what's the specialty what's that if we go we gotta get. The due to regulations food are go to salmon that we have I would do seven very nice. Some great spots on the side and and if you like stake our perfect hand hero you know mommy companies there's are that is very very spiritual. Are keeping occurrence down and keeping your beloved person down so. That's a Japanese these that are really do love so if you go to argued different Perfect candidate so the river at stake and how we pick that little bit different and how much everybody is Thursday so you'll love all the flavors and there. 2. 5/15 Bill Polian talks about his wall of fame honor, his time in Buffalo, and more

    Tue, 15 May 2012

Our Bill Polian who's been a guest on the show he's been kind enough over the years while with the Indian and now. With the SP and always c'mon it's a football this year in buffalo and always talks about how. He has a soft spot for buffalo now he's got a spot on the wall of fame or he well. Become the 28 individual on the bills wall of fame that was announced over the weekend and bills whether right now. Good morning bill as Howard Jeremy welcome the congratulations on this great honor for you. Well thank you we're excited it's. It's a great honor and and looking very much forward to it. What was though it was like your bill when you got the call did you get a call from wizard Ralph Wilson who called you with this. Yeah as a matter of fact I was traveling this inferences go to Europe attend the conference and I got a call from Scotty told that the builds PR director. As soon as I arrived at the airport in San Francisco and he should you got to call mr. Wilson that the house. And I thought oh my heavens sums wrong here and I call secretary. And she should though nothing's wrong ritual would like to speak with a human. He got align so let me be the first to congratulate chew on here. A nomination to the walls so I was shocked and I couldn't find words to express myself it really was really. Shocking and and and a marvelous obviously tomorrow's phone call. Can you share or does any of of mr. Wilson's comments while he was congratulating what he had to say to you. Well I just said that that was Ayman and that the committee was a very favorable order and and he is they've just didn't want to. Put me on and when I was working for another team that I was the first person who'd gone on you know would work through achievement. And so that you know they were glad that now is an appropriate time so. You know I was I was Throw them. I really couldn't find work I told analysts I'll write you I feel I can't find the words or Tuesday. Well you've got a couple of days built it. To try and have this all sink in and you had accolades obviously you you've had a Super Bowl championship that you have put together an Indianapolis you've won executive of the year honors before individual accolades. How does this one stack up for what is this one mean to you. Well it means so much because in many respects. You know Buffalo's home the kids so our kids who went to school there. A daughter went to America high school in communication is college to my boards to us Saint Francis type school then that's my youngest to right school. They went to grade school in Indianapolis and and so I excuse me in in buffalo and so You know it did have fondest memories of that we have as a family. All based around buffalo if you ask any of the boys you know where their home is built in buffalo. And and and that's in large measure truth so. The it you know there's there's there's so much emotion tied up with so many friends so many great memories. To be able to come back and receiver kind of an honors it's really important thing for sure not only myself but also at. You mentioned you got the call from the owner himself how your relationship with him because you know sometimes when it comes to the end that you know your relationship been in here determination. It doesn't. Bode well for relationship what is your relationship like with the owner of the bills today. As college. Always been yeah that's always been great it's always been great in fact we joked a little bit about. The circumstances surrounding my termination but that. Actually the and new relationships always been great you know I and one thing I did sort of mr. Wilson which I've said numerous times before that. I owe him an incredible debt of gratitude because he took a chance on nobody. 22 runs this club in the and that's where that I'll be forever grateful and then. It in addition to that he gave Marvin all the support we we could meet. Two win championships and you know that it I'm often. Repeated the story we had a opportunity to trade the rights Jim Kelly or. It what Ben Very very good return including a young quarterback who never turned out to be it nearly as good Jim Kelly but. It was something that we had to consider and and and mr. Wilson. Talk about it for about fifteen seconds that Been Jim Kelly and and and I should you know it's likely to be the biggest contract. Administrator. All that. And they said that aren't we in this I didn't and so we can't ask for more commitment that. I wanted to ask you about that what want one of these quote one of the questions I was curious about bill there were a number of big moves in your tenure here that helped you build this team to a the made four straight super balls getting Kelly hiring Marv. You drafted Thurman Thomas she traded for Cornelius Bennett your on the staff when they drafted Bruce Smith and Andre I'm I was thinking. You're pitcher might be it's like asking a parent who his favorite child is but do you have a best to move or move is there like like one key move do you think with the biggest of them all. Well I I think you know you mentioned all all all the big ones. But I think the most. The most telling mood so that the two movement that made. The difference. Were the early ones via that the hiring of Without him none of what what came about would have happened. And and then. The signing of Gene Kelly resist symbolic it ended. For the fans and and really for the franchise. And the area. A long period. Of darkness swear. You know we were the other jokes on the on the late night shows. Everybody had their own favorite buffalo Nobody is ever forgotten it was 177. In the Of 89 I guess it was and then and and and shall. You know it's just or 85 excuse me but it you know we were a national joke and all of a sudden. With the signing of Jim Kelly who would spurn the built in the first place. It it turned everything around from a psychological standpoint so. I think those were the pivotal moves but everyone that you outline. Helped to contribute to. To the four straight super. Rules there as you as you know his pretty long period of darkness going on right now with a playoff drought since 99 with with buddy nix with. Chan Gailey and I know we talked to you before the draft about the signing of Mario Williams everything that they've put in place Fitzpatrick as their quarterback. Do you think this team can make the playoffs this year and next year is that darkness gonna come to an end any time soon. Well don't forget that Two years to make support so you know there's there's a visit gestation period as a period of growth that place. And and the builder by analyzing very young team. So. There's no question that they're gone in the right direction none whatsoever. And if it fit and stay healthy. I think they have as good chances anybody I don't know what the jets are gonna you're going to be hard to tell given. All the changes that are taking place there and unless New England. Improves their defense markedly. There's still a team that that is not what it used to be in there and their so. They still have Tom Brady obviously and they still have a lot of offensive weapons. Well it they're not a bit did juggernaut configures these so. That looks like a little bit of wide open provision. Miami is that is probably in a building mode at this point retirement and perhaps a little bit further behind the bills. So we'll see whether it all hinges on the quarterback you know as long as Tom in New England. They have the capacity to win every game. And and then you've got to have comedy firepower stay with them in the number and the Gary. So long as it's very healthy. I think they're they have a chance. But there's no question that they're going in the right direction. They'll things for let you go for bills GM Bill Polian was this going up on the wall of fame that the team has yet to announce which home game will be honored When you look back on your your whole tenure here with the bills what are you most proud of. Well I'm most proud of the way of the guys that we have. Had. And the people that made up that team and not only how they conducted themselves as players with the bills but what they've gone to do in later life. It proves conclusively that if you have people with good football temperament and good character. They're gonna reform and in in every walk of life in you know you look at how many people broadcasting. How many have distinguished themselves. In in charitable. Endeavors like like Jim and and Steve Some of the coaching and frank Reich in. You know people actually mansion. The launch of unfortunately. Another great man. You know when and and they are the last team that a team and together for a long time. But before free agency. And and that was it that they were really really close family are really close family and and I would move. Obviously very saddened that at hope that but it I was movement and it showed once again how close they weren't. By the number of people that showed up for ten funeral. And the number of wives that work there to support. Take all in her time of This is remains of very strong family to Thursday. And and just being around those guys and having the opportunity to be part of that was to me. A tremendous tremendous experience every winning team is like that but was like that's a long long time and remain so. And it speaks to really what they are. Bill did do you lasting for you do you or did you ever. Think what if I know I do from time to time you know all if you had stayed. Could you know would you have won a Super Bowl how things would have been different. I doubt there would have been eleven or twelve your play after whatever it is do you ever think about that at all. No I don't. You know you can't ever look back. The you know you can look back and is that you can have I've never been want to look back and say what is for too bad you know. If you're just move on to what are the next challenges so no it never done that. Certainly. Enjoyed that time I had in the awful as say it's for a friendly it's in many ways perhaps it is time to rural life. And and so many happy memories and so many friends. Which I'm looking forward to that the you know to seeing and sharing that's where. But no I've never looked back and wondered what is. Those things in this business those things happen and and just accept them and move. Well I'm sure the fans are looking forward to giving you a standing ovation the day your honor and I know it'll be great for the fans to see all of those great players back as you mentioned. Such a family getting back together and being there on you as well congratulations again on this. Wonderful honor bill thanks very much for coming on the station with us this morning.

  4. 5/15 Former Bills LB Chris Spielman discusses his new book on his wife's battle with breast cancer

    Tue, 15 May 2012

Chris it's Howard Jeremy good morning welcome to the show first Good morning I haven't appreciate you coming on it's a fantastic book and and I I wanted to start my my first question you chris'. Why you wanna write the book it's obviously a very personal extremely emotional story that Al. Why did you wanna write it in the first place. Well I think that he wanted to chronicle this. Journey. I wanted to chronicle journal stroke can help people under greater good. What needed to write because our frustration or read it came on. The night or thereafter I found out that he was terminal and the reason why so at that time it's because you Begin to reflect on your life. And reflect on cancer journey and everything is very clear my mind and so in order to incredible book in the book that can help people. In a book for the greater good change would be of service. Are yet to be completely raw honest it's certainly my thoughts and emotions and it's time and so that's why I've put down on Paper. Chris I think what's interesting reading this book is is our perception of you when you played in Detroit and certainly when you played here was a popular as toughest football players can come. Think you even joked that your press conference when you sign here. That you know you'd you'd never wanna be carted off the field and a football game in and all the stuff you've played in Detroit and game where you. You know you you could raise your arm above your shoulder yet have guys keep lowering your arm for you when it got stock in a position. How much did this change you though here's this big strong tough football guy. And obviously you know you wrote in the book your priorities obviously changed after Stephanie came down with the disease. Well I don't know I mean I always. You know I would always submit I I had an idea what I was out of football player and coach not want to die and that's not to say that I won't get hot the at father baker at work that. Everything went they'd stop me and and my career. So when crunch time came I had to make actual age. Wanna find out what this journey would especially original plaque while they were a place. And actually work on 98 fortunately camping that your comment about four had to make a decision. And you know venture exchange deputy actually cried more. When I told her that because god gave the ability I'm actually taking your opt out. Stay home and lack of play that she did which I'm ratchet cancer. I think like I said the book is it because you you we've been both stories your football life from your playing days growing up in Ohio and obviously your time here in buffalo it ends with the injury but. You talk about your decision why you picked buffalo why you came to play here in the idea of trying to make the playoffs. What do you remember most about your career with brief but your career with buffalo and play out here. Well I think it was too short that happened I would like to play I probably would think it in you know actually three more years I'm a good plane and because I did enjoy the atmosphere and dial it up people and act in about my experience of what a great football card intent is a college like gap which here and players. With such a strong community really great leadership for John Butler before John went in being on that which unfortunately or fortunately went home that. They have an and then mark Levy of course was great leader saying it shouldn't Kelly and Andre permanently through all these great players in which at that are sort of to have. Albeit for the great I'm. yeah I really enjoyed my and it not what are very well. What Demi view you talk a lot about the game in Indianapolis I mean is it clear like at the memories so clear that you can call like it was yesterday. Yeah why I had a lot of recall on the a lot of plays obviously now want to think that one looked pretty much And in my career in China play in the next week against amber and I did actually. But. I was kept carrying out some routes and so longer shooting in body and it's dropped I mean. That game. Minneapolis in the back for what country well can part of anybody's. outlook could hit the everything and my body kind of fired. In its chemical you get hit a ball that that's patients throughout my whole body at night. Copy continue to play the game and try to play next week and I walked in Cuba so what was the wires. in the game and Everett but I got to get this checked out that's what I'm out there as well sixty and do our number aren't. Chris Tillman whether it's for Buffalo Bill the book is that's why I'm here Chris I wanted to ask it well first off I mean it's a draw on that subject. Post football life today do you have any issues that you believe are a direct result of your football career and although the pounding Utah. Well I mean I have a fusion in my neck and we're I have hit. Well another risking and I understand how the when I've played. And I would do all over again heartbeat. But I think well the one question I over time when parents ask me. Can that have done it and teaching its students young Q. So there are kids play football and I'm sure you get up about what Kurt Warner had to stay and of course we had. are saying well when you lecture you I report pictures now. Europe they were all that compact a lot of information on the about. Through corruption and state in risk factors and our young girl you stalker there was are on a local Paper here about the Arctic Ocean the captain girl cheap that you risking everything we do. I would never helped countless you know what not to do English teachers felt secure what she cute is that when your child. You mentioned that you know you know the risk and you do it all again if you could but still when when you heard to say out news and we don't know what caused the the suicide but when you heard that news did did you worried that it. Freak out at all now. Well because at our. I know I mean I don't know what I am I know who I am I I want my biggest concern and probably it was with questions. And big issues of players are after their career. I don't know what how great the number is compared evolve in a players. What I don't know what not apply its concussion. When that game action I think what study you could be done. But for me I mean. I have I have mentioned. Lot of purpose. Normal spot for children and it's probably more like well that's a station and we had. I would call it bad that I can be an adult can actually And I think another issue that may be looked at and spent a lot of guys that play. While prepare for life chapter actual ball in all the sudden have wiped out stopped. And they're not love in the door and not an end wearing all you try them so why not opt out of nowhere to go. And unlocked suppression on the part of matter or what got the that it was fortunate among current players in. And our players the their careers. The good torture it looked like an interior eighty some percent which while the issue. Chris Tillman us again the book is that's why I'm here it's a tremendous read. Obviously a very emotional moving story as he intertwined his football career. And his story. Meeting Stephanie in their life together and long battle. Against breast cancer Chris thank you very much for coming ominous this morning which really appreciate your time and well that's the luck you and your family as well. Thank you and I look forward to come into the throttle cancer center in June 22 on the the kickoff for a great event up there's no hope the folks come out either. Plenty Howard Jeremy good morning how are you today. All are good I bet there's no you can guess what the first questions going to be.

Jordan with the you know restarting gold and.

This game apparently you give us the -- where you Amir Mir and I go ahead. I know where your regular would be the worst. -- We start --

Had -- and.

I'm not helped me oppositional that they can they can -- coalition try to prepare --

You really makes a difference.

When when I'm -- the only guy coaches don't announcer goalies.

Did you know that you know -- we -- and we're going true the other changing. You don't we have to file. It just means your players -- to go through -- just studying won their critical trip to follow the goal from. From what the goal is to ensure jokes. You know we have a digital library Foreman. -- sturdier. But he they're positioning and I just think it's Lou -- it work for the other team and why help promote.

Well the moment try and do this I know you'll still never tell us the answer but you realize it's our job to try and backdoor this as much as possible. So what's your what's your philosophy and just play in the hot guy.

You know -- really I played very Jonas and the back to back situation. You know in part of that what's -- The reason that you should it well fortunate for. But I also -- have a real real tough stretch games coming out -- and and we need -- goaltenders roll and -- really like to stick to a schedule that we put together or.

When you talk about your schedule. Do you put that together week -- week. Month by month did you put together before the season began how does the schedule and you can tweak it could you said you have three times already but how does the schedule work.

You know you sit and you look at their home countries and into look at the back to back games should look at this -- and or the S seven and eleven. Weeks that are for a six. You -- probably pieced together. How many teams your goaltenders will get. You start the week. It really up when the schedule trying to get put together and we tell the goaltenders. Here's where it looks like it doesn't mean that the back end of the week and can't change in the and I welcome that before you know the possibility that. You don't we have a real good night as a team and the workload slow. Goaltenders played well we media. You know we -- stadium -- dual -- stay with their Ryan. In some situations and -- our trip from Florida where. You are rare -- low activity tonight -- Or example we actually went back -- Are you look at our schedule now though would be. You know three games -- side nature in the next week here we have four and six. It's it's -- heavy schedule and really feel it's important that we do have fresh goaltender and some of those situations. And just the fact that we -- many back to back games all the more easily.

out -- that yesterday's probably right we that we over analyze this you know we talk about it it's it's what we do. How much time goes into that decision for for tonight's game is it. Thirty seconds is that a good five minute discussion with your sister coaches with the pool with which of course Jimmy how much goes into the decision.

Thank and that really honestly on this one I have my decision made up after the game and in Ottawa. On on where it was going with. The game tonight shall. You know bidders. Where we collaborate as the staff. What the changing course C and and there are some decisions that I just -- myself as go.

So I am just pausing to taking your last day amendment in trying to get into your head and figure out where your mind would have been Saturday night around 10 o'clock -- so. Do you when you look at your goaltending I you've talked about sketch you talk to you went into the season saying you know like sixty ish games for Ryan twenty -- whatever. For Jonas and -- you still look at and go present -- played really well. Miller's clearly my number one guy I'm still sticking to the plan of sixty's games or you know say I got a one day I got a one B may be -- tweak that may be it's you know 5030. Give me your thoughts on that.

You know it if you -- Went when you look at you know Ryan got off -- great start very even come back to back in your report one that. You know there there's a situation that we spent a good deal of time. You know on the flight over. You know talking about as late as it got whether we go back Ryan or not -- whether we are you and we didn't really like the way you Ryan it played in the first came over there. The fact that -- got a game in Mannheim -- weighed in on that decision but it you know it was a late night 4:30 in the morning you know you'd discuss. A little bit of fatigue factor and the last period was pretty busy for Ryan. But we decided at the end of that. You don't have to -- a pretty city so -- as we decide to go back financial. I'd look at it more of you know it's it's a one a and one B I think both pulled goaltender Sarah. You know -- are capable of you know putting in real good stretches force saying. Again I -- picnic and -- and Apollo -- I think it is forced to have that we haven't had that luxury before.

It'll allow all.

You know -- goaltenders we get there -- they're working and away from the game. Which in the past and again Ryan's case what was custom -- and now we can get some valuable working and that I mean it's 5030 does that mean it's sixty. You know 6022. I think as the season goes on you know you you make those adjustments. On how your goaltenders. Are playing and how they feel.

Now I just say you know we haven't forgotten they're still like twenty other skaters on his team and there's a game tonight but I have one other question about this. In terms of Ryan. Lindy talk a little bit about of all the stuff that you think about when you're trying to make the decision on -- schedules and who's playing and on a day by day basis. -- do you worry at all about Ryan's psyche he's been the number one guy he's got the big contract he's been the franchise guy. He's one regular season games he's one playoff games for you and I'm curious when you take into account who's playing. He's missed a couple games and sure he was angry that he didn't play Saturday. How much do you factor in where's it's at that how's he gonna react.

While again you know what's important is it ongoing. Conversations -- and you don't strike and I met yesterday. You know we're.

We talked -- You know the recent situation which it I think is really important you know I want to understand where he's at I think yes I understand work. Were you know war -- When it comes to who's gonna start. And you know I feel like yesterday he was he was in a good place. -- UN should play well for sure we gave them that that Dexter game. And there are nothing really changes I think it'll Brian -- the boat we spend way too much time analyzing the situation. Because it's interesting to talk about it can give me in your -- Kasich it's a great topic. So you better goaltender that. This step in and got some good numbers the story was good last year nobody thought we could make -- real loose -- renews Miller. And Ross steps in the -- does nor real good job for. And we would have never made the playoffs without. I consider ourselves to have one heck of a lot tree here and if we can never used utilized both these guys and they may be your -- a little more than we thought. It can always be to our advantage.

All right. Power we should be ready I'm ready to move on to other topics let you know are you OK if we move on to beyond the going to leave it -- like -- and it's a good topic that helps -- and we -- four hours of -- days -- zone and other.

No -- I mean it this isn't really it and I think if you look around the league did it. It's a topic probably in. In. Six or seven other city. That the same type the topic where these so called. You know starter this year some time somebody else but it's usually what -- it is good starter. --

I let the other players that you've been trying to get around Ville Leino the last couple games I think most people watching the games would say. That's on the line you've got -- right now seems to be. Trending up it seems to be out there some positive progress in two great.

I would agree it and I think a big part of that is. You know Derek Roy's players trending up and he he is the guys are capable of making the players around them look a lot better. And we skiing skating and making plays. A lot of good things happened so you know Leino and in -- have been together almost since training camp. You know a little bit of today and that's we tried him at certain -- staff for the -- where. You know now law. You know Derrick Stafford played a lot together you know -- says that -- is -- a little political piece of missile. I I like the way he skated and skated really well the last couple games. And field below you know a lot more comfortable out there and I think it's certainly show.

How -- is that for you -- if you get Roy Roy Stafford -- world. Another someone beyond Adam Vatican common -- going in terms of the scoring load.

I think it is very important because you know I think you're seeing that have been a little tail off the media in in the -- line. When it comes to the scoring party constrain the quality chances -- gone down to get a lot more attention from other teams. He also called you know checking line or they see the other team's top defense appear so it's important that. Are the lines are able to ensure score you goals to north -- the dot deadline with the boys and Serbia. It'll got a -- goal the other night registered great battle by Kirby. And again -- deflected shot -- them and -- had. The ball on the spot scoring -- or so. When your top line -- get me get any attention to the other team's top -- prayer and rather their top line to keep -- the board. Underlined you're gonna have to work -- our current secondary scoring force.

you mentioned red boys talk a little about his game because he seems to be coming around the last I don't know weaker so when he seems to be getting around the net and making some more plays -- he's looked comfortable on the power play to.

Yeah you know he's been in on some great opportunities are our power play is this Libya is made a great place they just haven't cashed in and then. -- Been on the end of that a couple of times where you'd like a couple of shots back you know a couple of them just a couple of inches higher. You know the power play. Really against Calgary had I don't know try to receive moved the puck so well it -- type opportunities but didn't think I missed opportunities in. We got take a little bit of throughout tried him on being a little harder on some of those talks and make sure that. They end up in the back of the net but I. Being a Brad K he's a great -- We we tried to put him in a situation where he can utilized that. You know Derek I think you saw in the air in the shootout. Situation great snapshot and that the quick release -- We and we watchman practiced. You know he's deadly -- so we're trying to put him in a situation where he can be utilized. Those too little bit more.

Lindy Ruff -- this year and WGR sabres in Winnipeg tonight at seven at the Eric at the center and we'll have it for you here beginning at six of our pregame show. The other day Darcy resigned on Friday Lindy with which opened -- and -- were talking about Christian -- off. And they were they were talking about how he's such a great shot but he -- some issues the -- been blocked exits -- trying to get the shot through. Darcy mention that you -- the coaches they're working on some things try to do some things what can do to take more advantage of what looks to be a really good shot for you guys from the point.

Organic a lot pima a couple of better looks. He's getting a little bit of that added attention I think part of that is you know had a good preceding. -- other teams have done their homework or were trying to. You know get him away from the the weak side of the racing -- a -- meant to the the strong side where. It may weaken that you'd like such shock from the top of the diamond on our power play and cannot always album in the in in the same situation. I think now you -- we've got to cared for Greg and -- this one guy that can get them apart and give them you know a couple lecture looks especially when you're in this old. Mark is probably one number you know better arise when it comes finding people and input have been in the right spot and probably one of our best passers on the team soul you know week we try to couple thanks there's been a couple look tribute light.

And I think that you know we get a little bit of China here. We want to -- with a.

Winnipeg tonight any. And joining us -- about about the jets over the franchise getting back in the NHL.

If you don't want. -- there is a little nostalgia I mean it's but any player. You talk about what do they -- the it. When you're cold air to win hauling down forty Jack and you have about thirty mile an hour and how cold -- can be -- in the middle of winter but it. It's a tremendous hockey city and you know I think for me it in or remembering the world hockey league and Bobby hall or merit so. I got a lot. You know -- I don't want -- bad memory -- wanna hear that there was absolutely spent an idea. I wielding that like like a younger skilled defensemen and that putter right on Howard Howard struck stick in -- Any input in the back of the net almost like what -- did last year. They didn't get another ship the risks of the game and don't ever forget that.

I'm gonna take his 518 gold total and scratch one off if they legitimately be at 517.

Michigan in -- of our well I imagine it's on the for the induction ceremony. All are -- they can no longer duplicate this powerful offenses committed and if you don't forget some of those. Especially into the current.

Elizabeth for that you go Linda I know your your your -- it is on hockey but we brought up other we know your sports then we brought up other things over the time with you on the shows. Joseph Frazier passed away at the age of 67 yesterday where you boxing fan at all growing up did you member did you watch Ali or Frazier and these guys.

Down goes Frazier at that that's the most famous. It really you know and I think when Mohammed Ali was gonna trying to win their traitor and I want to boxing and I'm not you know -- kind of boxing has been kind of removed now her. Has really been anybody that you know I've wrapped my arms around -- you know had a reason to watch -- back and there was I was now leafs fan and -- boxing was on I would watch it there -- some -- from classic. Match is they're Joseph within an -- it was and I think back then boxing was bigger -- a lot of people.

Yeah definitely wants. I Lindy thanks very much appreciate you spending a whole budget time. One last chance like last call you know for drinks ratify had a fantasy team and I was gonna start a sabres goalie and the the penguins suggests that.

Well you guys you know -- you've got hit you yet another good hour and perhaps achieve our -- this -- on around a little bit more.

We can't wait -- good in the next segment you can't -- coming right up next thank you -- good luck tonight. --

Which June scenario would you rather see the Sabres pursue?
