Around here -- fans still holding on to hope for the bills to be a playoff team of course there aren't as many as there were two weeks ago. But those that are probably hoping that the jets are the team here maybe the best. The most realistic idea of these top teams is that the jets who and fall apart a little bit -- do you see that. Being possible that. What exactly possible because -- me think about the dynamics of what they're doing and they're now doing a completely different type of offense but they've never faced. I need that they've never faced they read option type of offense and because they have this short week it had to travel. They had almost. No practice time to be able to work -- -- -- literally be on the field trying to talk to each other trying to figure out how the -- read option now. I'm sure a lot of the guys that just came out of college are familiar with the but a lot of the veteran guys they buy they're not gone against better haven't gone against the and so many years there's going to be a refresher courses so. I kind of look at this for the jets almost like it's no schemer a ready game where the elements are. -- restraint because. They're gonna be out there just playing football. They don't know exactly if not they can't be over prepared because the going to be under prepared and that could cause of the problem because of communication is going to break down. -- to read options they make double the wrong read. Next thing you know people -- getting yard slant ball gaining yards and so that's gonna I think it's going to be that fascinating part of this game morally -- the intelligence -- the jets' defense. And all protesters speed. But look but that's as far as pure talent between the two teams in the they kept the wind the far superior team. John for what changes. Teams tend to make in the middle of seasons. Tell tell me about just how extensive Denver's. You know may go over on offense is that it seems to me from way out here that they've done a lot. I think. Compared to if you have an HDTV and all of a sudden you go to black and white but how dramatic it is because they've virtually eliminate the asking. -- they've now gone to any offense that really has not been run in this league since. I don't know maybe the yet. Seventy somewhere like that and so -- the read option type of thing it -- another at different times may be when Hanks stranded some information and. Does it -- some of those by the think we concede wildcat plays but that is the most extensive change I can remember. In most recent years because it's a complete college office now. If you're gonna be so one dimensional and try to run the ball like this. You're gonna sustained injuries as they already have and at one out of bodies at some point so this is one where. Enjoy it while you can enjoy it because you're not going to be enjoying it too much longer. Got -- thorough I guess so there is a shelf life go in for a few weeks if not a season like Miami was almost a season. When they made the playoffs with that offense. Our or that while capping a big part of their offense at least. With house Denver's timing here is you see it as a good enough for the weak division that they can actually win it. Now all I can't see them I missed this is not gonna last too much longer I mean this is one where. I guess somebody's gonna get hurt everywhere already got my -- com arena with a major knee injury -- a lot -- made. -- Willis McGahee he's questionable for the game with a hamstring. They're they're down the Lance Ball they're Donna Jeremiah Johnson and what you hope doesn't happen could happen which is and people get hurt because now. I was gonna rely on him running the football. Itself. It really comes down to the jets' offense. If the jets offense goes out there and perform like it should remember this is not a very good defense with the Broncos out that you know this could be -- people a lot. But also to if they allow all the Broncos to hang in the game the interest because if you put attempting to go near that goal line. He's gonna get a -- -- that he can score with his -- and really kind of some problems. John Clayton along of course I'm Mike show Bulldog is not here today this is WGR. Okay John the bills top -- their jet lost with an ugly Euro loss against Dallas. What do you think of their prospects. I think that they can may be squeezed but that but despite the issues -- that this Miami game at Miami getting a little bit more motivated. But they've got to win this game because I mean really get stopped after this in that they lose this game. Then it -- they're kind of like a higher than just -- the air knocked out of it is gonna be hard to re inflate the tire because it's. -- things -- now been resolved and the concern that has always been there is injuries. And the injuries are starting to mount up but he does not have enough depth and the the injuries -- -- Eric what was huge. I -- the one. A lot of the calling around the CO OK who with some of the global guys that you would look at on certain teams and what name up there I mean he would he -- -- -- Good year he was considered the best offensive line middle east -- -- -- -- at least consider that on the team but losing him hurts. -- -- not at Demetrius Bell restart it was combinations and go through this and you know there's no pass rush you know there's a lot of other injuries summit it's going to be tough. If you're talking about Denver's offense being so limited -- and worked for a little bit but not a long time. I wonder John if the bills offense hasn't suffered for that a little bit but there's just not that much vertical and it. And the other spreads fine I think it's the future myself I'm on board all that the running game's been good. But it's just a still a lot not not a lot of good adjustments at least in my eyes that I can see it's you know so Lance and in quick passes. And I've wanted to see them do more down the field but it's an easy thing to say I guess. It's an easy thing to say that also too that's the latest leak is gone and I think we talked about it a little bit I talked about it a lot. Because when you try to match up. With man to man defenses against teams that don't have great speed that's like for example. The classic example the Baltimore Ravens are right so that's the reason they trade separately -- They needed that guys that they -- -- get on the field right now they can even get them on the field because of his ankle injury and. -- really kind of wondering at that trade with the disaster not so far as that. But you need that threat on the outside because you'll. One of the things that you know from the -- and it's spread the field. But -- -- predators out there on the ball the ruling part of its -- is the passing offense second but running opposite. But the spread formations sets up the one but it you can go out there. Man up against the receivers or take them away. Then it's very difficult to execute the -- at the that -- -- what happened right now that for us. Speed guy -- big outside threat is helpful -- that's where -- need the outside threat because. To get down field if you bottle things up. It's going to come eventually like -- and all the sudden image here's. The quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick -- for an average of 250 yards a game Balco -- 210 -- to -- the yards for kept him start to go down. When that happens you're not bottled up and that's what happened to this topic is so that's why. They need to open some things up Miami can place them man but they've got to beat the man and try to get the ball out there I agree -- -- percent. Well of course they were four and one in five and two and we talked a little bit fancier wondered a few times. If this was legit or if it was 2008 again and I remember talking to you in no way. Two you know you're down that the your your bones as far as your depth and so that's -- I think it's really affected this team and that's not to say that. -- can't do it but he was not brought here to be a wide receiver and so that's great coaching. But still -- the threats and that's I think something that have to now be addressed in the draft. I guess the one thing it's better than say a couple years ago when they had a good start and everything kind of went. Is that this looks like it's becoming a better team and now there's a commitment you know the quote the quarterback's going to be particularly. But he signed a long term deal and they like him as a quarterback so they can still build from it that the one thing that. Has always irritated me in the last ten years about the bills they've never -- the deal. And -- it irritates me that. Still a running back its sitting into the contract that he straight and another running back comes then they'll and the wide receivers get that -- the contract and he's gonna quarterback at the end of the contract. At least now what the long term commitment that they have to Fitzpatrick. I think you're the better positioned to build unless some well. Either the AFC playoff picture as it as it stands now or just pick the teams in the north I do wanna get to Houston a little bit but. Cincinnati losing a tough game to Pittsburgh did did you change your mind at all either way. And there are legitimacy to will. I -- -- they're legitimate and and they are and I know and it comes from the Steelers and they're not ones to. Well I've bragged about other teams they were bragging about the bank and they had great respect for Andy -- they called him fearless they say that you can not you can not rattle him. They can't they love this guy. Not that they amazed now to come back on him because he's that good. They know that AJ Green is fantastic. They note that they've done a nice job in Cincinnati -- -- that type I still think. They'll be brought down to earth particularly this weakening because. I don't think AJ Green is going to play and that and one thing that the steeler defenders did say if you take AJ Green wave from Andy Dalton. They have no chance of winning I think that's gonna. Come back on and then they lose will be on hold their best quarterback he it's gonna. Achilles scared so I think that you know it'll. They'll lose -- -- gains to Pittsburg and other data port interest to get it to -- one game against Baltimore I think they'll beat Cleveland itself. They'll still be in the wild card race for the last spot. And there are legitimate as far as thirteen to be able to do it but I think -- the other string here where they're gonna lose three out of four because just things are gonna work against them but not they're for real -- complacent football. And they do play Houston at some point. Which of course lost its quarterback. What do you think here's my prediction on Houston John I say they still when that division but in the playoffs -- ago. I agree there one and a simple -- that because. And what they do get their quarterback back which doesn't look at it as Alyssa frank they still have. Not gotten the second opinion and saying that okay fine he's done for the year but looks like he's done for the year. They can't go anywhere outlining the quarterback and therefore the numbers are so significant deal. Child when he drawn between eleven and forty yards complete 70% of his passes the last time the Weiner had extended playing time as a starter he completed 50% of -- passes. And he'll he doesn't have a strong of an arm and met chopped. And so they'll be able to stick up with eight guys nine guide to the line of scrimmage try to take away the longer run. Force them to make some throws and going to be counting on routes and so. Still don't double team Andre Johnson so what would normally -- -- 250 yards 260 yards offense for passing it probably going to be I'd say 190 to 200. And that's gonna make a -- -- can I think they can win three games they have three winnable games. And that would probably put them and but they could lose one and that they go to -- down the stretch in Tennessee might have a chance to come back. Okay about that the giants play the Eagles Sunday night and the giants had a nice season the Eagles have not. I've got to think that's a terribly embarrassing loss for them you've got this thing about Kevin -- calling up the plays and just how bad is it for the Eagles and how much steel like the giant team. I like the guy and he I don't like this stretch of gains and I think they can win particularly -- Michael Vick doesn't play. And knowing how distracted in disjointed the Eagles are at this state. So I think that this is a win for the giants but then I don't feel good about the next few weeks Connecticut New Orleans and Green. And then on the flip side look at the Dallas Cowboys this schedule is so easy now this may be able propped against Washington but I look at Washington as a team. It's probably not gonna -- game the rest of the year there are horrible on -- and they went back to Rex Grossman. And he completed more passes to defenders and he does -- the players so. Going to be bad then they come back Miami on Thanksgiving that's the way and then they come back with Arizona after that. That's the way and so they're gonna be sitting there at 84. And there's a decent chance that that guy's gonna be 75 with a big game coming up in Dallas. Right they have not played each other yet. Now the game against each other and I think Dallas it's the first home game of the series. And that that's the case then they might be a good amount a two game lead into the final three weeks of the season. Okay. Miami where you said a little bit before but just a quick a quick other take on them just how low. How nervous. Would you be -- -- -- bills fan about how about Miami given that they've won two in -- -- I don't be nervous just from the standpoint that they've got nothing to lose and then the coach is gonna get fired at the end of the year. But they like him and they're playing hard Foreman you know I got to figure a couple weeks ago that they would start to win some games because. They do have -- Brandon Marshall wide receiver Reggie Bush is doing some good things the net and good. Deepen the players they get an underachieving all -- so they're dangerous -- now because. There's nothing to lose there's nothing to gain -- just going out there and the -- the ball and they've got enough talent that they can win so when you put that altogether Matt Moore is at least. Done some good things that quarterback but he's not that good of a quarterback. So it's really gonna come down to making sure that. You know the one thing the dolphins cannot do is they do good things in the red zone they -- absolutely horrid so those touchdown drive. As long as they state field goal drive second to build a chance to try to win the game to keep a close. Okay and questions. Are what it -- -- thank. I don't talk about it at the -- that anyway -- Not hosting and I enjoy. It admittedly enjoyed the the freedom of you're great await team on Thanksgiving I love to play on the road on Thanksgiving I know about -- Detroit I'm not I'm not the kind of guy that wants to be home every year. It is a lot of work. Yeah that's a good point are you on the road Thanksgiving -- noticed. A little bit of work and then just. It's good food and have some fun. Of it but it's like -- -- street football games. Are you excited about the additional wildcard team and each league in baseball. I think I am. I think what it does that -- you -- in my opinion based also is stacked for Boston and the just and the Yankees to be able to make the playoffs virtually every year. -- -- another team a chance to get in their two other teams that can't get -- next on the baseball I've been very critical but ceiling but I actually think he's starting a -- good thing. This is a good move giving. Houston or in the would be the American League west is that they could could move dues so -- like -- like some of the things -- -- -- I like this one game playoff to its not my nature -- usually hate new things. And I I do lot of pop. It's not gonna like it he says it's such a traditionalist that's okay. I'm OK if there are no wild cards but if you're gonna do it I think this is kind of a -- no way to do it.
