Hi everybody good morning I'm Mike show thanks for listening to WGR and a hobby for this week. Battling a little bit of a thing stale but glad to be on -- to have an hour every week -- icann and talk about cards and not have the worry that my wife will be occasionally. Creeping up from another room behind secure right in here. But you know I'm I'm assume I like to assume people are listening to that it's not what is weird is -- -- guy sitting alone in a room talking to himself about cards. The Heisman Trophy tonight. 76. Times the award has been handed out although there are only seven before. Recognized. Winners. Mets because Archie Griffin won twice in the mid seventies and that's because Reggie Bush had to turn his award back in. And I think as often as all talk about. Themes for collections like I get the email very often. It's confusing to me it's been along time what do I do they say back you'll hear me say that if you listened to callers. I sit back figure out what you like most about sports and -- pinpoint that. And build some kind of a collection around that and I think the Heisman. Is a great idea for football fan who likes college sports college football's -- pros are also likes college football. -- what. What really makes it a great idea to me is the same reason why for me -- Super Bowl MVPs are great idea. While I think certain baseball themes like the MVP or rookie of the year got a friend who collects rookie of the year. A sign baseballs. Why I think those are such good ideas is because. It's the right kind it's the right extent of a challenge. And here's what I mean by that it's not too hard it's not too easy. If it's if you're only collecting. I don't know whatever it is like something really tough. In need a lot of guys who have died he need a lot of guys who just just don't do very many. Signatures is whatever the case may be if you can and figure out a call if you -- here's one this kind of silly. 500 game winners in baseball. Right and there's one cy young's idea to go to the Cy Young autograph -- -- once and is not hard because it's only one guy but anyway. When it when it's tough like that I think you can lose your your spirit for it I'm someone who gets distracted easily and its -- easily. It's not a great combination so I'll go into a certain idea and then after that too long a period of time I'll be don't put it. You don't -- seemed to be too hard. And neither do you want it to be too easy computers collecting. You know something that you could pick up these autographs for one or two dollars online all the time or they're just people you know me I don't know I don't have a specific example. Yeah you want it to be the right balance between difficult and easy Super Bowl MVPs is that. It's Tom Brady and Peyton Manning and Roger Stahl -- and -- You know a lot of the game's greats but it's also Dexter Jackson and shock how Lee and Larry Brown -- -- put those guys down but. Those are cheaper autographs so you can build your -- toward the total collection without spending a lot of money. And I think the Heisman is similar than that the Heisman is a bigger collection of guys in Super Bowl MVPs about double. And you a couple things about that list which will add by one tonight and probably be Robert Griffin of Baylor who'll win. One when you look at the very early days the Heisman Trophy. The first two winners. Very well done profiles in Sports Illustrated about a decade ago about about Kelly was actually kind of sad but. He lived a long life he lived in -- around that time 2000 and or maybe a couple years later than that. So those photographs are out there the toughest guy on the list would probably be Nile Kinect. If you don't know that name Nile can pick one I think in 41. And died in World War II at the age of 25 university of Iowa. University of Iowa. Plays football games -- -- stadium name for -- connect and by the way for cards. He's in the 1955. Tops all American set which is a set. Early popular one of former college greats and there are some guys who are well known and pro football too but in 1955. So Nile kinetic and if you're collecting Heisman signatures I'm thinking his would be the hardest. How many. How many Heisman winners. Our men who are in the college football hall of fame and the pro football's time how many guys you think that is 76. Heisman. Trophies. Reggie Bush lost his Archie Griffin won twice -- that's basically you're working that's your last how many of those guys are in the hall of fame in both. College football and pro football. Before I give the answer let me ask Matthew if you might -- if you might -- guests. How many should be a way that they -- getting around is the right number here in the pro football fame and the college football -- I don't go to college football thing that well. But it's almost dislike or use common sense right most these guys could be in the college football and they won the Heisman Trophy. I would think a small number maybe eleven. Not a bad guess. Eight. Or eight guys have you wanted to collect. You know there's just there's no end to the number of ideas that that's a list you could collect a collective group. Pro football fame college football fame Heisman Trophy we get to that list by the way is not too long. I've chronological order -- walker 1948. Member -- walker -- about him and SI to once. Very important figure -- Ricky Williams life -- walker. So you have him that you have Roger stop -- from sixty well actually skip all morning all morning. Notre Dame 56 -- -- from navy and 63. OJ Simpson. Tony door sat Earl Campbell back to back years. Marcus Allen and Barry Sanders that I mean we just read nine names. 1234567. I can't count apparently I think today. Told walker all morning Roger -- -- OJ Simpson Tony Dorsett Earl Campbell. Marcus Allen. And Barry Sanders. That's. You have some great college players who were only pretty good pro players right. Herschel Walker. Vinny Testaverde. Doug Flutie. Eddie George guys who were good pro players but not hall of famers after that there's. You know a certain higher level. And last year's winner Cam Newton of course is off to a pretty good start so Heisman Trophy winners is certainly one area. That you could go to in and -- be -- a long lasting challenge to collect those signatures okay. The phone number is 8030550. Am here for any kind of questions at all that relate to collecting. What to buy when to sell something one of my god what is this what I do with it anything like that that's. Something that I can hopefully answer for -- -- give -- call if you like 8030550. It is of course the holiday season. And I would like to give you one. Quick tip while I'm thinking about that case those -- you driving around some of driving around our shopping in this is likely. And you be thinking about time someone maybe is. Is a box of cards baseball cards whatever sport a good idea for a gift but my only advice would be of course I would say yes. My only advice would be don't spend. In the Qaeda -- decent money say 5050 box sixty box. Don't spend fifty to sixty dollars on a box of cards a new box of cards. Thinking about whether or not it will appreciate in value. It's too it's too low when a -- these days. If you spend a hundred dollars on a box or 200 dollars on the box and that. You know that option exists for you these days there are many different products with many different price points if you -- to spend a harder more. Certainly if it's way more absolutely. You'd wanna be thinking about. Whether or not you could make money on that saying that your odds are any better any -- necessarily. Just that you're spending. You know common sense you're spending big money like that. -- -- Might not just be doing it. So you can read the backs and gas guys stats and then put them in bike spokes so. I would say 5060 dollars though you might still think that's not -- you might still think that amount of money can be. And investment type thing and you know it it can't be doesn't have to not be but it's just not that. Solid one you wanna make money at this as hard as it is it's it's through buying singles. And investing in certain players or getting lucky in wax it's really not. Buying -- box building a set and putting it away. That there is. The like I suppose the likelihood. That the possibility of that growing over time that's a lot of people do but I just kind of think that. Once we all figured out in card collecting but -- wise. Money to be made the -- and that avenue sort of shut down. For that and yeah if you have sets from the eighties there. May be worth more now than they were then they also might not be. I just don't think it's stashing. Boxes are stashing sets you can do that with an open whacks you're really hot product or there is one that. You know couple two or three or more. Big rookies are -- and and you wanna put them away not open it that's that's one thing but. Opening the cards in the sets together and then putting them in a long white box up and up top on a shelf in your closet. And then what you know finding out in ten years one that's -- I don't think that this there's much potential there. Appeared in spending 5060 dollars on a box cars hoping to make money I'd say put your money somewhere else now if you have. A nephew say somebody needs son daughter whatever. Someone who. You like the idea of them. Opening cards and reading them and sorting them and playing with them. And you know this is an idea I do endorse if you know you have kids who were into that in this. Electronically. Mad world if your kids who were an old school like that. Then that's about the most you wanna spend -- you can spend less. And get -- you need right there right you don't need to spend as -- matter how much money it is does that. -- just looking for the enjoyment. Of Reading about the guys in looking at the pictures. And all that and there are cheaper sets cheaper boxes. Then fifty or sixty box that can accomplish that for you. So while -- there you go hope that helps. Speaking of Christmas. I learned I aghast that I wanna say had learned kind of a tough lesson. That you do learn as a new parent my oldest is to have got two kids. And he has totally. He's it's now totally on with Santa Claus. He's old enough now -- does he know we as. But my son is it has quite the vocabulary and -- converse is about San and yes all kinds of questions about a man. It's -- kind of think Santa is coming over every day. So no but he knows who he is and he he wants where we're doing that we're doing the same thing with -- excited about -- And my wife and I thought bullets you know let's take him to see Santa. Right that's what you do located at some point take them. -- to meet Santa Claus. So the original plan was for us to do that today but then there was the opportunity. For us to take our son to and daughter to meet Santa Claus last night at Kelly's country store on Grand Island. Which is where I met Santa Claus for the first times where my mom took took me and my sisters. Percent I was at Kelly's kind of -- island tradition you might say. So it's at 6 o'clock says -- six and I'm off yesterday. -- just open them up all day I'm super excited to share this moment with them and we're gonna go to -- at 6 o'clock and see Santa. And my wife narrowed to a couple things we decide to skip their few minutes early. Because you know who knows what kind of crowded is and like little kids right we need to eat at a certain time and need to go to bed at a certain time it's early rigid. So 6 o'clock we get there and it's it's just -- and there it's nuts. The -- Rome where San comes in through the chimney by the way which is a nice touch. It's just packed and I see that there are ropes and there are people facing. The wrong way. In line which tells me that this is a snaking line and I just don't know what were in -- there and it's quarter to six. So 6 o'clock Santa comes down the chimney and he's got a little speech which you know OK I mean. Their kids there were 101112 years old and they might appreciate the humor. Of his reindeer named nervous and you know of these. Eighteen to twenty year old female elves that he's brought with like whatever okay you know it's kind of got a for the adults -- a two year old guy who just wants to sit on his lap wave TO. So whenever I mean that's the way it goes kids lots of different ages are there. So it's six and it's 650 and it's 630 it's 645 it's seven we have barely moved his line two year old. On my shoulders I've never been able to contain him for an hour like this before he's looking -- and a cause we are moving inches. In this line Santa's got kids out of -- 510 minutes. Telling me I don't wanna talk about the hockey game I ordered -- So I'm finally like Mike IDs to run around -- starts walking around and at about quarter after seven this was a very sad moment for me. A quarter after seven he goes daddy I want to go home. So we did. And I'm I'm sure. I mean I'm sure somebody got to see -- 510 minutes earlier. I hope it was before midnight. Because it was just a nightmare. So the first time going out to see -- was a disaster. Because it was just so slow. I had no idea what I was getting into and you know like if you've got. Ten year old kid in the capital video games and wherever it's probably fine. And you've got a two year old it's a disaster. When you're waiting like that to see Santa Claus they were talking about a new show that they heard news coming on the radio yeah well on that when the talk about. Distorted time references that right. Who is is on line one. Only David sorry David is where the -- WGR hi David. Got an all right. -- -- just you were talking earlier votes in a different types of things to collect different scenes that people can collect this. I've I've been the collectors and you know since I was is a little kid but. That that's kind of what kept me going through dry spell is finding different scene to collect different things the kind of make the -- on again instead of just. Kind of being dredged that it can be sometimes when you're chasing down that you're chasing down single thing that. I just wanted to get your opinion of what you think of some of the more. For about lack of a better term obscure product through some of the won the unlicensed ones. But have some really great value -- -- in the but they just don't seem to get. The -- love from people. Like I'm thinking of example for. You can get the new. Gold standard Kindle which is roughly -- 200 dollars a box. And then have a lot of rookies Signet signature -- football. But then you look at the product that's put out by -- You could probably by. -- I've climbed as much product for the same price. Get the same autograph but people don't seem to tend to look at these unlicensed product -- -- do the light. -- you're so right here yeah you're you're so right the -- that's definitely true and as long as you have an appetite for that you can definitely. Do more buying which is which which is what you said. So that's true why that is I don't exactly know there might be a variety -- reasons but I am one of those people who. I'm response by most people's responsible for David like I I I always. Why don't see -- my nose to the all licensed products but it's almost all it is like I just don't. I almost just don't think they exist if they don't have the logos on them. And I don't know why doesn't have to be like that and I think it's a Smart play to do what you're talking about me get more fun out of it more stuff. The autograph some of those in the game hockey. Products with autographs or just as good as any other product you know. Who absolutely and that is that that's sort of been like I tend to collect. Be in the game products and I'm -- really excited for the -- product that's coming out. Because they they tend to have people packaged in them that you don't find in the quote unquote mainstream releases. Yet they've done a super job there. Date they have not had -- licensing rights to have for for the the league. The NHL forever they've never had it. But they're always coming out with new angles and doing the best they can the guy who runs -- company -- did a mature he still does. But in -- will Mike Bryan Price was on the show once talking about that in just what a lot of challenges to struggle it is to keep up. You know without those licensing rights but I'm glad you made this point I would say if you're not so particular. You know may be it is like -- -- before kind of the little stubby about it if you're not like that and you just want the guys you just want the stuff than on licenses better and you can really tell without you can ask to. The guy behind the counter there at a card store but you can really tell without without doing that which ones don't have the rights because they do you'll see the logo you'll see the Dallas Cowboys helmet whatever you'll notice right away whether. Whether it beats that product or not and you know in hockey it's in the game which is heavily heavily toward team Canada. It's different this agent football you've had college guys guys coming into the draft were in their college uniforms. There's a lot to be said for those products in the -- run cheaper as David told us. Thanks for the call good point. 8030550. Is the number I'm -- show back with more on the hobby after sports here on WGR. Scenes from earlier this morning on the hobby courtesy of -- collar. A caller named David called up and you know the the point about the dredge that it can be I don't find it quite that. But if you mean if he meant that when your. Building a set and it's may be a parallel set or something on this is not readily available. And you get to a point where you just have to kind of sit and wait for something the -- If you mean like that you know sort of took its stock. That can happen with my Super Bowl MVP helmets. I've been stock on. I think about ten or 112 goal for months. And it's not because I'm not interested and that's spending every day searching for them like maybe I was in the beginning. It's because I'm not going to compromise on them and if I wanted. If I wanted to finish the collection. I mean any both Manning's any Brady and -- Aaron Rodgers I need Emmitt Smith to spend north of a thousand dollars to finish this. If I wanted to finish it. I could easily do that. Spending on helmets that either don't have the MVP inscription that Taiwan. Or our way overpriced because they're sitting their buy it now like the majority of collectibles on eBay. Or that the autograph has an autograph that's questionable. Meant that any autograph you don't see. Signed is not questionable to some extent but you know. Some guy with fifteen feedback. Is out there are selling a Tom Brady helmet and the autograph doesn't look quite right and he only wants seventy box. Then well I'm not about doing Mike is gonna do it at any cost sort of speak so now if you wanna do right. Then you have to be patient and with that there are times. When you just you're you get to sort of a dead end. Emmett Smith is an interest in one for me though I look at commencement all the time he's very interesting signature. And his prices are really high which you know I guess but. Lot of several MVPs are also great players and hall of famers and their prices aren't as high about all right whatever he's entitled. And I just that I have not come close. Anything with Emmitt Smith's signature on it and that's very interesting to me. It's mostly the new guys that I the -- a tough time finding Santonio Holmes with the Super Bowl MVP inscription on it. Which you do see for those guys sometimes. Is that hell is a helmet with the Super Bowl logo. Or whatever year it was that Super Bowl logo you see that. But I've not on eBay for a period of months seen a Santonio Holmes mini helmet Steelers. With his writing Super Bowl MVP on it whatever. Suitable that was an -- some. Combination of x.s and Els and these denies or something. So lets you know if that's all it is if you don't want to. Change course or start you know just compromise whatever dirty your your standards are then you will. Get to a point where you're just kind of sitting sitting there and I'll say this what you should do that -- probably. And this is something I've not -- meg good at. What you should do -- is nine. By something else or change those standards should do that is put money aside so then when Tom Brady comes along and isn't. Know double the price it should be from somebody who just has it and would sell it. It isn't counterfeit. Then you can afford to do it without two as much strain. So that's some that's my advice there. I should tell you that after today's show is over I am headed with a friend who Batavia. For a car show which is today and tomorrow pretty big show I would say. They're calling at the sports collectors expo in Batavia today and tomorrow. It is that the clarion hotel on park road in Batavia. I don't just. From memory nowhere that is I'm giving you did the locations he can find out. And the website is the purple people eaters dot com. There will be many ex bills there today and some tomorrow to. It's not only ex bills but I counted on their schedule today I counted sixteen. Former bills scheduled to attend autograph -- usually in the ten dollar range 1015 box Marv Levy -- 245 Marv Levy will be there today from one to thirty. Shane Connolly in total Lama earlier threats moralists in from Boston. And many a dozen or so AFL bill's guys will be at this a event today or scheduled to. And it's tomorrow to Leonard Smith Scott Norwood Cornelius Bennett. Will be there tomorrow bills play a late game -- -- can get there and men do wish do the bills game afterward if your interest and five bucks to get intend reported a ten to three tomorrow the clarion hotel I would think. Often there is a a core relation between how many -- -- that the magnitude if you will of the guests. And what kind of dealer. What I wanna say how how many dealers there are and I don't see how good they are trying to avoid that just how how good this office. Are often would be a core relations there the bigger the names of guests the batter the assortment of dealers and of collections. Up for sale will be -- optimistic about this show this weekend I'm headed there today. Because of the again sixteen accounted ex bills will be there all between like 11 this morning and mid afternoon. So well maybe LC there for its -- pretty good picture on soccer I don't signature runs they met -- right. Sam is on WGR hi -- I don't show. -- You are. I'm not a collector of Brad -- next -- Chrysler -- like -- -- when I was growing up. About ten year old in the sixties. We typical art great art collections and that. You go play knocked on card games slip went up our game and it. Took everything -- what are your. It and fortunately level my -- didn't -- don't have any value at all morsel. A lot vehicle cart split over the years I don't know what you have. They -- or who do want shuttle cart now was that 1981. All. That. Yeah. -- -- -- at Joseph Montana also rookie. It and I didn't know that you don't want to be -- -- that he was so. -- plucked out there may be the only art in the box support anything. But I just can't if you have any idea what do thanking anyone complete -- Not bloggers. From. There are limited knowledge of I would say it's my. Excellent condition. I absolutely do I actually do it's not the only cart this that were anything but it's clearly the key card in that set there're a couple of other. Hall of famers whose rookie cards are in that set Kellen Winslow. Art monk and Hampton. That might be it so there are few. But Montana is the key and how much your set is worth is mostly about how nice the -- and that is. Now I assume that you're right when you say that it isn't. Wasn't played with. But that doesn't mean it's gonna be well Saturday or that there isn't going to be some kind of an issue with the card anyway. And that's that's something that's something that somebody who might be buying your set will look at first thing just how nice is the Montana. And the value your set will. Fluctuate based on that mean if if it's perfectly centered in the cart is men say PSA nine or even 1010s. Very tough with Montana. But if it's up there then deck cards worth. At least a few hundred dollars -- and nine saved by itself. And if if it's offset her or if it's just you know got a bad corner something and it's more in the 67 range. Then you might be able to get a hundred dollars for the set you might now. That and tortuous and I take it to get a fair brutal. You could take it to bases loaded you could take it to -- Adams who might wanna call them first make sure they have an interest you know just set the explaining it to -- explained it to me. You could if you wanna send me an email I could give you more specific instructions or advice I should say. Or you could just go from there are those those two places. -- are are are pretty solid four for stuff that's now thirty years old. Okay. And an -- that I look for Oakland man paid. Right tackle and Pittsburgh slow at the thirteen from. You know sixty whatever one World Series ring. I can -- also are playing the polls -- Satan. Well I I imagine and listening to a show about. Collecting with when you hear a lot about these values like listening to your your ex girlfriend and you know. I'm on one if if this. Alleviates the pain at all I'm not sure well but one thing I think about me here this is very common. Is that if it weren't true. That dead boys who play with cards in the fifties and sixties and about disposing of them or their -- -- whenever. Then there would be no hobby really it's that the affected those cards are scarce. Is one is what Mexico. Are. All right thank you we see we all -- people like Sam a debt of gratitude. For. Abusing Mickey Mantle and Roberto -- cards and then eventually trashing them we all -- them some thanks there like our. Our veterans. Thanks Adam Wheeler Sam I almost. Came along with some snot nose kid in the eighties and I'm like -- this -- great. All this stuff is valuable because it was all thrown out. And that's good because it makes all this interest thing and I can have this this hobby. Let's take a sports break right now magic -- got the update back to some calls and some final thoughts here today after that I'm Mike show and this is the hobby. On WGR. I bet the parents of older kids are like this guy's a rook this guy's a rookie need. He didn't know he needed to be Kelly's country store in Grand Island on a Friday at about an hour early. To see Santa with his through this two year olds on girls who's gonna get stock. Ms. of that enemy yesterday in -- blaming anybody for that it's just there was a super long line of very small room. And my guided the best decoding lasted about an hour and a half. Before he just said very. Plaintively very sadly to me daddy I want to go home. So he waited -- a bunch of times you waved to him hi -- But never got close the Frontline it would have been another hour and a half easy and just. Two year old that stuff schedules are tight. All right human it's left on the hobby for this week really quickly mentioned. That I had a chance on Thursday. I was out at that actually was at the doctor's office and my way home from the doctors. I stopped at David Adams and they have four stores now you might hear the ads. I went to the -- shared revenues to going to the one on Sheridan. Closer to Niagara Falls boulevard but they have moved out of there. With the jerseys painted on the windows. They have moved out of there with a parking lot that was just horrible. They've moved down next Andersons and it is beautiful. It's it's almost like a museum in this one area where they've got a lot more their autograph stuff up for sale it's put together nicely. And really nice you walked on a few steps into this area receive -- that stuff. Interesting I didn't get to it before but I was thinking about it to bring up today. Joseph Montana jerseys. And nice the red forty -- jerseys classic uniform. Three to 350 in a frame. At -- and -- -- there Gretzky is more than double that and it's interesting that Gretzky which still command. So much more than Montana. Which I don't fully understand there's always supply and demand. Sure but the Montana -- I was very close I've got enough jerseys actually sold one from something I mentioned on the on the -- week or two ago that I was sort of ready to do that for couple my jerseys and I did. And install open that by the way but I was almost I was very close to buy in Montana I love the idea the Montana great player. What's what's not to like maybe he signs a lot. I don't think he's necessarily notorious assigning constantly. So 300 bucks for a -- Montana 3315. -- Montana Jersey nicely done other framing jobs or are excellent. And to me that was a good deal it is to put money down. Let's get Margaret in on WGR Margaret. Eight the question. He is big Green Bay Packers sold -- this week because -- kept me thinking years ago. My mother still alive she's 83 she still loves sports to no end. -- healing younger and she was married at the time in the late forties early fifties she actually had bought a couple of stack in at least that was the -- and that the time which is now the bills they -- played it to rot piled. Okay -- don't like all American football conference were talking late forties. Yet correct. At this time I believe they were trying to get together but similar to what Green Bay is now publicly owned stack. And what they did though. They didn't sell enough stack of my mouth was able to get her money back which of course during that time when you're not married here early twenties who does he need all the money gets -- she turned her stock certificate back -- got out of money back. Trying to look for something for her for Christmas. Wondered if you would know -- anywhere can get a copy of one of these old eyes and. People put -- dot certificate. Wow what a great idea. No I don't. Know that they've ever seen one but it's probably mostly because I've never looked for one okay I would think at. At the occasional card show in tone there might be something like that but I wouldn't I wouldn't assume that it's possible. You just want a copy though you don't need to spend very much money's wanna be able you know for the for the sentimentality of it right into -- equity firm for collectible exactly. Exactly because I had even called. The field house. And the ladies go into -- for the built organizations have no idea that even ever exist it. And we felt they were no help indirectly and you act and. It's it out to different franchise that it. They should or shouldn't no but this right in the bills have been have left and returned since since that. It directly. It was like more than ten years before Ralph Wilson bought. I'll tell you what Margaret the best I can do predict there really don't know where you could find that. Would be if a guy I know people who listen -- show that might have they might be screaming in their cars like just tellem. The teller this I don't know if if you emailed me then if I do happen to hear it and I would certainly get in touch with the UN and do that but I. Like I'm not in business and I just don't know where you could find. Certificate like I think it's a great idea -- may be could even. Find you know like oh in the original. The -- Either way and can probably create. Wishing you had to return her certificate to somebody. Correct to whatever you can get everybody back OK I wonder capitals. I don't know maybe they were just thrown out. About it but I know people who are big buffalo sports collectors and I bet that some of these things are floating around now that's my guess. Okay well I appreciate your help -- you're welcome if you wanna send me an email show -- WGR 550 dot com I will keep it. And if I ever hear about these certificates I will -- you. Okay right thank you very much thank you. SCH OP PM happy to have to do then sir I didn't have a better answer here is Chris on WGR actress. Morning right or good what's up. Good it's a pleasure listen to you know Bulldog every day after work on my way home and and not a -- really enjoyable I don't want to build games. That's when they lose you guys are awful isn't it when you start dissect in the game that people caller what their crazy ideas but anyway. I'm glad to hear that does that show has been short in my life for about nine years. Hopeful that this. It's a great topic this morning been collecting autographs in person only. For the last forty years. I'm actually am a way in from -- Ontario dances at the TV show that you spoke about it I'm going your fragility and -- smartly need to get them Maya. Finals king called it. -- -- it. You'd you'd talked about I would people. Sticking sticking to something that they low when it comes to collectibles. And it's one it's such a little bit further. People wanna remember actor into in personnel got -- sport that's. Relevant to the region. I'm a little old die hard but living in. So let's run through it very difficult for me to meet. Football players mostly because it's an American sport and both current. And retired players totally Chela Canada all that often looked a little more difficult for for me it's a collector. To get autographs from. From these players however being -- western Ontario and a hockey fan also it's incredibly easy for me to have access to. To hockey players that it's a hockey crazed country course so the sole project of mine like it's sixteen by twenty the hockey All -- and the spending three years to have gotten over it you ought to got -- Only because of where I live now by having to live in -- slope. There might be a little more difficult for me to every Eagles -- same moniker that. Just compared to -- to music over the greater Toronto area -- however. -- -- having access to a vehicle. For me to collect autographs minutes from the NFL. Then it's over -- little more relevant treated traveled to you to get the get ya you're out. Well it's it's -- a great project Chris I've got to go. But I appreciate you sharing that with us and if I'm if you are inclined to collect -- you get to meet the guys like like the caller and self that's got to be. Rewarding and fun I've I've Ben I've not been quite that. The type to wanna. Approach guys and get out autographs a kind of like to just do it through the market. And a little bit of that is just being uptight about whether whether or not I get a certain privileged because in my job and I just don't want any. Issue with that sort of never exactly been an autograph collector. Like that I will buy them for you know with the price is right and it's someone that I care about but. What what he says is totally true and you know. If you wanna separate buffalo and Toronto like that you can but you may choose not to just think of all of this is one big area where you have. Of course with hockey great access to the legends of the game. And current stars in both trial in buffalo and there's plenty of football guys bounce around -- was so -- lots of potential for that excellent. Thank you Chris Margaret all the calls today -- appreciate it a beer tomorrow with Bulldog for the late game bills chargers. Thanks for listening I'm Mike -- on the hobby here on WGR.
