Ross -- on the bill CO with us here now -- here on delete your Sports Radio 550 and and you know the tone of today obviously has. Then how aggressive this team will be and what the expectations the fans should happen. And if you could just speak to that a little bit. And you know kind of speak on what but he nexus that I'm sure you heard a little bit about what he -- so just to comment on that. You know I think you know from what but he talked about earlier week's news organization. From really the end of the season is that we do plan -- in interest free agency and you know two callers last point. You know I think there's some misinformation. And and how that's perceived when when you look at it from the standpoint of building from inside. You know look at. Some of the things that we have done in the past year which is extending court a few of our guys. You know obviously culminated with Steve you last week and Scott Chandler and Ryan -- And obviously Kyle Williams during the course of the year fits during the course of the year so -- philosophy is to draft develop and retain. And add key pieces to the organization that. That we feel -- Make a make a big impact. And you know we plan -- being aggressive. Resources will not be an issue. You know whatsoever. And we will we will be -- trying to do our best to bring some gonna bring players -- buffalo that are the right fit and is as you said earlier attempt that's what. What body says something he means it. And as the organization we feel the exact same way but you know it takes two to tango -- -- -- -- certainly does and we'll see total comes up. Without laying out the plan with the flow chart -- Our dad -- documents or three ring binders or anything. You're behind the curtain you know what's going on behind the curtain right. Can you may be put into. Into any kind of quantitative firm terms. How excited are different you feel about 4 o'clock is opposed to the deadline or the the open just. Are free agency in previous years well here here's where feel different you know when we've looked at free agency in the past few years so when putting Chang came on board. Was the you're you're not gonna chase. Good money after after bad news and what I mean by that news is that we had a lot of distinguishable needs over the last few years. And stay -- -- core philosophy of drafting and developing we've had some some good hits. Over -- four years -- we've built this team up. Now we're at a point where we feel we have some specific needs in you feel. There's more excitement that you're closer. And you know that's a credit to buddy the personnel staff. Coach -- and what they've been able to achieve on the field. But that's where I think Tim is the biggest difference going into you feel OK if we can add a couple core pieces and a couple new pieces I should say to this team. There were gonna we're ready to make significant run. And you -- our goal is new for me say this before. Is to have sustained success. OK and one of the things when we. When we when we look at we talked cash to cap okay that's not a budget tool it's a roster discipline to. To allow you to go on that runs so we're not dump in money at this time here. Cutting players doing all the things that you see across leak. We're trying to build. This for the long -- Now the big names are always what takes understand church at this time a year the Vincent Jackson the Mario Williams that Marcus Colston whomever picture. Eric Winston whatever. But depth is also a concern. And was an issue last year what is the philosophy on acquiring depth in free agency is that a draft thing. Where is the general importance placed on to I think it's a cup. The nation you know its combination of of your draft and you look at our draft over the last couple years surprises and quality depth players. But also on some down the line free agents obviously -- into that as well you know we've had. It very good success. In that arena. Over the past few years and look at grew up a prime example a guy who flew completely under the radar. 34 years going -- and there was Spencer Johnson. He is a good solid football. And you know we've brought him in from Minnesota. Those kind of guys. Are key to your team especially. When your deal and where is you know some of the injury bugs and everyone goes through. Last year obviously we went through it and and it really stress injured -- Within the roster we have to improve that and. And that's something that were focused now there's a lot of resigning that that the team has made over the course of the past week in and even beyond -- before that. How much do does. The salaries or maybe the signing bonuses of of those teams I mean how does that affect going into a free agents like me because you said -- Type of deal because -- that resources are going to be a problem. So how does how does of the signing bonuses and things like that -- they hinder you at all from what you might potentially that. Really turnout at all because if you look at last year you know we really went above our our cash when it comes to the budgeting on are you go about that because. We're investing in our future you know Kyle Williams is an investment or future Ryan Fitzpatrick an investment in the future Ryan Lindell. So when you look at that in in it makes sense. You know obviously there's a -- a couple different -- look at the the DiCaprio from what you guys read what the pantry with justice salary cap. To you know how it's managed. Holistic way across all 32 team so. You know that's what our focuses but he is our focuses. Can we add to this team to that someone to. Players can make a significant impact and we're certainly ready to do that and and excited about it. Have a question that leads into not only football in free agency today but also your marketing background. And this is something that has been out there not only for the sabres but the bills in the you know it's kind of been. You know that little bit and it got some headlines everything from Tom Brady taking a shot the buffaloes hotels tend to back. The national association of sports commissions not wanting to come here which -- know you're involved Internet sales pitch a little bit but. And that leads and my question which I got from when my Twitter followers buffalo Jill. And she wants to know how do you market buffalo to prospective. Free agents once they come here what's the process like and and what's the spin or what's the which the sales pitch. Why they -- the positives about buffalo and there are. Many many positives. Is a lot of the guys have played here. Have played against us they noticed like in the arena that Ralph Wilson Stadium they notice like when their pulled up on the books. The one thing that I tell everybody about buffalo it's authentic. And we don't have to manufacture any excitement. -- in this community when it comes to Buffalo Bills football it's collegial. In a lot of the guys. In talking to them that play here that have played here is an experience like no other. When you come to play in buffalo because of how. Rabbit our fan bases in the excitement and -- ramps up during the week and in coming off of power -- goes and it ramps up again during the week and I think those are the things that really make buffalo a special place. The proximity to Toronto. The proximity to New York City. The -- that this is and I say this all the town Buffalo's all the time Buffalo's power -- the best restaurant city in the country. Powder or ration your -- Partners. Up a lot of nightlife here and experiences here that don't get enough credit. Talked to a -- wide at Thurman Thomas come back and that the buffalo Jim Kelly -- -- Steve -- lives here. If there's 8090 alumni that live in the area why why did they record because this is a phenomenal place to live is phenomenal place to play football in. How much weight do you think gave Stanford Routt are afraid Taylor or Nick Barnett sort Terrell Owens. How much today actually week that sales pitch how important is it. As opposed to the things that buddy. Laid out as being the important thing -- and those play with an end and up obviously number one the money yet they're comes out of money comes on the comfort and it comes down to the staff and the right fit. But -- all those things are close. Water to distinguish -- items that are going to take it over the top for you to play it. And I I think that -- all it all plays a big role in -- -- I agree with what your honor percent of what the core initiatives are for making the decision. But at the end of the day you know there are other things when it comes to -- you in my -- -- has three or four kids and this is a phenomenal place to go to school. The public school system here in the prep school system -- good news anywhere in the country. I mean there are so many different things that affect a guy individually. Can you speak to those. From an organizational standpoint. And I tell people all the time. You know I love to stand on the podium and talk about buffalo because. Of all the different elements and in variables at this community brings. To playing in the National Football League in my opinion it doesn't get any better you wanna play. In a place with tremendous passion. And I've worked another place that. It it it doesn't come close to the passion that this market says. For bills football that's about 31 bit so guys like the big cities and guys like you know some there's some people just won't listen to that but we have all that. You know we have all that close by if if if you're looking and for that bet big city environment. In and we have all that and and I think that's you -- again another if you're not some outpost. Where you can't get to that someone easily if that's real look for every once in awhile. Elect a set I think our entertainment district here it is. Is outstanding as well I think our guys that are here would tell you that -- and an ideal setting. What makes this a successful free agency period for. -- into our club you know line and and and -- body and -- feel that we can take it to you know to another level. -- is our -- are -- that we bring in. You know Leggett said you know the excitement our our -- being a part of this an -- and -- From the standpoint of add to our team -- that's what we're in this for. You know we're in this to win championships were in this to build for the long term. And give our fan base what they've deserved. Four for many years and that's to give back were real Monaco and in the first step is to get back to the playoffs. And I feel. Wholeheartedly that this organization's -- was pointed up and were -- in the right direction. Russ thanks most of the time as cuts.
