Good group were buzzing like chain -- John really I can't I caffeinated nine -- -- how we're doing. -- -- bigger stake -- over at the stadium then maybe the one down in Nashville with Peyton Manning I think it's pretty. Pretty competitive -- stake out a -- on. Maybe we think Williams is there you've said that right. And what you think the odds are here for the bills to sign him pretty good. I don't Obama would -- the better that I guess sixteen million to one pick them what you have engaged. Is can he get more money -- the bills are operating in the second -- these satisfactory good I think the bills made it pretty clear that don't make him the highest paid player in defense in football. And about the case. If money is what he's looking forward is sold off on the team. That I think it's a good fit so. They definitely have a chance to look at this like they had the first visit I think that's important that says something and he's still there I think that says something good and -- last night the buzz was. They totally gonna go visit other teams and a back to the facility today and you know basically trying to lock in there. And get of this say yes and so far against the Evans said no but can any sign on the dotted line. Yet John is my experience that you -- we have -- much more than I do covering these sorts of things specifically. This is a long visit right. This that this is the net that's good news for the bills and I think altitude when you talk about. Okay it's a one day that's an eternity in free agency and a lot of things changed and they look at for example to Chicago Bears -- team that everybody thought. They're gonna pay the most money they've already gone -- most of their business they traded for Brandon Marshall they've signed two quarterbacks Jason Campbell and they re sign Josh McCown they've got some special teams players they're pretty well tapped out submitted have a couple more -- Seattle. That was the team but I think that those those become big in the -- they get Red Bryant done they're starting to work on quarterbacks like other Chad Henne and. Maybe even Matt Flynn so they may be out of it so if you waited day you'll lose team and if you lose teams the team that's gonna pay the most as the best chance of getting. One other options do you think are out there right now for Mario Williams. Well -- so I know there's interest in Miami there's interest in Tennessee in the -- buying time he'll find out whether Peyton Manning goes to Tennessee or not. I heard there was going to be interest by the Dallas Cowboys but the problem pace in the cowboys is that they get strapped with a ten million dollar. Up to handle that penalty but -- to carry over from. Deals that they did two years ago the -- often deal and so they may not have the ability to do it but there's a lot a lot of teams that are involved but. Don't Mario at least is going for the dollars a mis -- the Green so we came to buffalo. John played with -- us to Joseph what do you figure the agent for Williams is out there somewhere to trying to figure out calculate. What done what else is available for him and if the gap is such that. It. It just doesn't impress Williams to go somewhere else and talked to other people when he signed Cherie I think it just comes out of that. I think so yeah I mean you can see that the the bills were pretty. I'm meticulous and how they plan things and they had that plane landing in. The pick up Robert Meachem that the kind of free agency started they had already arranged to get Mario Williams over. And visit the facilities so. And when they're talking to meet him last night spirit that or when they first got together cyclists and we're gonna make a big round Mario Williams that we think we can get that the people Robert depending imports depart for the bills. -- they got outbid because of the panic by the San Diego Chargers the charges was spent in Jackson. Eight of the nine top running back pretty much off the market and solo with meet meet him decided to go and signed with San Diego's so it's it's. One where you can. Have them for one minute next minute he could end up by going out the backdoor and signing someplace else. So as long as I guess they have the cell phone turned off no incoming calls for Mario. Don't they could at least know that they have a fair chance to try to do what they still. Might decide to lead to -- because believe you figure it's not coming back. -- what ESPN's John played here on WGR John what a player. Is this I mean I can read his stats. You know I've watched him play a handful of times how good. A player received worth being in the highest paid defense players. -- is a little bit have been a big -- with amber there's also a little bit of an enigma with Julius Peppers too because one of the things that didn't they say about Mario and there is physical skills are phenomenal very much like Julius Peppers -- that perfect type of angular defensive end. Who can get off the corner and get to the quarterback and -- put an end. You know normally you gonna make a transition from defense -- a linebacker and a 34. You're probably gonna take a step back well he's still a pretty good. It is a little bit funky as far as bill in the 34. And at that. Past props and things like that but he was thinking about but he still had five back in five games. Injuries have been a problem and where the indictment comes and is a little bit of is that personality I'm very much like Julius Peppers still as great of a player and a great of an athlete he's not was considered to be a great leader. And he's a good person but he doesn't have that type of leadership ability that sometimes you'd like from an offensive that I mean not like for example Bruce Smith as far as the way that he could lead. But as a talent I mean he's there and he's the guy that is going to get -- now are we gonna get a hundred or more sacks during his NFL career. And whatever resigning as for whether it's going to be five years or six years you know it could get more than fifty or sixty sacks. John -- with -- us. John you talked before about how well organized the bills have been in this effort starting with Meachem and then and then Williams. Does that surprise you at what kind of reaction have you had to the bills being say the leaders for him. Well it doesn't surprise me but what also does is it. It it pleases me to show that say they're willing to spend. Now sometimes. You know if they can be a big disappointment if they don't get a mental cure is a big disappointment they get Robert Meachem. But. Don't believe -- say they're gonna go -- and sometimes I think you know the bills have been in you know historically kind of conservative. They're being aggressive and they're I think being good and I think that's a good sign I think you concede that they wanna try to do the right things and I think that I like the move just -- -- -- back to the fourth three deep sense that I thought they struggled a lot. With a 34 in just didn't work out so I like that I think the fact that they want that's involved is very good. And you know the Chan Gailey is that being very good as far as trying to sell it. So I think it's that good fun and it's okay we -- the bills were trying to get some things done. If they worded get this done John I I I got the impression party -- -- GM really sad as much yesterday before the opening a free agency. When they feel they've said this for awhile when they feel they've got the team that's this sort of player away in free agency they'll get aggressive in free agency. Which you agree that if they get this guy there are set to be. -- a 1011 a playoff type team with him -- with Williams and Daria subplot. I don't know I think I don't know about the Vatican because again there's still a division with a New England Patriots. Still have the advantage so I don't know if they can get that but I think it. He's clearly worth at least maybe two wins -- three wins or something like data released the idea that the pass -- is there any -- -- -- -- the the bills needed to pass -- and -- probably still do but it doesn't prohibit them from may be getting another pass rusher. In the draft and so I you can see it's gonna help the -- out and help the secondary out it'll help the defense out and takes some pressure off the offense and so I do think that the it made -- -- -- -- that ten or eleven win but I think he could put in the nine and maybe but. -- to get them. John you said earlier that if you figure if Williams leaves today or tonight without a deal that that's probably that. Would it would it be common for the team in this situation may be a little different because Williams you could say is part above the best candidate. In in free agency at his position at least would be common for the bills in the negotiations to say. You know what if you get on that plane were out with the bills try to take the lead in that in and put the pressure on him that way. I don't think so and I think that you gotta be nice about it because in the if you make. Threat then it's gonna come back and haunt you and a lot no I think you keep that out there if they if he does believe and hope that maybe he can come back. Do you realize the next scene is going to go to he's gonna go to the same process you lock the doors and try to keep them there. I mean he's the best player in free agency as far as on defense and so. When you have the best player and it's a big big gap after that you know you gotta get something done so. Yeah I mean though I don't think people the operate threaten to pull the offer don't look at -- Look at the drop off from and you go from you're a young guy who's still in his prime Mario Williams -- John Abraham. -- or Mark Anderson guys that are toward the end of their career Andre Carter so you've got to try to get something done that you don't make any threats because that's come back -- Okay. Any opinion on the wide receiver market at this point with Meachem out of the out of the mix as we know Manningham with the giants what do you like there. I think has really dropped off and I think it's problematic and it's all you have now. Is Mario Manningham a third receiver for the giants now brand -- the more talented one he's planned a rally San Francisco right now and then it starts to drop off I think that you know it twos and threes and so. The big the big receiving market has done a lot Robinson and it. Really amazing more than just maybe at three so I think that the receiver marketed and take pretty clean and so. If they're wind it's been maybe two million a year find that they're gonna spend more than that I think there waste in the dollars. All right are you.
