That level we we talked about thing where we need to be so that's embarrassing and this is playoffs embarrassingly it's. Don't Oreo because Syria we have south someone's sister. -- -- season and you know the only. Solace I can take promises I don't think we quit I really don't I think we. We got ourselves in the position. We were successful and that that hurt but. And and don't mistake me for being happy about it but there's. You know we didn't quit we showed some pride. And there's something you can base. A season next here on that pride and you can learn some lessons. It's my. You know. Seventh time doing this and really my -- here prone descended so. It's again it sucks to be talking about it now. It is. Not happy with. The overall result. So I -- so often it was you know you were pure play was contingent. Directly connected to. The success of the team when you were going well they were going well when you were going really well there. Is it always going to be that way. Or you is that how it's supposed to work for you. I don't know -- -- I think that that's an easier way to start things up -- it's more complicated and and the -- there reflects the -- he reflects the goalie it's too intertwined. I think we are doing things. We're good to start the season we had a good jump but that's when teams again and -- organize them you know facing that same. And to the end when they're now there's the Stanley Cup contenders. And there's. People on the outside looking out back in on them and I think. My -- wasn't good for a long stretch there and we talked about it we've. We've. Dealt with that I thought it might play improved. But it also was right around the same time I think. Our team player -- So I just think that lands into goaltender place teams he reflects goaltender. It's. You guys there. You know ready for the fans who like to talk about him is that chicken before the day here whatever. It's always about. Goaltending has such a high level on the goaltender steals a game and goaltender. Is that different. I understand the whole -- I am Bolton see the importance I was to see the importance of being a complete team. And there isn't stretched -- we weren't in that part. We didn't and have it. We straightaway from important things that every image help team has stated its successful. And so when you look at it. We weren't that far off within the system but there -- the current does the critical things that make a difference. And night in night out it's you know. You know keep pace at that. Above 500. Or just below 70% winning percentage. Throughout my house. There it is we talked about. Houston we didn't you didn't step up as a team brokered time -- performer there Myers said prepared than we thought the mindset. Wasn't right. You know anything -- -- I would you carry with the benefit of hindsight you can that can put your finger -- that. Main part of the season what went wrong. I can't tell us to me things to factor in I think that we just got into a space where. Now. We lost confidence. We weren't playing the kind of game that was consistent. Enough for him -- our awareness with things you need to be doing in nightly basis wasn't there so. -- out their confidence and you're you're not gonna make a difference. In the game it's going to be on the losing side. You have to play attending and listening keep you in every game every night and then it's gonna be the you know. Like you're talking about that I can be about the goaltender and can be about the star forwards and can be -- Maybe you guys surprising everyone's allow me to leave of the court stepping up in a few goals. Yes had a foundation now and for awhile there we -- it's. Period that's very. Foundational elements of the game that's team's master and look like they'd -- after effortlessly. We took. Too long. You master it so by the end -- really get at it. You have it down you can worry about the creative stuff and for too long we're thinking about what we had young guys. Think it plays and then. Your lowest low yield is behind -- and the difference in the Antonio is being severe thinking about the game. If you have to have a down SE second nature yet to be prepared. We started off OK but I mean those are games against when you really think about it. We can't have any real challenges certainly LA wasn't scoring a lot of goals and ducks are well. That's a good thing. You can carry that forward in their first. Few weeks at home. Now. -- in the court has been together. What everyone to define the core of the team coming. Since since 2007. And the other five years to put the question given. The lack of overall success that its established. Are you confident in what's left of the score right now. Think they're good players I think that's. There has to be a decision about. You know what kind of game we're gonna play. And now that we had our shortcomings. I think that's. You know there's enough talent. And these Becker guys. The Vienna winning hockey club and and the club that can develop into a contending club. But you know quitting the job done and you know that takes. -- -- soul searching here because it you have to be at a higher level. And. I don't wanna -- seasons. When you need to be based on your conversations with them you have every indication that you'll be back here. And you have you have every reason I mean you wanna be back here all that is all. I've never -- it is -- -- since we were talking about it or five months ago. I thought I'd try to do my pars and I know it's. I'm not trying to slip out of this season here I'm just saying that I thought I got myself into a better place. About it played better hockey. And it. You know for me that I was I was. You know I was happy that I can do that and I'm frustrated that it you know they came too little too late now we're sitting here talking. We're not in the playoffs. So. It adds that. But it's still the same message it's that it's still. I made a commitment to be here it's up to them how they use me as an asset and I don't every indication is that I need to go to improve things. In my game and my approach. And you and -- and I. Talked about in these exit meetings and and communications have in the next few months and and prepare for another hockey season. That being said it's it's up to. It's up to Darcy to make the moves and you know you have to talk to him into it had to talk to when you about ways thinks it is cast because. I mean commandments play here I fully expect to be back I think -- We meet trying to dig back the hole -- put myself and shows you know I have the pride and had a commandments to be here I don't think I've folded up my tent and started pouting. Now. When everything is. Going on being questioned and trade rumors and people suggesting that's maybe I am a prima Donna and I should be out of here. I thought I hunkered down and try to play my best hockey and eventually it was really close to my best and thing is my best but it is really close. And it is getting better I think -- you know I made some improvements overalls goaltender but. It just sucks is too little too late night and the first -- season. You know. Now I'm sick to my summit today. It was part of something that put us in. Position to missed -- us. That was happening with you know the trade rumors and all that did that affect you more than maybe you would like to two or get a -- play at all did you think. -- I'd try to remain professional and work my way through it but it's. Now that was in the stretch and I wasn't playing at a hockey. You know just was trying to figure out which radio with that. Trying to settle into -- comfort zone there wasn't there and there's -- contributing factors and it's just I'm still not gonna try and use as an excuse for even bringing up right now that's. Now as I felt better and and felt more comfortable and what I need to be doing in the basin. Now I I felt things had turned and and as a team we are paying attention the right kind of things and and we showed we could beat any team any night. Usually typically. The opening scene plays there gap between -- -- coaching -- Would mean. -- -- think just her second -- The thing captain ladies you know we have to -- and game play and we're we're it was a -- that not getting through to certain players know and certainly one play here but. And I just mean accountability personal accountability and make what kind of game early in place. Individually. Your effort makes a team game. You know night in night out it's got to be consistent. Can be. Many different things. So I think -- -- I don't know. And that's on everybody every single person in this organization senators it. And you can then we'll commit the comment you wanna waste seasons. That does that suggest or shouldn't you just or are you suggesting some leveling out there and this printers which direction. -- times is being wasted this season this is the oyster season we had a chance to be in the playoffs and our crack at it. Last year we found a way to get -- -- me you know vowing out of the flyers as frustrating. But we had a chance this year around chancellor's. What's your opinion I know that you know players like today and management's call what is your opinion on what needs to be done to get this right. -- -- on there because that's not something I have to few yeah. I'm not willing to share opinions because with weaknesses with the dad. Opinions like anybody does. That mean they -- well -- I really don't even have an opinion I'm here to play that's it. You're around long enough you. Know. Each Ryan get back I think most in my opinion -- -- and suggestions or how we go about doing things with a cast of people we have here. You really if you trying to -- -- -- to really say you know what this is my team these are the guys I have to -- Like you have to -- care about these guys you have to believe in them and you can't wish anybody out here when I'm talking mostly I try and give back to the best they can it you know -- What can we do culturally what can we do to improve things how we do better in preparation. These are things that players can maybe give back a little bit but honestly it comes down to management coaches make decisions we -- Pay to play hockey. They're not ask in my opinion about when these come though and it's I don't. It's been. Ten years of the organization only -- it start how. It agree yeah we wouldn't do for you to stay here it signed a deal that you have now. You're looking -- I mean you wanted some kind of read church reassurances that this was going in the right direction are you confident that this is going in the right direction. Well. We'll see. I can't answer owner now because. I'm frustrated disappointed but we're obviously not going right direction because they were not in the playoffs. But. Hussein few months that we -- have the right combination of guys in the attitude and there are things. As a group we need him just. I think I say we just need all by ending to about caring about each other and enjoying come littering. And having some fun playing hockey. It just became -- to a point where it was just. Now on the play for a long stretch there. And I know what winning is fun. So remember that winning is fun what helps is when it's that attitude effort. All things. To hold on not so much negative feeling good. One of the building blocks of successful. Games was the building blocks of winning and you all of those things as tight as you can and Andy trying to forget about them. And it could be a long time before we do this again who knows what's gonna happen with collective bargaining agreement. This is their frustration with you about that that we can that you don't know none of us know where that's headed and when we're gonna play again this week. Yeah I'd like to think that compared the other pro sports we are made -- concessions you know we were we locked out. We were locked out by the ownership. And we made our concessions we've rolled back we took. Big chunks off. The things that we held on to arbitration and -- free agency are tired. Those are chips that. We held strong to and it's is penalized he sellers -- they are now but it's also where we take pride in that because that's something we held onto -- we believe and and it's up -- management ownership make decisions and it benefited so I can Agassi maybe you either complain a little bit but. And it -- making a record amount of money. They are very successful and -- Internet areas televisions improved. Give up your credit for that that's improving. But we saw some organizational issues I think the last thing we need to do is is have some kind of work stoppage. Because he made great strides with that positive it's been Iraqis had him him -- Olympics is big for everybody. I think the years coming out lockout we got a lot of -- -- back lot of positive energy mix that was the Olympics here in North America. A couple good playoffs. And and we have a fan bases. Loyalty and and and honestly I think that's sports fans and and any sport. And you know we can't alienate them we can't we can't have a disagreement on at this point in time this is up to the PA and managed help it and it's helping it created just Gatorade. -- -- at the right way. We know there are some issues in the business side -- it was like clear. But they after -- that the you know. We played two games that's different football we wanna hang on too few things revenues. She and coast. I'm sure we'll take -- I mean why not everybody else that did football basketball I mean. Continued. Its business that -- can't fault anybody for trying so I'm sure that'll be a big thing. I'm sure and hang a few things over and let's. Not sure what the the biggest situation will be forests. You know low area of it but you know by holding on to arbitration rights by lowering the the free agency agent. That really kept it so salaries remains on pace with the revenue and you can still see a split. You know it's still not growing as much as revenues so I don't think the guys are really has. Too much to stand on same that are trying pour the size Phoenix and I mean that's their whole issue. Right we'll social. I -- I know it comes on the money but. How how much in the Olympics especially on the player side how much you guys enjoy doing it now so keep that from him. All of could factor and I hope they do it and helps that both sides understand the game's bigger than just the NHL. If you're kind of celebrated on that world stage. It's bad enough for not doing his thing in the World Cup. Now world championships is a -- back to. On me now like early -- And as tired that's hard for a lot of is there. Go through long seasons and then take a big break in that -- player or come league's second third round of playoffs and and be available for that so. You know it it we have tough timing when it comes to finding big tournaments and I think it respected. The Olympics is. You know our chance to celebrate in -- world stage. And it's a lot of fun. Is -- still don't really know how to explain it is just -- The moment of clarity on us that it kind of did just snap in the places like okay this is how we do it. And -- it wasn't like I forgot it was just kind of not. Available to me and as a came back and -- feeling better. He'll have more confidence. Obviously in this kind of hope it can keep going and -- overall and -- I thought we settled down his team over to him and that housing. How's married. Hard to say. Maybe next year we came.
