Two sabres yesterday referring to Gary's. Cody Hodgson there I'm Gary Roberts. Whose offseason program is becoming very well respected and well known within hockey. And Ryan Miller referring to Gary Bettman calling him Gary. Yesterday during you know focused commentary about. The labor situation in the league which again. Is. Going to be a story you'll read about here. I did ask Ryan Miller is the sabres player -- is now in Nashville -- lost that. Tyler Myers kinda. Filled in but he doesn't wanna do what I asked in recent years ago we'll have to vote on that before we leave town because -- they -- -- care of their team dinner tonight or whatever. And I asked Miller he's the logical choice to me as especially since he's well opinionated on would you like to be the rap because that shall we not know. Went up he he what he said was because a lot of that is just bring information to the players he said. Depending on how the negotiations go I might consider being on the negotiating committee. What is being the player rep beneath them. I guess he just a month that the time -- if he's he said you know he's already been comic. Rolls its rules committee weaknesses and that he so yes I think so he's already done that. He just yeah he just in wannabe I guess the guy who provides information for the team but. I guess it does intrigue him maybe to be on the negotiating committee should. -- don't know how the new bush he's about to go to make him do better he would do that from the start Presley's subsidies to supply to. All Hamilton in studio with me -- Mike show the bull dog is not here today and he's got the week off more on -- more. And Ozzie Guillen coming up next -- -- sales Nelson I didn't call him more on the air but some people may be doing that today and I'm not one of them. So that's coming up and we'll talk about the playoffs a little bit here with Paul this hour to your questions are welcome for all. Mean he's on the beat with the team all year the season's over what you wanna know. 8030550. Is the number here is Greg on WG RI Greg. Hey guys or it. That's what I coming out here very last point before the break I totally agree with you Mike. And I disagree with all respectfully. Even -- is only owned that in -- Mike is absolutely right this secret and -- one with their current personnel that they have now at the bottom line interpret how old new the ownership is. If you have a troop commitment to winning the Stanley Cup even after one year of ownership on my main thing that move forward. But the bottom line is the sabres haven't won with what they have and they're must be changed I believe that the changes should be closest to the -- And that. Basically to me just means. Few player and I read correctly apathy you know that as much as a fan favorite the one that happened I think it is time for up to move out. -- I didn't mean if if you got the impression that I was saying one or the other -- -- gear whether they should stay or should they go there was I actually the point I was trying to make is. If you're going to hold. This ownership accountable we get to hold them accountable for a year. And let him decide what rough and -- and that kind of thing we can't. Hold him accountable for mistakes the -- is made or something else he's been here year and we have to evaluate that year I think. There are two ways. That I would. Really understanding. Sort of get a if a -- did it. Two ways you can go one would be to buy the team and dismissed the coach in the GM on day one. Or soon as the season's over a minute consider that the same thing like. Upon taking over the team -- -- sees that as the first day or. The first day of the off season his first full season then. I'm in charge. You have long enough this is what do. He didn't do that in not only did he not do that he really pumped up and ring gear up. So. What's the other thing the other thing he can do is once he as the owner of the team. As concluded. That they can't win if he does come to that conclusion then. He can change him I don't think that's right now. I don't I don't think now was the time of Angola. To make those moves I don't think it works right now he said a lot about each of them more about -- the ring gear -- to -- Prompted. In in -- case but he got there. So. If you're gonna do that which he did. I think it's too soon and for us were like -- be too so it's fifteen years ago. But I don't think -- really quite works if the owner changes and now then yes. You know even the middle of next season Paul I could see him going. He well we're just not getting anywhere I could see that -- I don't see it now. I've felt all along that the players themselves this isn't a winning. Group. And I I have seen the groups start to change now. Any people wanna take I hate. I don't I would want. For a while now this goes back awhile my problem -- three years old different than most people's. I have basically one prob with our -- -- I would like -- general manager more aggressive. I don't like the sitting and waiting I really don't like that out of a general manager. Com there are some good points that are serving here -- some bad points in my mind he made one bad move in the off season last year. Christian or cough was not a bad move many people -- that that he's the village idiot bringing in Christian -- off first of all the money's right. Second of all Christian -- off once he got going in the team doc on played very very well for the team. And I think hit the record the team had when he was in the lineup speaks for itself a visit to weighty winning percentage but Christian near Hoff was not in the lineup they won three games. When he was not there and I think that shows you what he meant that he could he score some more goals yeah he could. But -- the -- signing is the only one that you could say right now looks to be a -- and and didn't do well. I think remembered hearing was the right thing to do. And I don't I don't know why some people are so shocked but robbery gear only happening what do you six point seven points whenever he's not here to score goals he's not here to bring offense. What what he is here to do is not do what he did in Philly the he made a mistake that he's not that's a rookie sort of mistakes and he went for hit and -- it. I mean he got there a little too early and yeah that's a mistake fiction have been made. There were a lot of times this year where he was going up against the best forwards into a real nice job against guys. Who probably look like they had a beat but they didn't really have them -- at the last second. A stick would come out knocked the puck away or whatever and that particular game he had done a fine job that game. I remember from numerous times where he was out against good players and made good plays against them -- And I what I saw out of him is exactly what I saw on calvary was exactly what I expected. And for that effort this season -- I wake you had a problem with that final play him but for. A -- season's worth of work. It was exactly what I was thought we you'd get his plus minus would have a better the sabres would escort some goals. And it's cost plus minus did improve as they near the end of the season as everybody's did. When when the sabres did start scoring goals but if you're out against the best sports from the other team and your team's not scoring goals -- plus minus is not gonna look real good. Bring on your questions for Paul Hamilton who's here until 68030515. The number poll what do you think happens with Patrick -- About it to me I I Lleyton and I have no problem with the way he place I think he has improved this year. I like him on the team I think he serves a role. As a good fourth line player is an excellent any penalty killer. Will throw his body in front any shot which is part of the problem why he gets hurt all the time. And is willing to work hard to improve his game and to make his team a winner. But when you can only get sixty some odd games this this year was the first year in his career he was able to reach the sixty game mark. And he just barely got over it and got over it at the end by wearing a cast on his hand. He just cannot seem to keep himself healthy. And he is a restricted free agents of the sabres would have to give him a qualifying off certain. Maybe they don't -- I wanna spend over million dollars for that player that I'm not sure can give me. Fifties you know give you any more than fifty games and sometimes lasts. And I think they will have a hard look at that too so there's a possibility. They may not qualifier Ammon quite honestly. As much as I admire him as a hockey player I probably wouldn't I would probably. You know -- trop this is what a player it looks like he's ready to graduate to the NHL player role -- -- fourth wind situation or something like that and com and it would only be because of the injuries is nothing to do with his play -- or his attitude. He brings a good. Attitude to the locker room -- ability yeah it's the durability and that would be my issue. 63 games ten points and some of those games he played in he was pretty pretty her. Pretty banged up now and every year he's a gamer if -- -- -- himself on the -- well. -- you want Colette to be. At full strength to do his thing you know if he has to fight he can fight. He did he does have the occasional you know he scored the occasional goal and it's got a cast on his hand but yeah I mean I I know what you're saying that blocked shot in. That was the game in Washington I think that that that speaks well of them as a competitor and this team has for a wild seemed to many you'll -- lacking. In that way here's Tom on WGR hi Tom. Our authority okay. Well I have a question about the the history of the captaincy. Because I think it has no bearing on the chemistry of the team and also I'm away from the rough -- Now this year you'll recall. That practically at a summit meeting and the empowerment. They had they hit the lacked the whole run down. Oh yeah I I I don't think they needed that one -- they needed that to prop up -- bill. One more Ross the public captaincy is a big thing wanna make a big thing of well I'll open up. How about when the immature. Sabres -- -- few years ago picked a group they ought to adapt they didn't even if he hadn't even played here. Related -- commodity at. Well they voted no they actually voted they voted before or -- yeah -- come out of a hat and they also at a ceremony there to did you almost financial teams at a ceremony for the captain. These don't have cameras that are. Well I if I -- I wouldn't doubt it. What's the point. What point is that. That team was. Immature in their victory very and I think we're very. I'm not sure that Paul can probably tell us I think replace stood up to -- And I think that that's what the players weren't. Now probability never gonna do that these are good data and probably heard captain. But he's -- wrapped up and. I think you have something on prevail there I think it's a thoughtful point. Goes public will have the right make up he had a good season. On the ice you could probably could've picked a better example. To put out there as far as the captain. Com I am not in the room I have mice are just things that -- -- bill says himself. That no -- I'm the guy that's got to stand up we -- got to do it he always you know makes it a teen type of thing. And so he'll say himself no I'm not the guy that's gonna get -- face her or whatever I got to see some my will but. You know he he puts -- on he wants leadership to be all through the team. And he SE said in that long whatever that -- says that summit meeting he said it found that if somebody's got something to say you stand up in front of the team and you say it. The implication might be that -- wouldn't want a captain who would stand up to him yeah I know that's agree I wondered that too Stu Barnes. I don't I have heard through the grapevine he wasn't a real fan Chris jury. Common animal he he got tired after I don't think you dislike mister. I mean -- -- -- to a point where you want them off the team or anything like that but. He wasn't real fan.
