Good morning 703. Here on WGR Sports Radio 550 thanks for waking up with us here on Saturday I'm -- -- It is our WGR golf show -- as you heard Jeff -- PGA pro from transit -- is with us and our. Third man of our roundtable this week is Gary -- from orchard park country club he's a PGA pro there also involved with a company called in their golf we will. Talk a little bit more about that here this morning throughout the course of the show just good morning good morning good morning had a better week to -- good morning thanks for coming in the morning thank you it is. Another beautiful day here in Western New York for those of you may be up early set to. Hat off to a golf course near you hopefully head on straight today and fired by that Masters Tournament there is the fire typically yes it was a very exciting tournament and that's what will lead off with you this morning but. Of course we always would love to helping out with your game if you got a question about your swing. Question about equipment question about anything you saw. This past weekend watching the masters or even if you just have comments or if you happen actually go to Augusta and you -- Story that you wanna share about something you saw or watched. Now while you were there feel free to join us the number to do so locally is 8030558030550. -- 388. 552550. And you can also know we we got a lot of tweets and last week if you wanna do so you can and a sense and tweets to me and we'll get those on the air. At Brian WGR on Twitter and you can Texas 255550. Still lots of ways to participate and if you just waking up this morning in your. In your kitchen in here struggling to maybe reach to get some do it get your coffee -- you just. It's gonna hang out listen to you know you can do that him not too much -- in the factor that's right you do the shakes are absolutely right so. Jeff mean as scary -- here with me rankles deal let's get going here right away we got a lot to get to -- on our show we got ten threes coming up with the head pro from transit valley. And I in about ten minutes or so from now he was that a gust. He's actually in Harbour town this week where the RBC heritage is going on and he'll give us an update on what's going on there Sergio Garcia had some interesting things to say this week. Now we got to updates here a little bit more on what's going on whether show next week on junior golf and got a lot to get too political rights to a what was the fun last weekend watch in the masters. And Bubba Watson ended up. Coming through with quite a dramatic finish Jeff -- a shot out of the pine needles on the second playoff hole that's gonna go down as one of the best shots in major tournament history -- how. Who was that this is why we have the best game in the world and and that's the greatest tournament you know I tell my wife and kids do not bother me and masters weekend and that's why you wanna be locked in when when things like that happen. You know a lot of guys I can hook the ball pretty good not always when I want to that I've been there SS that's a -- hook and that was a lot of fun to watch I felt great for the guy it was fun. Gary did you. -- I expect him to do what he did mean -- is an aggressive guy so maybe the answer -- yes but just the result was probably a little improbable. And. No I -- -- this -- that the media punch out there something short of the Green where where Louis it has ball. That was pretty pretty impressive. You know he he makes comments -- a five a swing I have a shot so you hear talk he's one of these guys and we talked last week about the positive attitude and we're gonna look at Sergio scored a little later today. And he think he can do -- you probably can do it and Gary comprise speak to that a little more than I can but that was. That was schools not what he did there too but he played great all day -- shoot five or six under Tom. Did anybody even talk about him do we think you know he's a hands player in on this and that we were we were pictured him to be in the in the mix at the end of the day that's pressure. -- we know that Mickelson came into the day as as the -- but he thought Peter Hanson in his group -- really. Kind of just went away and is there's not much discussion about him. And the aftermath of the masters but. -- Watson's a great story. And Gary for. We've seen Watson really grown in popularity. Maybe even more so for just. His personality and some of the other things that he does the big ping driver the fact that he has that attitude of you know go -- for broken a lot of senses that generally yes he he's he's been. A quick. Growth in terms of popularity on tour right away considering he he's had had some success but. His popularity is even beyond what that his success has been at least early so far in his career. I agree with that and I think. Last week especially in the final round he didn't receive enough credit for how well he hit the ball everybody wanted to talk about. The excellent shot he hit in the playoff but. He really spent a lot of time in the fairway. And for a guy who does have a ping driver and a guy who was doing some fund -- and for a guy who tends to shape the ball upwards of 3040 yards and every shot. He he played a pretty Vanilla around the tee to Green he didn't even -- that often. He just kind of at the par fives in two. You know even the second hole and -- size and made his double eagle. Alameda birdie you know and he played very very -- around for having an idiosyncratic with sewing and ping driver and all the other almost politicos with a. I was hearing. I want to say Ken Venturi this week -- I'm -- show on Golf Channel he said he talked about how. That back in the old days with the balls in the equipment that they used to shape shots all the time and he said now. He that the balls are so good I guess or notre however when describing there so straight. That he said he can't hit those belly shots that you see you Watson do on on a more regular basis he said despite trying to we said that. Then the equipment and the ball itself it's it's a much better that you end up hitting straighter shots is automatically you don't see those. Huge sweeping in and Watson's on the record is said if you asked me had a shot that street that I don't know what to do it. Yeah well that's also the hardest shot in golf yeah it's hitting a shot but. There's there's definitely a point there you used to be able to hit. Bigger hooks and places now the ball was straighter further higher. From what I understand he played the lower spin volley plays in the pro V one acts and justice whom he played guys involved with as much -- he puts it. A top pitcher when the magazine this week where posting Packers club face. It was pretty pretty shot to his plane on the way through so he was really really working hard hook that ball. I'd be afraid to try to hit that shot that I wouldn't get it in the air are closed the -- down that much and that's why he's TV and I am now but. He's he's pretty he's pretty exceptional and and as they -- answer -- -- you wouldn't teach someone to swing like him but it's not how you swing it's a play. Well I think Bubba Watson is a perfect example of being a visually creative player first. He does not spend a lot of time off fussing over body movements and mechanics and technical type things and it's pretty good lesson for most out there that. It doesn't hurt to. Try to be a little less technical and mechanical times and try to play a little more by feel when you can there's a time and place the technique in this time and place. For the the creativity and and shot making itself. But it was a great example that. See a lot of people swing beautiful you seem up and down your brain injury go anywhere and these people swing greener but what they put on the scorecard but -- that he's the perfect example back to squad play the game. And try to get -- It is our WGR golf show here at 710 rankled you with you a yeah -- from transit valley media aggressive having fun. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- And our guest part of the trio and the roundtable this week Gary -- A pro from orchard park country club. And in their golf and that will get into Gary's. I guess we'll say yeah. Relationship with a indoor golf a little bit later in the show. You mentioned. Who stays and though the fact he finished the second and gets that albatross on the second hole. I just a couple of facts about that. There's only been seventeen. Double Eagles. On the PGA tour since 2008 so we're looking at a four year span only seventeen double Eagles compared. To a 130. Holes in line. You know much more it is much more rare isn't it that is it the second or fourth in masters history here -- there was the one in 1935 and the first ever on that second hole crack he had. And I mean who says -- not involved in making that ball land short of the Green. Takes it right -- forty yards takes a right turn in dropped in the perfect beat you know he had a great shot but you know that's also very lucky and I think too if. And maybe I'll be the first to admit I didn't even know about Adam Scott they knew about Bo van -- there was two hole -- ones on Sunday. But people were talking about the albatross Adam Scott had a hole in one on sixteen and -- and -- if they had they both had and that's how crazy Sunday it was. That doors apparel ones and and nobody was even. I really say much about that are let's go to film -- Mickelson came into the day. People are saying this is this is his chance to go -- jacket number four -- himself tied with tiger and some of the other greats. But that he gets to the first par three Jerry and the shot heads a little left and into the bleachers and an awful bounce. And headed this maybe bounce differently. We might be having two very different discussion right now but he gets a triple on that hole. And did you think he'd. That he didn't lose it right there or do you think it was the fact that it was there something upstairs that he got mentally defeated. It's just three strokes at Augusta something that he can overcome I would ABC he could but did you tell me what do you think there. Well firstly I think contrary to some of the popular -- instead opinion. I would have played the ball out of the bush is as well. I think he felt he could you know knock it out. Then his next on the Green and salvage five. At worst that would be probably like going back to the team you have to remember it's no. Still give me going back that either still on the 205 yard par three at least. As far as mentally losing effort that -- is okay. It was hard to tell because I'm like tiger there was no outward reaction to just kind of plod along and and kept moving so. I think it was okay. It's never a comfortable feeling but at the same time. You know he just did not Joyce. You hit a lot of golf to play at that point to you know he still had a lot of holes left he still -- a lot you still in the hunt -- he was off to a little bit of a slow start but he's that he's a streaky player he probably felt like he could get it going. Yeah I I think that Mickelson. -- Mickelson. Going in I think if there was a lot a lot of talk about the fact that he would you know really great really. Join the elites we mention woods and we know of course Nicklaus having the most Green jackets but I think. If if he was able to get that win. Who knows what that spring boards for a year for him because he had been playing well we know we RD had a wind. And in the following week after when you lost in the playoff to Bill Haas are -- -- a spring boarded him to really we kind of had three wins already this year very he's. He tied for third right now gay didn't play poorly I mean he's two shots back out of the playoff I -- each and he didn't he had some chances on the back nine minute. -- to maybe get little excitement in his around and and it just didn't work form this week. 8030 phi 5188552550. Tim freeze. Set to join us here in just a minute or so he was at Augusta. And he's also at Harbour town this week and it will update on what's going on at that in a minute. But the greens there still gave some people some issues even baba himself had chances. To win it on eighteenth to win on the first playoff hole and the greens. Heard that he wasn't able to to make those putts now greens speed maybe not necessarily the reason -- miss those putts but. There are a lot of times where. And you may be playing at your local course and you're used to the speed of the Green and and maybe get invited to determine our year and with a friend and all the sudden that the course that you're at the greens -- much on faster in terms of the difference of what you're used to. And even its terms of some of the pro they will say that Augusta definitely has some of the fastest greens on tour. Geary what what do you suggest. Guys used to playing at his local course all of a sudden maybe gets invited to play somewhere else greens are much much faster. What's that adjustment like what's what would you suggest and you. I have -- -- a pretty nice tip for that. What you can do is take when you don't really read a putt let's say read a putt that's going to be a right edge putt. IE in -- aiming for the edge of the hole. -- you need to do is just take the normal aiming -- your target and move it closer to buy a few inches or maybe as much as a half a foot. Just by making a visual adjustment they'll help you. Help you -- Create a differentiation in the speed with outs. Without changing your stroke a lot of times guys start you know wishing the ball down -- down with the fast speed dumped on the Green. Just have to move your spot move closer to and then you're gonna have the adjustment made before and actually excellent good tip -- -- like him and and a little time getting some. Oak -- and some downhill putts before I start around two on the practice Green and give you a great feel for how fast those greens -- speaking to sit down at the pillars. And and give yourself some time to adjust to him two point -- more even talk a little more on that it's coming up there but let's bring in. Tim freeze on the line -- is live with us here and is in Harbour town was at a -- -- -- over transit -- -- good morning. For either -- I don't. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Give us a thought or two -- -- gusts that we know that you're there walking around what was -- like and maybe something that we didn't see on TV that is worth sharing. It because there's just Italy everybody says like it was like to hear about it -- about it is just a different place we. I tell you what with a couple friends and we need to develop a lot of houses being bowl and tickets are from a ms. Baker's generation or generations ago you got to take care of these tickets otherwise -- We go -- in this bowl is why it is true we -- -- cherry hills all the Georgia State troopers will be given that Michael parking spot -- you enter Augusta. At 89 and it it's a whole different world those fellows on the that was where it was just a guy's jaw dropped that's that's a different place very -- We went out Saturday. What a cool saying that took DeWitt at one of the most perfect golf courses in the world. And it's everything it's cracked up to -- and just been there. You gotta get to walk and shoot I'm. Exhibit hilly and it's we have some great vantage point we actually works. Right off the fourteenth seed and you watts. We watch Phil hit it up and make an eagle and I Banda. -- games Sabres playoff games. There's 40000 screaming people women cry when -- made an eagle he he's got fourteen walk into -- Ivan people. I'd say what it was that really thrilled to be right there on Saturday of course we all think your single top of the board. So it's -- term and let that happen on Sunday. I'm which was pretty amazing but just to be there and walked around I'm great spot to be around five and six where you watch players. -- on five and walked right past you watch beautiful tee shot on par are 36. 22 really great thrill we spent the entire day and you buy lunch for all three people and hello appear Popper. -- -- -- all three did you get this stuff Kuwait out there it's it's -- a couple of answers here to bring home -- shop. -- beautiful and Jets look at Florida didn't see what you brought back for him to so I'm working on tour that's right at. That charisma you mention that then Mickelson has I know from the tournaments I've been at him where I've seen him. And it is it's like a lot very few golfers how he's able -- he. Walks around and just that smile even that he has sometimes it's like he sucks 40000 people right in the -- ought to root for are harder than anybody else that. At that you can see it I mean people it literally that the women don't take your eyes off on. It didn't hit through need and of course all the young Fella he's really not afraid heights five in summary and -- even trying things along the way other tour players are much more reserved. We saw that well that Harbour town seems saying what he still has really -- people's choice and you're yet to find it hard not to form into China. Tries a little crooked. Grind on the Audrey doesn't make everything but Manny is a pretty good. Pretty good short game -- to people just follow and it's -- Tim -- in transit valley with us here on the WGR bell show all right Tim you mentioned Harbour town in Hilton head South Carolina that's for this week's tournament is. And that's art course of the week profile tell us a little bit about Harbour town and maybe for for those of us that are listing here now that are gonna watch some of the golf on the weekend. But what should we be looking for at this course. That's one when we just left them among my layup. Up by any side here that. Harbour town so it's a beautiful at the tour players describe the masters is like the final exam. And then Harbour town that they make their way down. From a -- archer. And I think that -- to set a -- -- so much enjoy going down to. To see this golf course which is much different than Augusta Augusta more wide open -- much Rossi and trying to really. Kids now don't -- all over it's -- greens at Augusta or Hilton head it's very tight on you have to shape your shots. You you don't have to hit it long off the tee but he tended breezy and especially I make elbow down. We placed ourselves credit about the seventeenth sixteenth. All areas sixteen to dogleg par four finishing -- -- -- weekly a couple of years we can contention again a couple of years ago he. He chipped in coming in and really its -- -- these greens especially the eighteen added a small hole. Small greens so it hit -- shot maker's golf course you really have to put your ball in play in the fairway and the greens are small short and got to be pretty good. Just it's a fun place to watch for galleries to walk around every -- and I -- wondering elements of art gallery. It's at Harbour town they have a quiet time to receive go to Bennett -- -- big old side and and you know. Don't ought to be quiet kind of -- that there are no quiet -- everybody knows to be quiet interest in and out. -- -- -- -- -- have fun thanks so much for checking in with us and I'm -- rule be speaking again in the future -- -- thanks. Thank you very much guys appreciate -- have a great shot. For -- all right Tim threes from transit ballot joining us. Pretty nice week for him at a -- that Harbour town and he's on his way back now. Too bad -- up against the break I was gonna ask him -- -- -- ten things about leader Carl knots right now we have list but unfortunately got to get an update right Matthews with our with the update here we come back. Sergio if you missed his thoughts this week. He had some some interesting stuff to say -- get Jeff and Gary's thoughts on that we return. Right after this -- you wanna join -- 8030550. Is the number I'm rankles him back with more golf talk after this on WGR. This is an honor so special privilege of putting Green jacket I'll watch it as a kid growing up when vs Georgia we always talk about this turn. Later once a year -- Georgia again never dreamed about actually winning an -- W got sped -- BS a special time special place as a golfer. As a fan of the game of golf it's a special time. There is Bubba Watson. Very good interview. But a lot since that media loved the fact they get to interview him afterwards and yes he and is is gotta -- cool story we got some Bob affects your coming at that moment but. It is 730 on the WGR golf show I'm rankles deal with you every Saturday from 7:8 AM. PGA pro from transit Alli Jeff meet this is also the vice president of the Western New York PGA association. And our. Third man of the round table this week is -- -- PGA pro at Orchard Park. Country club and also part of in there awful talk about that the segment if you don't know what in their golf is all about. And Sergio Garcia with the quote of maybe the year here in golf in one moment but. And if you're waking up this morning and feel bad about yourself here's here's a way to make you feel about it measure your non golf affected today. Today did you know as Matt. 1976. Today. Ronald Wayne from apple you know -- that's. Percent rattling today sold -- 10% stake in apple for 800 dollars if you -- it it be worth over fifty billion. But he put it in and -- so worked out OK to have that at the point. So if your if your feel bad about yourself today Ronald -- today sold its 10% stock an apple for 800 dollars Theo. We army so when you're up on the first tee and you shank it right and goes OP. Just think you could be Ronald Wayne today and make you feel a little bit about negative thoughts and I think that's right. And the positive pitchers that's right. I'd Bubba couple things here you mentioned earlier Geoff. If you didn't know Watson actually owns the original general the automobile from the Dukes of -- Which easily which is definitely -- and it brings them definitely some more fans there his wife Angie. When asked about the fact that public it's the plan the champion's dinner next year at the masters. Says she thinks it's gonna be burgers from in and outs. From in and out burger because. She says if it was up to -- he would eat their seven days a week. So you might see in and out burgers at the masters next year at a -- that's right. This one more popular known but he's in a golf boy -- he and -- Jermaine hand and Rickie Fowler Ben Crane you may have seen his commercial. It's called the golf boys. Supposedly. I don't know I believe this he's and Watson has never taken a formal golf lessons life that's that's -- from all it's amazing to think that but. By the way you sing and greens workout videos -- that you'd Wear a jacket now well it's a funny it's funny. For the slowest player on tour he was last -- -- fact here. He was born and I will say he's maybe. But a true American here board in Baghdad. Florida. And when he not only has the ties the Baghdad but we know of course last year he went to play the French Open in France and called the Eiffel tower of the big. -- that upset the French media also insult and a couple other landmarks the the Arc de Triomphe and and Alou -- and all that sort of stuff and exits on the begins with a with a -- -- something like that though and taking the French media go over them last year for that but for sensitive. There's your there's -- player profile this week on Bubba Watson a little bit more. A fun about him OK Sergio Garcia. His quote very interesting one here and we're gonna spend the rest of the segment talking about the mental side of golf if you wanted to. Join us on anything they'll feel -- 8030551888552550. Rankles with Jeff Venus and your -- on a golf -- OK Sergio asked this week. From a bunch of European reporters after his round at Augusta on Sunday. -- about of course the reality of -- another major went by and he didn't get it done and here Sergio is -- Well that's the reality I'm not good enough and today I know it I've been trying for thirteen years and I don't feel capable of winning Garcia said. He went on to say it I don't know what happened to me maybe it's something psychological. After thirteen years my chances are over. I'm not good enough for the majors. That's it. Okay he. And that's that's a tough when Gary wouldn't you I mean maybe he's just down after having a bad turn manner just frustrated and he has them one by. Talk like that and you would know it's it's really hard to play well if you don't have a lot of confidence her faith I think is where a lot of people use your belief in your own game. I think you just use the perfect word faith you know listen to Bubba Watson speak he has that face that inner belief that inner confidence. And Sergio Garcia. It's almost shockingly disturbing to hear this quote. It's just the opposite. And -- golf we have. And it's -- -- -- automatic negative thoughts and one of the answer is called fortune telling. When you're saying I never I always. And in this case Sergio has some pretty strong I never seen here so he has lots of chance creeping around in his head. Yes the but the thought that guys that talent that we all know we came on the scene. In the 99 PGA it Modano with that shot when he's nineteen years old or he's running around a three year it's a shot around a tree brought -- up the -- And soul likable at that point. And he's had some ups and down -- -- I was at Bethpage you know two for the US open. The rowdy the crowd there in Long Island and he had his way Eagles go -- and not not he has some now but it was to the point where people were making bets for Beers in the grandstands for you know. -- -- -- twenties over under you know and. They and the crowd would count his lack -- you won. Two and he'd be in the fairway -- 150 yards out and the bleachers 1234. It was crazy I couldn't believe it and you know what he stand over the ball so he's had some sometimes of insecurity of being are not only over the ball but with his game. Well I don't know where if when he had the lead of the focusing on -- target trying to get a feel for the shot and maybe that's why he played well at that time you know. As a golf professional or -- as good players supposed to have a routine and his routine but it just been a little longer but he was probably get in. -- the shot I mean Nicklaus used to sit over putts for Everett -- there and he would just sit they're frozen but he was visualize in the putt went in and and sometimes it took me a little longer sometimes it was a little shorter. He seemed to be in a bad place right now it would be it would take some some positive reinforcement for awhile for him to to to get out of this that that. Well Jeff you bring up a good point. It would take positive reinforcement for awhile but you can't undo that process it does take a little bit of time we have to train your subconscious mind. Through some daily activities and habits and techniques but it can be done I don't know if he's in -- -- he wants to be done right now. He refers to it is maybe it's something psychological I think that's the understatement of the year -- excellent but not. It kept it can be reversed is just going to be Sergio strides he has to want it badly enough and maybe some some maturity of some -- well that you most if not all the pro golfers have a -- coach you do today but. If they don't have -- they probably talked to one at sometime or if you know the you have to have a lot of self confidence belief in your own game. Yeah I like to think that if you if you have a really good routine and if you're trying to see positive things and if he can just stay. If you look for the positive things in your golf game you can turn it around if you anchor these negative things I had a bad Chad I slam my clubs earlier anchoring the negative shot. If you get a good shot and get fired up over a good shot than your anchoring the positive shots and should I think you should be slop and all those bad shots as. As say it happens once a while it happens everybody. And try to get into the big shot you -- enjoy those and stop getting so upset about your match these are supposed to be having fun and when your hand on your point well. And Gary mentioned it and give -- chance -- second to talk about the the opportunities with in there to help your your mental game but. During the course of rounds we we seats so often it's gonna happen this weekend for those that are even go out the play that are listen right now you have that. Mental breakdown maybe during the during the round or. An opportunity for possibly one to arise where just you're having a bad hole. A couple of tough -- with whatever it is a shank and it compounds itself for a couple holes in a row and all of a sudden. You can tell may be even if it's somebody playing with like oh. This can be a bad moment what what's the what do you do that. I think firstly you have to be prepared for your round of golf I mean anytime you're gonna play whether it's. Nine holes or eighteen holes you're gonna have some ups and downs are gonna have some shots that. Are going to be really actual results -- gonna have some you'd you'd like to have back. So preparations a big key for that if you're mentally prepared if you're -- isn't perfect either when you go out. Just live your life. So you have to be prepared and then secondly you really have to just do your best of every statement every thought. Every element of your perspective. Just be positive and really have good perspective and and usually that will be enough to -- it through. Having some better reactions and actions and reactions. The the company that you're part of it's called in their golf and I of course follow him on Twitter so it's the thing to do if you wanna be cools the -- people on Twitter. You can do so -- at in their golf I end the AAR EG OLF. So if you're looking for. Things -- follow on Twitter you can do so again at in their golf and it is just talk about just. I guess that accompanies thoughts here Gary is I know that your your you very proud of what you've -- the guys have done so far. Well thank you and -- golf and their stance -- individual. Developmental approach to reaching excellence. So we don't take that lightly -- we really try to come across in our main message is what we call minded technique synergy. We know that golf was not all mental. Golf is not all technique it's really -- put it together that. That matters most so we try to get you to play your best golf ever. By using your your mental and you're you're you're thinking skills and your technique together so all of our our products and seminars. Teach people how to do that and if you think about -- you felt when you played your best round. You were sort of -- free and confident. We we really try to get -- -- in that state all the time so that your understanding what got you there is well as a what you needed to keep -- maintain that state. And both enjoy the game more and actually have better results. Carries just for good players at beginners is it for everybody. If it's for everybody. It tends to be the case that a little better players -- and identify with a more from the respect that they recognize the need to. And that sometimes is what makes them a little better player. -- try to encourage the twenty to 2530 plus handicaps to say look you know the reason why you're not a fifteen or twelve -- because you're not. Thinking correctly and I don't have their perspective you're not in not putting your money your technique together. We really try to avoid I guess sometimes it's easy to explain to about what it's not we try to avoid taking students out of the range. And just doing that lesson where you're hitting seven irons over and over and over to a target or -- the ball longer well that's that's important to -- -- discount that. But it's really about how you using your mind your technique together and that's it essential piece the message and to our knowledge there's no and all they're doing that -- -- get some companies that are doing the mental side of its top companies that'll that'll teach the technique side. Your typical PGA loss and I know I do this for years. Was just excellent the range and you know hit balls over and over were really trying to avoid that teach people play in and get more enjoyment of the game and and play play the best golf -- Have got a chance to see Gary. Where this company and give a seminar on it and they do very nice job of that seeking. In their golf dot com right website if you wanna I wanna check out more there and we got a couple of tweets just talking about. First tee jitters and stuff like that so we can get both your thoughts -- that let's get another update here at 741 and we're back. More the golf show -- also a look ahead at next week's Shell. You don't have to give us any sort of wisdom or anything just say hey I wanna win a free dvd. And you can have it so we'll take the fifth -- 8030515. To get that removing the chance to -- the mental side of of what's going on here okay tip of the week. Jeff mean this is why you're on the show because you're the expert and on this post here so us. Yes that give us a -- here some wisdom and which what's what's your -- here this. -- -- the thought we're gonna kind of work on our psychology one of the things I always tell people is -- the ball is not the target that you need to focus on your target a little bit more when you're playing golf yeah I see a lot of players look down at the golf ball down the golf ball maybe glance at their target. We should that your target a lot more and as soon as your -- come back to the ball. Take -- swing hit it. Pull your trigger whatever you do to have to hit that shot. And the other thing I like the topic is don't have you can only have one swing thought I think at a time and when not if I'm playing golf I like to have it be in the backswing. And then just focus on my target I don't like to have too many swing thoughts going I think it's just too hard to play -- more than once going thought. So -- Richard look at your target a little bit more remember the ball is not the target the targets on the golf course. And pull the trigger as quickly as you can't winterize it back ago while what -- that. Jeff and that's a fabulous -- it's a great place for people to start. And also encourage them to just practice their swing thought away from the ball real fast. Get your rehearsal and and then even just clear your mind even more over the ball that's excellent -- place for people to me. Here free throw shooters -- thinking about where their wrist is -- their elbow is we're feeder standing on the line trying to make free throws so you're trying to think about the target thinking off yeah. Good point there I there's -- tip for the week. Let's get what got one -- here and that Gary L that you take this one asking us here you can send us a tweet if you want to at Brian WGR. And talk about first tee jitters and still can't shake the first tee jitters what are you suggest here what do you think. Two quick fixes for that. Firstly it goes back to preparation. You need to prepare yourself the night before. Even days before with positive self talk positive visualization. Preparation is just not making -- -- -- of golf balls in your bag. So that's the first way I would doubt. To work with that just you know speak have perspective would be positive secondly when you're on the range warming up in the morning. Make sure that your last five to ten golf shots actually simulate. The first tee experience so go through your routine pick out a target dropped pictured in my of that all. Talked yourself positively take a few deep breaths. Things like that I'll do dramatically. Yeah electorate I'm my routine to just giving your routine is just another shot that it you know there Poulter it is funny I. Will even in. States on my close friends we you know will be in -- -- -- -- free you know playing here today had better bring an extra now they like bag of balls they put in him like well. You. You party planning on losing twelve today you know like that sort of thing it -- It is definitely funny to see that I we -- at this demeanor to your left Jeff next week and talk junior golf yep uh oh what's the what's the what's the you give us that nice -- a wanna tune in next week it's -- You get a kid who's interested in junior golfer gonna try to talk about where some of the good programs are -- -- junior golf in the area. What's your PGA has the junior golf tour in the and how to instruct juniors you just basically anything you wanna know about -- your kids going golfer finding places for them to compete for a player practice. You work like it's scary are when you work with a younger person what's what's kind of your goals in mind when they come to you. Well firstly yes I do have quite a few juniors will be junior program. It's firstly to encourage them to enjoy themselves and have fun and you really have to assess where they are if they're going to. Be motivated to practice or not are they just out there because it was maybe -- parents idea. So we try to really encouraged just and hit it meeting meeting their goals so they they're they're playing the game for life. Yeah we got 225. To 240 kids and our junior program -- and it's for me it's the most fun I have during the week teach -- that the kids always have such a great attitude in the fund to be around so. Are it will be looking forward to that. Wanna give you if you are you looking forward -- the -- this weekend the RBC heritage at Harbour town. It'll be on this weekend's. And Carl not Estes or leader at -- minus nine Carl Patterson to back -- minus seven. And then very popular to weekly that at minus six other bigger names playing. Brandt Snedeker who with the defending champion is right in it he's at minus four is tied for seventh. Zach Johnson's at minus three Tommy two gloves Tommy Gainey a minus two so and coach or minus one. Seventeen he even -- Immelman even though some decent names. One of those huge names. Taken the week off obviously. After the masters. And we want to congratulate Jonathan -- who called in and got the free dvd from in their golfer moving and the mental side of the game so congratulations Jonathan. Gary will be fearless are now -- he'll be -- -- can -- be in touch with you this weekend we will 22 hooked up with that free. -- Last thing here we're looking ahead here another good week weather what's going on over transit value. Course looking good I couldn't be any better greens are perfect. It's it's Cristina -- it's just wonderful to play. And for those that maybe don't know I think a lot orchard park country club Gary give -- a 32 -- I know you're there. What's the what's the course they're like -- just what's different what's unique about Orchard Park. It's in fabulous condition and you really need to know ball placement it's about -- only about a 6400. Yard golf course so it's not an overwhelming with distance. But you really you know where to put the ball on the greens as well as how to. Chip and pitch the ball a little bit. In about some of the especially shots Paul thanks for coming in this week Gary thank you very much enemy that you.
