Clubs or -- there. You know getting their full swing going -- the other chairman schedule and things like that. The our junior tour is doing real well we got that our members -- you -- camp into 13 times already so it's it's been an exciting start of the season. Absolutely. I think that you know when you talk about the excitement of maybe being a member at a club or being in men's club at a course or something like better. Women's club or whatever events that you can maybe get yourself in any -- that does it adds the excitement and the buzz of being on the golf course in an up part of something. Regardless of what the scale is -- I think you know you get excited about that it's. PGA tour. Aria -- what you do when you're trying to compete against your peers. There's always that little letters which are the first team no matter what earlier at the and it's it's -- that's the I guess that's why is you know that's why hit some balls in and hit to have a little something play for a team in the weeks. They have too much club and don't -- up you know you're gonna lay up when Nicklaus -- -- yeah. Yet -- between two clubs anywhere around us hurt you if you between seven and Maynor hit. The eight iron place knowing yeah when -- up or you know -- in the rough Jews take a swing you don't have to lay back and and when -- into the trees -- people league they take people immediately -- three iron or four or some may not have enough loft. Make sure you have enough loft together on that line that you're in first one trick I've found is that thing if you can potentially hit that shot in the ball they hit on the call these tend not to go to hide so. That's one way to keep your shots down after pitching out of the trees on some of an expert on that also you intentionally or unintentionally. Yes. One thing though that I think and maybe it just comes with maturity of being on the golf courses that when I was. Playing probably in my in my younger days of our you know missing a drive in your in rough. It was always there. Problem majority of time it's it's possibly that punch out or. Just that safer shot it may but I was I was always so consumed a -- get this up on the screen instead of in a lot. Forty yards short. I know one is. I forty yards short of the green I know I have like -- 95% chance of doing that. And then IQ if I can just hit a good pitch I got my eyes I still at a very reasonable chance to -- myself part whereas. If I go you know try to hit this shot that maybe is a 5050 shot and doesn't go well. Now I got the double stare me in the face possibly if I don't get it out or that you know catches up and also on the way in. And done humane and it's something -- know that I've tried to train myself always the let's and I. I'm not gonna hit. Eighteen perfect tee shots -- not that good so at some point I have to make -- have to make those Smart decisions and that's been something I know I've been trying to battle it. Well known at eighteen perfect -- the and the you think you mean happy forty yards for some people at the year so people have forty -- beat her -- her bag so obviously if it meaningful way into your strength he had. Adding I don't think about that enough and maybe a lot of people on either is that shot that -- shot in news. Especially on par fives some times. I'm always thinking of just how far -- hit and I know that's always not the best idea because of what you exactly say. Sometimes others think well I know I'm not reaching it so okay and what's the club that -- what's the -- is that the farthest. And there's probably holes maybe that's okay but there's also hold me to where it's not okay. Or depends on the left layup on the right side of the fairway little things like that they helped me be the difference you make a birdie there're good par there and it gives you little momentum and then that it's now. The Berkeley -- pro -- was Alex we're in my classy one that that was a nice score 65 over Berkeley that's pretty good -- even in the better ball. And I noticed they may read about beyond the PD GA the match plays those mingle well -- Some of the matches are pretty tight decline over TCB decision this -- and nice place to play some real good players and that events and I scores being shot so. It's good to see golfers in mountain we've got some really really good players and -- New York I don't think people realize how many guys we put on the -- -- and everything else you -- How many guys we hear from the senior tour from our section we've got your three guys that remain the senior tour and our section. Other than Florida or California agreement be number one in that category so we had some good players. And you wanna hit a low shot possibly underneath underneath the tree branches what kind of swing at the might look at -- here you can usually if you want a ticket low club. I usually say are we gonna grab a foreign don't trying to put anything close a rough gonna do it for you so you can open up. A lower lofted club movement back in the stance and it's gonna with that -- -- it's going to be a steeper swing plane. And that can usually keep it down low for -- but it's gonna have a little bit more -- it and get out of that rough. And tibia to launch if you had a have to monitor for just one thing but to. Good morning line -- they're gonna matter if you're our great thanks. Bonnie what's what's the latest with with what's going on with the UN though many in the buffalo area especially those that have been following year career so far. And media I know you join our golf show here and LBJ are at times over the past couple years. Now what's the latest on what it's going on with your golf game. Where LA area and he replaced -- couple years ago July of 2010 and then down that's come along pretty good I'm back playing a little bit the medical extension like that didn't work out very well for me from the -- Champions Tour. But I am back peck at it. I am doing -- Monday qualify and trying to get some sponsors exemptions and I've been lucky enough and I'm gonna actually get for the next -- Germans. Actually earn my way into the players championship as well as senior PGA which coming up next week. And I got a sponsor's exemption into -- Into a couple other -- so excited to get back back to work. Needs you good. The woman -- -- players doing great I'm I'm unfortunate got a little cartilage tear in my other Meehan I'm gonna struggle with it at the moment but. Our preparation -- -- when a plane now -- -- it's that allows you to do that any racial. Come along all right technical program that have surgery to get there. Repaired. Later and then later -- Like how tough is that I mean I'm sure you're not alone on the Champions Tour that not only are guys battling. Trying to perform their best with their golf swing but the fact of just. Physical things that happen your body and I'm sure you're not alone right I'm sure there's other stories from. Other Champions Tour players that are going through this thing. We have a physical therapists were several matches that the travel whipped us on our tour and some challengers there's quite a line to get into so. I'm not alone -- in hours as we get older at this stage storage and like there's something going on so are. You know it's just part of it got to play through it then trigger later may be showing a little bit there are some days because this makes things that. It's it's intimate thing it's gonna keep me from from playing and competing here and actually reached. He knew may be money for those that are here you for the first time I'd just talk about your connection to buffalo and I know that the guys that have sit with your Jeff and Tim know all about your background but. Maybe there's -- -- here for the first time that hasn't heard much about it just Telus your connection to Western New York. Well back in the late seventies early eighties I was born on the -- on the PGA tour. And we have pro am correct -- -- We come from Toronto our -- to. Two at Binghamton for the next event which happened buffalo player pro am here on Monday. And that's -- at the -- a lot of people creek -- 1983. I said it's I've been planters six years and decided that an amount that is was -- get more I wanted to go with a golf game so. I was you know figure about don't my other things it's not about -- stockbrokers. I had applied to a couple of sure a couple of up germs in in Iowa which is where it throughout. And that he was really coming together and then I got a -- and Eric Gerlach credits that the -- -- golf weapon. And rightly command an interview and wanting it to another and now we moved out here in the march of 1984. Financially just I love the area. This is this -- -- now -- We razor -- treat children here and in my right right all the way from Iowa came up to both slope and I could get her out of western new York and we love it here. Excellent and it's it's a cool story and I know that everybody in the buffalo golf community is a proud that your offense and playing golf and it's the family transition and all that sort of stuff. Tell that I know that we hear that so much from from any tour player regardless of whether it's LPGA PGA chief mr. player that. It's a commitment from the family to two to be a successful golfer write that they've got to give up some stuff in order to be supported. Well that's for sure. When I was when I was turned fifty expect where I guess there's 48 we sit down as a family and Arturo. You know Mary Joseph which Hitler was that I wanted to do when I needed their support to. To do that. And restore our youngest what sort of home and I was gonna miss a lot in his junior and senior year is Sharia. I'm gonna try to play in the Champions Tour. Erin they all were right behind me and very supportive and our window without a structure. It laden you told you told a story on time but in agree with with Nicklaus. Is that true US set -- Hammond that you had a pretty good year plain and some majors some like any mention. That's right actually against and to tell me on the phone. It was I've known for quite awhile course played you know plan on the regular tour. I actually played in an exhibition with him back and early nineteen. I was still on the amateurs -- nineteen six. And or read about 101000 people following one group and or nickel ratio certain. The error Iowa professional here they are amateur years it was a very memorable they actually. You probably had a lot of memorable days that is taking Denny first -- to Augusta National up on that list. Just about anything you get an interest memorable that you are here again -- yesterday -- like -- actually -- that play expect a few years -- -- when I brought it down there. We played with speed the Austro are there -- that I don't think it or seeing like any first ever have. -- that's your 736 time Lonnie -- with us Champions Tour player and -- you mentioned we'll just assess about the planet just. When people may be invested this question before but what's your favorite course to play. Is is a gust of one that's maybe want near the top of the list her or which is one that you say this is the course I love the most. I think the back nine to -- is probably the most strong that you could have. The risk reward on every shot there is is just incredible but. I always put you know Pebble Beach up but the top the list to machinery there and so incredible and it's and it's a particular golf course as well so keep that that this scenery untapped market the golf course is it's sort of the chart the. I think I think Pebble Beach for many -- the -- you mentioned Pebble Beach in Augusta -- for those that dispute that watch some of these on TV. Would probably be some like and I know money every time around here when -- only I know oak hill's gonna post. The PGA championship. Next year we were discussing the LPGA event -- in Rochester locust hill. And you mention of course -- burn I think that might be. What people would say could actually buffalo post some sort of regular events but I have no not even necessarily saying a PGA tour stop but. Do you think Fred -- could do it and do you think even just buffalo itself you know the golf community here probably well enough is this. An area that it could pull an event like this off at some point down the road. Oh I think I think sure for sure. In 1990. They had an opening for the US senior open. And we got wind of it and at I have the you wish you a commander in. And -- the players and look replaced over -- we're also getting an event. And they just felt like we were -- -- lacking and in some of the facilities that we're that were needed at the time and we certainly are gonna spend some money. I don't know that our club that the we're willing to do. That particular time but. I think pure electric burners and much better shape financially and certainly the golf persons -- -- to -- to not we could definitely can host an event there. The golf courses I I think corner of throw one of the greats in the country. So. You know whether or not that'll overcome the past who knows but -- certainly the possible. Oslo area would be a great -- that the to have an event and I think it's the cnet's senior open -- senior PGA should be just stick to act in place. -- -- goes back to -- of their money for the senior and the that's the wrong for me in -- our. We if we have. What we have 7000 or will polished player and it occurred in just over 71 -- now. And for our majors. Oh lead will play as much as seventy choose sometimes -- assembly 300 so. You know they they use everyone -- every inch of that -- and we might even. Turn a couple of the par fives are little on the short side in the.
