Well after two straight wins the bills go and give up 52 points in New England. I -- that has had Bulldog and I having flashbacks to many other seasons and many other shows. San Diego at some other teams who are those who are the top contenders for the -- you have AFC west writer. With San Diego and Denver. They -- look at the three teams in the AFC north. -- one team in the AFC south and then you have delinquency got seventeen right there. And those somebody has to step up to -- number eight and number eight is just a couple of an odd couple wins a couple of breaks away from being. Playoff contender and that's what Buffalo's that's been there I mean -- but the jets. Would be that to one of those teams but clearly there often is going to be horrible and I think they're doomed about a six or five -- -- Here's -- so. Sir John here's the thing the thing the thing is the bottom line is it's hard to talk or think playoffs with all the points you've made him we've had these kinds of conversations a few times -- this season. With all that it's hard to think playoff spot this group when you have that game in the jet game you know that's that's a hundred points. Are you right I mean it is but it -- and that's -- scheduled sometime this so important and the schedule still has the benefit. Of helping his team about the fact that they're non common games against the jets they've they've already wondered if -- taking care business -- They've got the two were -- Pittsburgh I was already beaten the jets so with a victory over Kansas City to victory over. Cleveland on the mechanism something I don't like it. I gotta get to -- here we have the struggle to find. Positive things that I'm trying to stay positive on that just because -- see how -- -- conference does. And somebody has the least get the benefit of going to can't sit down conference seven of the worst state teams and football are in this conference. While we can we reduce fuel in the timing it's good to be positive I would say preside you don't want to watch that game and have all the he did just -- you don't -- like it was a well worn code at this point the familiarity you've got. He hasn't been a bad player at all for the bills but he was beaten soundly in that game too. They ran for 200 yards between the tackles on the bills and once again is as often happen they did it with. There's their second running back was a guide and a minibus had ever heard of before how do you consider Daria is at this point of his career. And would you answer this may be considered to the the really good players that were drafted right after him and it looks like a very good group. From like one to seven at least get some quarterbacks right after that. In -- last year's draft. Yeah it's. Amid disappointing that it is probably how you put it because you would think particularly if you've got so much as far as positive assets on the defense -- and. And Kyle Williams is back playing his natural position which is because the tackle. Now the area should be able to step up and do much better -- collapse the pocket and he has not been able to do that so. He's the pick up has given up a couple big but the wind and the -- -- -- The whole premise for this season and was putting this wine together to scare people to attack. The disrupt. And clearly didn't give except for maybe one game that has not happened and so and it may be difficult in this game coming up against these campers does go 49ers but. I mean it's got to happen because the -- not the seat and was always very quickly. Yeah that's that's the part that it's hard to figure it did to get optimistic about John because that is the thing that was different and if we were to believe the gap to close with New England like to be better than New England. You don't go to to make the playoffs we know that we looked at it all along I did anyways just be better in the jets and you'll have some traction but. Holy cow for the best part of the team supposedly the defense of blind to be the biggest part of the problem. Against New England is just it's awfully disconcerting certainly -- Yeah I have been and they get -- all the critics. Rightfully. Taking shots and well now the pressure is going to be honest sometimes eliminate the pressure can make things worse and so they've got to try to find a way to get this thing working on a correct basis. They still have a look at about eight -- team but to what it is scheduled breaking for them. And now things are going in the they could easily be seven and knowledge they can take advantage of these. Which you could call winnable games the one thing that they have even though it didn't show last week is a very good defense and the defense that. Keep them in games now last week it -- Bryant and I -- absolutely shredded them. That'll about when you're trying to break and a couple 112 quarterback who was injured from last year great -- And he had problems they had problems the safety position. But offensively they've got one of the best receivers in the -- of Larry FitzGerald they should have a better running game has been a disappointment Ryan Williams is coming up that's. Patella tendon tear from last year it hasn't really done too much so far but overall -- mean they're good team but they're not for another team. Even though they've been winning with Kevin -- Kevin just has that look of being more back up the starter. And cut that's not doing too well on -- don't even last week -- first stop. I'm amazed that they won that football game I mean they're down -- nothing pretty early or at least in the first happened chilling virtually no light them and somehow some way to hang in there. And then -- did -- make couple plays and here's Kevin -- make -- a turnover in the final few minutes that almost cost of the game and that knock on him. Is that he's a quarterback that is you know little gun shy ideally tend to get hit a few times and all of a sudden he's not the same quarterback and I think -- all the Tommy Kelly comment. That that always scared. That was that was one that still sticks let themselves. We watched the -- on the -- -- a trap game that very well could be the rams were winning and the cardinals losing and -- -- -- -- for the put on a quarterback like Kevin -- John back to a schedule point here your fond of making and it's favorable to the bills -- has -- The NFC west ESPN today at one point was debating. Whether the NFC west is the league's best division. Could you say that it is. We could say for the month of September it is because look at all the big victories and Arizona won in New England. You got. San Francisco. Team that's still three and one that is considered one of the best -- you've got Seattle beating Dallas. And also be in the green bay Packers and there's a lot of big wins and -- -- -- now they've won ten games out of position and I think last year they only want about eighteen. For the whole season. So in the month of September which doesn't necessarily translate through the rest of the season they probably have been the best position. Stocks they've got three really good defense is hampered Cisco Arizona and Seattle. As they get an up and coming teams certainly in Saint Louis but for -- they're not there but at least. You could see that they're making improvements so overall on the it is that the good -- September -- -- have to see how it can hold up. John how long how tough good job Sunday for the bills don't San Francisco. Extremely tough because he got going against the team that creates turnovers a team that last year had a close -- 48 turnover ratio and unfortunately. Great is it is to have Ryan Fitzpatrick with twelve touchdown passes are among the league leaders in touchdown passes. It's still seven turnovers seven interceptions and -- that was something that he made a point that he was gonna cut that back and guess what it did not get cut back and. Now which you worry about. The two injuries on the offensive line now create depth problems because one more injury -- disaster and and the backup step up and give him protector. Protection a look at with the jets and the -- Totally shut out although I don't know -- put -- offense right now they could score against anybody. But totally shut out by the seven probe or is that the forty -- put out there on defense so this one's going to be a very tough task. John -- with -- us here on WGR. It's funny thing about these two games it's like a two game road trip the bills are treated that way they're going out there and staying out there and if you knew that John. You know the good news is -- keep Arizona in the game and the bad news is it keeps the opponent in the game and so consequently and I think you could see it from Miami. That. You know they would you want the bill should be in the game against Arizona with maybe one or two plays the went toward the end of the candidate they do that they can't get that split. Or let's bounce around a little bit before before we get to some other teams. Particularly in the AFC may be the Steelers the Bengals the jets. I had this thought the other day. I think I I sentiment about yesterday with the respect to the the concussion issue when. The drama surrounding that as the season came about. Are you able to tell us John that that things are different or or really much improved in the NFL. With with respect to these hits are are their -- more than they're used to be about hearing about suspensions what what progress. Has the NFL made in this way. Coming up -- to get that'd be -- link to can be better of course to get better I don't know. -- that the whole concussion issue is one. That is still being studied and I think it's gonna continue to be -- I think that you can see that that is already been one suspension for a hit that led to a concussion that was last week. With Joseph -- of the Denver Broncos and it's going to continue I think that you concede that it opened up the middle of the field for wide receivers now work. It would DeSean Jackson can go in the middle pretty much without. With a minimal amount of fear. I'm still concerned about the equipment and I still think more studies have to be done on the equipment. So that the equipment can at least eliminate some of these problems you're never going to eliminate concussions because they'll. Even if you put the right. Adding on there is still out. Body that's coming in -- you're you're chart your whole body your car and your whole brain when you're making these fixes so. I think it improve but there's still a long long way to go. Like Sanchez gets the start and then after that all bets are off maybe even in this game there could be a change which you have the same Marjorie instinct -- the same about the jets. Had almost as much in one game as people have been able to generate all year and the only pass completion to people had. What is the what is the story on Sanchez I've kind of enjoyed defending him over the years because of the playoff record just the overall record and they'd like you know he he'll get it together beats us -- beat the bills. But I mean John I think. I mean some of it. Is it he doesn't love the game monopoly dizzy -- team made the wrong way like what what what is the what is the inside scoop on. Well I think the inside scoop does that mean he is a good competitor he probably isn't the greatest leader but he's good enough. But you -- say he's probably the best in everything that he does and maybe. In his personal life as far as the girlfriend that he's probably a -- I don't know maybe he has maybe he hasn't. But as far as what he's able to do on the field and he's not a very good short. Pat Serb and and his passing numbers are not good there. Is an intermediate passes he's not very good. I mean you can see that in certain games when their defense plays well politically big games he can at least perform well he does have some fourth quarter comeback ability. But overall he's just an average quarterback who's. To really success or failure dictated by the surrounding parts when he was -- going to the championship games they have five players. A least when that would go on offense skill players that have the ability to catch fifty passes now you look up what Santonio Holmes on the only one left. It really Dustin Keller and hip hamstring injury so the talent around them drops -- performance drops and that he drops. Real quick on a couple teams Cincinnati at three in one playoffs last year are they. -- -- had a real good on an identical great play caller in Jay gruden they've got a quarterback whose theory he's a very good. Any any adult and they've got one of the best young receivers in football and AJ green and coaching wise they had an incredible game last week. Four cornerbacks were missing in that game and what he ended up doing Marvin Lewis put a scheme together. Downpour quarterbacks that held Blaine Gabbert hit eight point three yards a completion that's incredible they're getting better pass rush. I mean they are for real. Lastly Pittsburgh you thought you said earlier thought Pittsburgh will be all right some guys are getting healthy. Say a little more about that if you would please. Got an Adobe the -- fine and they had to the get a little bit of Rashard Mendenhall that is a little bit of a running game I think they probably gambled and lost by trying to go to the Oakland game without. James Harrison and Troy Polamalu are trying to get those guys right -- fell apart in the second half. I think guys just -- matter where they'll get all caught up told by the -- they'll get a chance to come home -- a very tough game against Philadelphia. But once they start getting into the home games and what they start getting into the good part of their schedule I think they'll get into a little bit of parole so I mean I still think with Ben Roethlisberger. And it decent defense it's not the united dominating as it has been in the past. But it's good enough don't they should still be fine.
