What I see is not enough intensity and urgency that could be on any segment or as far as any part of our group. Your thoughts on what's up what the defense and why there's no intensity or urgency the last couple again. Well you know I've had more than two where borders commons which obviously. Obviously guys you know we're disappointed over the last two weeks and certainly things have not gone well. There's an understatement. I you know they've got really focused on there's a lot of football still to be played -- and we can't change celestial which we all know that and they are focused these -- -- on beating the cardinals and another sugar coated either but you know that's bad news would be the focus in phenomenal let their bodies I'm not recover upper body but. I think everybody in the organization is more urgency. You know we we came -- of this season. With high expectations and we still should have higher expectations and our focus is to be this weekend. And try to put the last couple weeks in the rearview mirrors typical -- this. They -- and but he'll be Alice by the way at 9 o'clock on Friday from from Phoenix so make you know that folks. When we when we -- training camp you know you talked about this season the goals the expectations taking the next step the fans deserve it and all of that. How much of a step back at the last two games been for the organization here. Well you know it's certainly has been surprising. You -- we came out here we're playing two very good teams obviously at home and wearing when you're up 217. Conan the middle of the third quarter and and then to come home player really good San Francisco team we knew they were -- -- you know an enormous challenges. -- but I think everyone's surprised that what the final outcome has been and then. You know as we did talk about our -- mentioned going into the and training camp this as the years that we put a lot of expectations. On ourselves some we we do some things are free agency. We've got a couple good drafts. We've kept the continuity of the team together. And you know we've. You know through 55 rounds were two or three years now where you want to believe but you know -- -- cliche -- there's a long way to go just looked at the last couple years. With team didn't have gone to the Super Bowl have. Adversity during the middle of the season or some pointer in the season and they've they overcame -- and that's what we have to do. As the CEO for the franchise right now where -- your. Level of faith level of confidence in the GM and head coach. Obviously a high level of confidence. You know that that hasn't changed in and his waiver. You know but he is you know work for -- for many years I have. Tremendous respect for what he does and how he goes about his business and in as I mentioned earlier every one of bosses accountable. Every one of your organization. Everyone is focused on trying to bring a winning product to our fans. That's what you're in the game for -- you're not in it for any other reason. What to win and I'm disappointed is the people listen. -- on a day to day. Basis how involved you get in terms of the CEO. With football ops I mean would you ups have you talked to buddy your. -- had a meeting which in or done anything out of the ordinary this week because of how the last two games have gone. Well historically power how hard go about that is you know I talked to body every day. More than once today. And you know I do -- During the course of the season so much you know relative to you know the coaching part of it you know how we're structured is you know that really sort of filters down through. -- -- And when it comes to you know the -- operation. You know I've been I've evolved and everything is is CO the organizations that that's my responsibility. But when it comes to you know our roster when it comes -- the coaches so it's really do -- responsibility in this or property in here. Does he still I know I guess I am asking you to speak for buddy but I assume you've had this conversation with him does he still believe in this roster. Yeah I'm records speak for -- I think we all believe -- you know we've we've put a lot of time and effort and do the construction of -- bodies. And his staff have been done -- -- to work putting this altogether and we you know I think everyone in the organization believes that we just have to execute and they're put a couple w.s on the board. -- spread awareness from Arizona the bills of course play the cards on Sunday we'll have again here on W charts for a five game. What about mr. Wilson and I don't know what you can or can't say how involved is she still on a day to day basis out. What kind of input would he have as things have gone badly the last couple games. Well I talked to mr. Wilson. Daily arm almost daily basis and nobody does well. He's you know very involved as far as time is up dated on and everything relative to the organization that has changed. In this sixteen years I've been here so. Obviously he he feels the same banks we all do and a sense of urgency. Two to put a couple of dimension for a couple wins on the Borg moved forward certain this Sunday and and I think you know all of us serve all the search express -- same sentiment it's all cliche. But if we can get a WR here on. On Sunday and come home. Three and three. If that's what our focus is a bit. -- ask if you look at it. You know you lose for the jets and I still think that's kind of ahead -- -- for a lot of people you beat Kansas City beat Cleveland and then you lose to New England San Francisco the I think -- people wouldn't be shocked that you lost to New England in San Francisco but it's how the game played out my question is I guess this. You may have played two Super Bowl teams at the very least you Super Bowl contenders the last two weeks. Did those games -- showed that there's maybe a bigger gap than you flop between where you are and where the top teams in the league. Yeah I think it's -- -- -- hard that -- -- -- a little bit surprised. Was it a little bit surprised some. Very surprised at the final outcome. You know obviously you knew going in to bowl games. They would be enormous challenges. Well yes I think like everybody. You're surprised at what the outcome more lows. And it just shows that you've got to -- Reuters news up and and do more war because. Yeah the final outcomes and both of those games from the third -- honest not. What you expect him. And it's unacceptable so you know we've we've got to figure out -- way in and -- Specter -- when -- football and and get back to playing the way we do against Kansas City great. When asked about leadership because. Couple he's coaching -- brought up the after the during the game we brought up the idea about mental toughness the team needs to be mentally offer and we. Mentioned -- comments yesterday about there's you know where's the sense of urgency needs to be there on defense. Assess your leadership here on field player leadership do you believe there's enough of it are you still confident you have the proper leaders. -- -- readership. Just over played quite a bit powered when it comes winning or losing you hear those. Those kind of different elements of leadership. In. Major winner and a bunch of games and you like New England. As for for many years she -- their about their business like approach and if you're went into Baltimore. Electric for a few years you hear about the -- at the -- -- springs and leadership Abrams. There's different styles that they keep you where you -- ago. But when you're not wearing you hear the opposite there's not here there's not a matter of -- we've got a lot of guys on this team. That has been leaders every step of the way and there. And they're playing life and I think we have more than enough leaders to help us get to this rough stretch. Yeah I agree is actually in terms of I'm not a big rock rock guy Russ I think if you want to lead you lead by actions you know lead by words you can have a guy. Stand up and give the greatest speech in the world the locker room and he plays like crap who's gonna follow one. So I think it's about what you do on the field so do you have. Enough good play I mean you have those players -- enough play makers who can provide leadership through action. I personally very much leverage do -- -- -- a lot of leaders on this team. Across the board and and I certainly believe that they can help us get through this. You're out the team decided to stay out in Arizona stay out west can you talk a little bit about that process. The positives and negatives and what ultimately -- you guys to decide it's best just to stay out there for the week. Yeah what happened power was on the schedule came out we saw the fact that we are back to -- you know out west something which our body and Shannon talked about two. The positives and negatives of flying out services -- turnaround coming right back so. You know we've put in place to start looking and opportunities aren't here in Arizona I I think. You know it's -- it's different and I can tell you in my time we never had a situation like this forward and back to back. That we just being sort of tired in like regard training camps. Everyone's together. And it's an opportunity did you know -- to just be together as an organization. And will see on Sunday 00. A. -- credit -- from Arizona I I wanted to ask you about. Chandler got a lot of a lot of talk this week as you might suspect about the defense because of what's happened last two weeks. And because of what people thought would be an improved defense and how it's it's just given up like tons and tons of yardage. -- and we bring it up which and any you know he said he still has a 100% faith in Dave Wannstedt. You know it's it's his defense team and doesn't get involved with that really he said he really kind of stays away from the defense. Do you think as head coach. It's time for him to get involved with the defense. Well you know I regret coaches involved and everybody you know I know these you know it's just. When you've static. We would -- credentials. That's the ball -- -- -- You know great. Confidence you know issues where. You know we've we felt you know when when it was I don't trying to be your defense of coordinator and you know obviously. You know on that side of the -- the ball they've said you know enormous success everywhere -- and so you know again we're in the rough patch. And there everyone in the organization. Is accountable for that we just have to figure out a way to get through. I asked as to what you know about what -- thought about what it's going -- what do you think is the biggest problem right now. Here's CEO what do you think. Earlier I just. It's a little bit of -- -- -- are quite frankly. You know obviously we've sort of maybe investments. Going into the season. You know I've felt very confident. That. You know we have. You know kept their core of this in the continuity together. I'm also as a ball which you know -- I know we've talked about on this show we talked about. There's a serious about keeping guys together. And you know -- you know keeping spirits and Stevie and and the guys that we we talked about men and some pieces like Mark Anderson and Mario. Feel very good -- all about we're of this team and how it's constructed. And you know I I think you have to the world body -- said yesterday I think what it would have been that we've -- a little adversity. And time. And for whatever reason. You know we do we did bounce back from a you know especially -- San Francisco. The other week the couple weeks before Cleveland you know when we were there was 1714. And they were driving. You know the teams stood up and had a big stop and you know we were able to have you -- -- came out and finish and I think you know from our standpoint. -- we've got frustration little adversity we've got to overcome it. And and play with a hard high level of confidence and try to close out games and finished camps and would we certainly. Did not do at this past week for sure. What they're -- -- game that's a game that you need to close. -- it Mario Williams is he's I know he's one guy out of eleven but obviously he's hit the big contract he's the focal point of of the big move of the off season and you're in your moves to retool the defense. How much of of his play his struggles do you think are affecting the overall defense. But I think you know it's plate with Mario I think it's almost like -- quarterback you know they get too much credit to mark blame him and I think at his side. You know Mario it has played every snap and has been effective in in in a lot of different ways I know we all look it's it's acts in. Quarterback hurry and all those kind of things and yet he's he's certainly. He supported better and you know everyone is supported better but you know I mean there's a lot of things that he brings to the table. And has brought to the table. You know to get help us in in a variety of ways but. We don't when you look at it and I know how -- -- -- looks that is well it certainly hasn't helped against wearing -- certainly hasn't helped their servers Cisco. You know but that those of the facts but. You know I certainly think you know we've brought him and to help stabilize that defense. You know we serve all of us you know everyone on this all of this be accountable -- just what. An offense never really spent much time on offense to think everybody's really stunned by what's happened on defense but on offense. I asked about whether -- not -- you have the same level of confidence in the GM and the coach what about the starting quarterback who seemingly has regrets. Yeah I mean I think obviously Howard you know from that standpoint you know we've we've we have. We haven't played. As well and that's the ball leader in when you talk about it being accountable to everyone. And defense the ball here is the same thing. You know across subordinate. The entire roster and and we've got to do a better job. I'm -- front as well. You gotta stay on the field. And -- -- jobs that we withdrew -- yes we therefore have confidence and some reaching the guy do it. And he's done it many times. Just when you put a couple -- back to back like we have. Everybody takes the blaming and its share deployment and -- were so. -- the near about. -- you know before I get to Miami and quick question the trade deadline they moved it right is it this month next month when is now. Later this month okay. You guys going to be active trades are rarely done in season in the NFL site nobody ever really talks about the NFL trade deadline but are you guys looking. You know like audio or -- and you know it's true -- organizational plus if there's a way to make our. Our squad better. We certainly will look at it but you know it's like the first -- department does every day there have been look at. -- everything -- anything to assist the rosters so you know -- but it just another tool and resources available to us. You're a little over a month away from the Miami game. Last night we -- about 7000 tickets and obviously last few games are gonna help ticket sales what's. Right you still there you were fairly confident fire called -- that game would be sold out are you still. I'm still fairly confident that we still have some work to do quite a bit of work to do but I think. I think we're we have a good opportunity to -- game. I'm not as confident with the games in December. Do I how many things have left for the Miami game. Miami and there were roughly around 5000. Broke we've event and that's still quite a bit inventory to move. You know over the next six weeks. But you know that our focus is to -- games sold out and make sure that it's available on Tuesday. You still around. In the twenties I assume for the December games. We're down -- an overhead. Pretty good success with this Saint Louis skim over the last few weeks. Sort of very games down you know probably closer to about fifteen. Maybe even below that but we still have a long way to go where adults Purdue -- there. I've four let's go. Toronto deal any news. Another big you know I've been on the road for awhile now so nothing to report as of yet and I know you're gonna ask -- about police. And I'll just say that you know we've we just keep but I have discussions. With our. Constituents on that side of the house and will -- will continue to do that. Actually I'm gonna throw wild card match I wasn't that I wasn't gonna bring this one up the Jim Kelly was on last night with Bob patients young on his sport show. And he talked about you know the future of the team and you it was nothing new -- and you've heard this before should publicly stated. Based publicly stated he'll do whatever he can. To keep the team in buffalo. But again didn't didn't wanna talk about it with Ralph because Ralph doesn't wanna talk about and he's trying to respect the owners which. I won't if Jim Kelly says I can keep the team here. Why would Ralph taken meeting them. Well I -- I don't wanna get into here who meet through Peru and they -- not -- -- -- respect for and and you know his fervor to keep this good team here but obviously it's a lot more complicated than that. You know on. As far as. I don't know I put it it you don't. As I've said many times you and Jim it has. He has a great -- to keep this franchise. Viable but that's really our responsibility here. That's my main focus. Every single day. And you know I'm I'm sure Jim will be involved down the road as well put -- from our standpoint. Yet all of us want this franchise -- to be viable and keep just in Western New York it's the only reason I -- -- predict from the work that's been the number one focus. And I respect the fact that that there are things going on here that's -- I guess none of my business or our business because it's between you and the owner of the team. But what could he do something like what Art Modell did in Baltimore where he maintained and correct me if I'm wrong Modell maintained. For a little while majority ownership but struck a deal with someone who had the option to take over at some point and was going to keep the team in Baltimore. You know hard the respect Regis move away from that. That question because that is outside of my purview and you know that's an ownership question and I'm not -- covenant -- any further.
