Now he is the head coach of the Buffalo Bills and we welcome -- The seventeenth head coach in the history of the Buffalo Bills coach Doug Moreau coach first of all congratulations are in order from one Syracuse guy. To another I'm very excited for you and I know a lot of bills fans are for -- get this opportunity congratulations. Osama I'm extremely excited I mean how many people get the chance to. In LB born and raised in the State of New York. Go to college in the State of New York. Start their coaching career and the State of New York. Then obviously become head football coach in college in the state of new York and now become head football coach of the Buffalo Bills and you know I can't tell Leah how much appreciation I have for mr. Wilson Russ Brandon embody next for having the -- remain. You know at some opportunity. And this is where wanted to be. Love the people of Western New York. There are times when I was essentially Yorker which they were -- us more recruits but at the same time. I'm excited I know what's I mean going on it's been a long time but it's great organization. So I'm looking forward to restoring them. One last couple questions I know he guarded and asked in the press conference but. Here on WGR. As we have yet last year about your coordinators specifically first and foremost Lotta people interested in knowing what your philosophy is gonna be as far as hiring coordinators. What -- -- ago will there be any type of you know a list the you have that half -- these guys have to have certain qualities before you hire them. Or look at persona fits us and more in an M a lot of that is you know what their philosophy isn't matching that with my vision for this football team so. But really. I'm really looking for people that wanna be here and I can promise you that when we go out that's going to be a big part of this process people that wanna be here. People that are willing to work hard just like the people Western New York every day we wake up. At times we might have to scrape that snow off. You know the windshield. And go to work. And not worry about who gets the credit and I'm looking forward to working with the players and develop the trust and work it together to bring this organization -- On the heels of that you said in the press conference the you don't necessarily. Want to call your own place you'll hire a coordinator who will do that what kind of offense do you envision and what kind of defense the bills -- switch for a 34 to a 43 over the last couple of years. Well again one of the things that I think I'm very -- very conscious of and I have an appreciation or I hope the media appreciates -- coming from with this is that. You know we have a lot of our players right now on -- outside I've not been able to speak to those players talked to about my expectations. I struggle a little bit with with wood going through the media and them hear it through the media first. You know I'm big on trust that's going to be very important for our football program. And I wanna sit down with these players talked to about our philosophy and that from mayor. Be able to explain that to the media so our players are onboard what are expectations are. What is your philosophy envisioned for the Buffalo Bills not only it's like thirteen but beyond. Well again I'm gonna go back to what I just said. You know I think if you look in my background I think people can put things in the -- and what we've done it's been public record public statements and I go back to the same thing. And you know I I apologize if I'm not communicating this well. But I wanna make sure that I'm communicating with the players in this organization first I've communicated it. Obviously with in no -- and buddy and all the other people and I met with. And I wanna make sure I'm communicating with those players -- I think that's the most important thing. You know right now they're there and that they're researching -- I'm going through a process of you know getting coaches the value -- the team. But I think it's important that you know I talked to them first about it. How about the players themselves and how you're going to win them over as a guy coming from college do you think that's going to be. Any problem at all or do you think that they're going to see you as a guy who's been in this league for several UT coach of the NFL level for seven years. How are you going to win this locker room over as a guy coming from the college ranks. Why can't control what other people think or what the players tonight I can only tell -- why am and I and I am. I have a great amount of respect for this week I have a great deal of respect for what these players go through. I went through you know I went through this myself as a player. I went through it as an assistant coach. The other team and in the downstate part. I went through it obviously in New Orleans. So I have a great deal of respect for what these players go through so. You know for me. -- -- side about working with them and I'm excited about you know talk with them I understand that they may say he almighty and a college I -- again a pro guy. I understand the NFL I understand the locker room I understand the preparation times they would they go through so. For me that a lot of qualities a lot of things that I've gone through. And I'm looking to do its best to make organization went. Coach what it what's the one thing you learned -- coaching at Syracuse University considering the fact when you got there. It took you two years which was a pretty quick turn around considering where the program was and then you took a step backward last year than this year took that step forward again what was the one thing you learn -- that process. Well you know for us. Again it you know that's situation is totally different boost it's different than a situation that we have and more on who is different that then the situation that. I walked into as a player and somebody organizations so. And each each each moment each point of time each team everyone's different so once famous okay that's 2000 whatever team. -- you know here we are going forward this should happen. You know each team is different every year and each team changes every year. And changes part of of the NFL game it's change it's it's part of the college game but it values and beliefs remember change. Coach before I let you go here I know I got to let you go he got a lot of things you have to tend to. As wanna ask you a question from the Syracuse angle. What's your message to Syracuse University think as we a lot of them here in western York a lot of people listening online right now essentially are -- very upset that you left and of course she did say. It was your dream job in not only that how did you leave did you address the players yet and where is that situation. Charlotte but -- exactly first of all that's not the response that I've gotten for most people you know everyone's excited for me. Again to address that I addressed it right off the bat the first thing I talked about. That job being in my dream and I meant that. And what I was able to do as I had the opportunity. To change their programming gets that program headed in the right direction. And you know the one thing how we say is you know you never stopped agreement if we stop dreaming and then what happens to us so. Again you know that program is in much better shape than it was before. I think the people assert you should be excited and it did direction it's going you know we've done a lot there from a facility standpoint. To where we are the program to recruiting and creating a foundation. For that next coach to really take it to the next level as they won't go into the ACC. We have an outstanding chancellor and they the head of the board of trustees Dick Thompson will do an outstanding job. Along with the rest of the trustees and choose in our next chancellor I think Daryl gross has done a great job and in leading map program. And I know that they're excited for -- police of people and I've spoken to. And I'm very excited because the one thing that will not change is I am an alumnus and I do support that program. And I'm excited for it for those players as far as addressing the players I do think that's important. We sent a statement out today to the players. I want to make sure that you don't next Sunday. Or this Sunday coming up. I'm gonna go back to Syracuse I'm gonna meet with my coaches obviously they're at the convention I try to keep them up today don't want I was doing. With a player with the recruits I've talked to some recruits and explain to them what my situation was. As far as the players the coaches on enemy went on Sunday and then I'm enemy when my players face to face and thanked them you know they were a big part. Of creating opportunity for myself. To have this dream come true also. While dream job doesn't always mean last job so it's just. The next step for Doug -- country got -- did you tweet again -- coach -- when -- -- -- -- it's we it's it's Thanksgiving bills fans wanna hear from -- I've been -- nominated and I -- to be really -- -- we get off this call while I know you've been busy and I appreciate -- take some time out here in reports US -- down at one bills drive good luck to you congratulations outstanding thank you shall -- that is head coach -- -- on the seventeenth head coach. Of the Buffalo Bills. All right what -- gotta say bills fans 8030550.
